My father drove these out of West Ham depot, you can always tell an RML as it had an extra pane of glass. Great memories, Will be watching how you get on
@@PeteAndHisBus Just watched number 20, looks really good, my father would be proud of you. Plus it keeps the memory of these great buses alive, thanks.....

It's very addictive to Carry on watching.. I see from your latest episodes that you are now working on a 3rd bus!
Just found your channel and thought I was the only one who liked buses, cars etc. Loved the comedy and energy and do have routemaster envy. Will be smashing the like button now as binged watched all day yesterday ❤🚌
Hi Pete, stumbled on your channel on your Xmas episode, subscribed of course, and am now binge-watching forward to present time! (I like that the episodes are very short! ;) 😀
Thanks for your support! The early episodes are short. Sadly that doesn’t suit the TH-cam algorithm hence they have got longer. Very glad you’re enjoying it.
How ironic. I’ve just watched episode 1 and was thinking I doubt I can make it through the other episodes because of the awful overbearing music. Just gimme a soundtrack of whatever comes naturally with the video with a bit of commentary. Unsubscribing. Sorry.
It might be difficult to see, that cab is quite dark. The small silver dial is actually a plug. You plug your “key” starter bomb in there. You then turn the dial to start and hold it there. Once you pull the starter bomb out, it fires until you let go of the dial. Hope that makes sense. They basically run without a key. Thanks for watching!
@@maryellis3661, well this way it actually gets used rather than rotting away behind a shed somewhere. Also, you'll be pleased to know that my coversions are done in a way that the buses will always be able to be turned back into there original state. Thanks Pete, I know they're fetching big money nowadays....I enquired to the ensignbus when they were all being decommissioned was gonna but one then but didn't have any storage facilities.....they were going for about 5 grand....I'd love to drive one.... i really enjoy watching you do the work on the bus, very interesting....thank you...look forward to seeing more ...👍👍

great idea and all that.......but why ruin it by dancing and prattling around like some demented nincompoop suffering a severe case of Sephitus dance aka Saint vitus dance ?
I grew up in London, I must have been in a Routemaster hundreds of times and took them for granted. Now I miss them so much.
I think we all feel a bit like that.. hence we gotta save the ones that are left 😂👍
Amazingly bonkers… love it! 🐝🧙♂👨🎨

Brilliant ..... when it’s done you gotta sing “summer holiday” as you’re driving it !!!

Dont want to sound like an anorak but the bus in summer holiday is not a routemaster, I believe it's an RT but I may be wrong
Looks interesting so I’ll subscribe to satisfy my London try bus appetite. Greetings from the US.

Great video Pete. 😁👍
Thanks Anton, glad you enjoyed it!
Love this video from beginning to end! Even love the 280SL with the 5 speed. Hooked!!👍👍👍
Nice isn’t it
Pete love it. It's not the shed it's the depot. 😂💙
Hahah
I drove a Bristol Lodekka around Seattle for two years. Great way to develop the upper body!
Haha yes I can imagine.
My routemasters actually have power steering, all be it pretty crude it does make a difference. Thanks for watching
Just found your video Pete, nice one. I was an apprentice at Chiswick and Aldenham works, so I do love a routemaster, best bus ever
Love it, thanks for watching!
Can't wait to see how this bad boy turns out!
Hey Bar ML 2355, I think you have a rough idea..... ;)
Oooh nice!!! Thanks TH-cam algorithm! Cheers from a new subscriber from Italy!!!
Thanks for watching Italy! 😜
I love Routemasters, so this really is my cup of tea. Also, I love your R107 Merc SL too - not many with manual transmissions either. Good stuff 👍.

What a cliffhanger to leave it on.... But a great first part.

Great series Pete. What is music in this episode at 3:41
It's a free jingle you get with Imovie. No idea what it's called.
All great journeys being with FOR SALE
Very true
I just discovered this channel and love it. Out of curiosity, what's the name of the track used, I love that too.
Thanks for watching! The track is by Otis McDonald. The title escapes me right now but I’ll look it up for you later.

Super Cool mate.
Thanks Rob. Glad ya like it!
What’s the music where you are driving in your car?
Otis McDonald "Fly Away"
anyone who would say ''worst bus ever'' has never ridden on an old dennis dart
hahah true, they're pretty terrible!
When starting the engine you’re turning a selector then you also let go a small silver dial with the other hand, what’s that?

What happened to the moquette that's not RM seating
Monquette was replaced with “eyesdown” throughout the lives of routemasters. What was in there was period correct but not the all original.
Should be preserved to original condition
Mary Ellis, why’s that? RM 1 through to 8 are all preserved...
@@PeteAndHisBus 1 to 8 wow only eight you can never have to many preserved its sad to see what your doing to a lovely bus very sad

How much it cost you to buy it ?
All the money I spend is noted at the end of each episode. It was £18,000
