I have worked in car audio in years. I'm a mechanic today.
Anyway... I always created my own remote wires, by splicing an ignition wire. After testing them, to find the one I want.
Is there any reason you know of, that I can't do it to this car?

I just tapped those same wires last night and not getting any sound to the sub. Wondering if I have the hifi System now.? Using a line out converter. Amp turns on with car though. Might need a high/low loc.

Just installed my system at a shop and it says battery discharging while stopped. Have you had this issue? Any ideas?
So the connections to the car would consist of 4 speaker wires, ground and power? And the remote switch comes from the LOC? Sorry I basically just worded the same question different.
Also I read that the subwoofers are a better spot to tap into under the seats but not sure if that is true or not.

If you cannot find 12v for signal that will turn off you can use a switch to turn the amp on and off
Do you tap in to the speaker wires before the stock amp or after the amp??

thanks for video. Could you use the same converter for all e90s , even the ones that do not have logic 7? I like the idea of less tapping at the bmw amplifier and just running 2 pairs of wires from the amp to the converter. I m just not sure if the LP7 converter would also work for models without logic 7... Would the remote wire still work?
I’m sure that it would work for non-Logic 7 E90s as well! I think all BMW 3 series models from this year have some form of amp in this location. Just look up the diagram for the wiring harness for the amp model you have and tap in the same way! Thanks for the comment!

I have a 07 328i and I was wandering how you open up your rear cup holders like that mine have a large plastic piece that blocks the passage between the trunk and the cabin

would the wiring kit you used be too short for wiring two subs on opposite sides of the trunk?
The speaker wire and power wire should be long enough! I had about 2 feet of leftover wire.
How much this set up cost? Currently interested in similar set up.
So I followed this pretty closely and am using the same line out converter as in this video. When my car is off out of nowhere the subs start blaring, and it won't stop till I unplug the RCA cables. Is there any way to stop this other than to add an on/off switch?

@@DEVINE.IMAGE. Nope. I'd recommend wiring an actual remote wire to the HU. I uninstalled the subs entirely. Hated the gas cap rattle.

So the remote wire from the LOC goes to the remote spot on the amp, and that gets signal from the speaker wires by the stock amp?
Correct the connection gets complete when you unlock the doors and power on the car but the loc also has constant power as well it’s not solely running off speaker wire. I believe there is no draw until the car is powered on.

Factory amp will be hard to replace because of the fiber optic wire (logic 7 systems), but it’s doable. I would recommend these two websites to get started: bavsound.com crutchfield.com

How do you take the clip off the amp to get a better grasp of the harness
I pulled the clip as far to the right as I could with my fingers, and then had to pry it out the rest of the way using a flat head screwdriver. Just be gentile, and it should slide and pop out with a little more pressure! :)
My car has no amp on the back. It has base system. How can i install the line converter.
You will have to remove interior trim and tap into the wires heading directly into your base system's subwoofers! As far as I know, some bimmers have the base subs under the front seats or sometimes on the deck below the rear window!

The remote wire will go from your line out converter (I used the PAC audio one) and connect to the remote terminal on your amplifier.
The BMW logic 7 system doesn’t have a remote wire natively.
It’s so easy to get to your amp in 335s in my 535i I gotta take the whole fucking trunk apart damn near so I don’t fuck nothing up lol
Is there a way to tell the the amplifier to turn on when the radio turns on. Instead of having to turn on the car to turn on the amp?Like if I just have it on accessory without the car on and the amp turn on like that?
And does changing the amount of bass on the I-Drive change the sub bass? Sorry I’m new to aftermarket subs

The way I installed mine with the PAC audio LP7-2 converter, it sends a remote wire to the map and my map turns on when the car is unlocked and on accessory
The BMWs with iDrive and/or Logic 7 systems don’t have a remote turn on wire which is why you need a converter like the one I mentioned to turn on the amp when the car is unlocked
And yeah! Turning down the bass through iDrive turns down the bass on the aftermarket sub due to the fact that you are tapping into the bass signal wires. Therefore, turning it down through iDrive gives less subwoofer input to the amp!

@@boostedmedia1812 im still trying to understand exactly how the convertor acts as a power switch. Does it turn on when it gets signal from the lines its tapped into? I just dont understand how else it would get a signal as its plugged into the amp.

Alternator will eventually fail. That amp/woofer will pull too much power from primary battery causing alternator to work harder causing premature failure. If you’re adding an EXTRA amp to the system you will NEED an auxiliary battery inline/between added amplifier and primary battery.
Why is the stock system so shit. I don't even have tweeters but there are 2 shitty subs under the seats.

I would not recommend this, power wire is designed to carry the extra power supplied by the car’s battery. It is usually thicker gauge and insulated to protect against fire.

This is a bmw not a daewoo
