What abt uk right hand drive ?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but I really think it looks at least a little better than the stock version, which just looks like a brushed up silver fat stick. As you say in your video i completely agree that it really works nice with the interior on your E90 model. Yes, you could argue that the whole shifting process is still mechanical after all, but the shift knob from the Fxx models just look so elegant therefore it is a small compromise to make your Exx model interior look so much more nicer (in my own humble opinion).
I so would have needed your video 4 years ago when I had an E39 model wishing so badly to change the knob searching unsucessfully for any video or written instructions on how to do it. Thank you anyway for your video. It was short and yet quite detailed and informative. Greetings from Austria.

The stock PRND lights still work - I had to go back and press in the connector again after this video to get them to work 👌🏻

Zen Zenoko you can change the shift boot from a manual so it’s gone completely

This is super cool man. Like others mentioned it sucks the old gear indicators are still on the side, but you could wrap the whole center piece in carbon fiber or alcantara.
A manual shift boot will fix that
l done the exact same mod a year ago, nice and simple and with good results.
Also, use the manual gear shift surround, it finishes off the job nicely. Keep the good working coming, best wishes for the new year.

Lukas Gröndahl and here we have the “its not OEM from factory so its lame” type of person. If you had a little clue about bmws, you would know that the LCI shifter or next gen shifter knob wasnt even designed or thought of when this car was specced. Modernising or modifying a car to their own liking is okay. And its not trying to make the gearbox look like the newer gens. Cause again people who know the inner workings and general parts for bmws know that this is just a gear knob. If we were talking about an M3 badge on a 316i then yeah thats lame. But changing up the parts you interface with in the car is good mods and make the car comfortable for the individual doing it. You have a lot to learn it seems
I was expecting it to operate like the cars that shifter Came in from the factory. It always returns to the center position basically except m/s mode. I have that shifter in my E60 and it always returns to the middle and the button on top puts it in park

I believe its to toggle leds on n off as it wont illuminate unless your headlights are on

3 series owners love replacing the knobs on their automatics so they can sit and diddle the new plastic all day--not unlike the legos they likely ingested as children

Buddy i bought one of these from you and my park light stay on even when the car is off. And no ones in it.
Evan Bush the P turns off once vehicle goes into sleep mode. This is a stock feature it’s just not as noticeable with the stock plate. Completely normal.
Evan Bush I also don’t see any orders from this name in my system. We haven’t sold the shifter in over a year and a half.

I bought one of this LED shifter knobs and installed it without removing the negative cable in the car, now the remote does not work. Have you any idea what could happened? Codafy Hendrix idk but the 09 5 series has the digital one idk why bmw didn’t put them on the same year 3 series, in 2019 I rather buy a newer 335xdrive that had all this, or a Manual older 08 - 11 bmw 3 series because no one wants a Honda lever on a foreign car in 2019 sorry . Toyota even has digital at this point like cmon or get a bmw 335is but those are rare ones with the new shit

Honestly that’s so pointless to put tape on every connected, they made to connect and clip in. Putting way more work then needed and also you’re supposed to put the knob on neutral not drive
Tony Tylinski this harness doesn’t clip like the stock one, hence the tape
I like this, it will match the one in my X5.
I think you should make a small vinyl cut out to cover the original P R N D symbols on the trim. Cause it looks odd they're just staring at you but not working. Or you can also splice the wires so you can get signal to them as well. But covering them would be easier.

Nice job. You probably want to upgrade the trims and other items too. It's legit stick if it may not be too shiny.
A Bimmer is a Bimmer. Even 2000s Bimmer runs like racing cars if you keep up with the maintenance. I'd like to keep mine stock with some upgrades if I really like it.
