Sorry, I'm a computer ignoramus. When I did exactly what you said, and dragged the file over to the USB area, it didn't move the file, all it did was create a "shortcut" to the file. No file was actually moved to the USB. How can I move a file? You make it look easy. I'll try the "send to" method now.
Thank you Ken, you made my life a lot simpler. I am a old dude who until recently had no computer knowledge, not even able to fire one up properly. Now I can store my music files safely and I don't need a blank cassette (LOL!)

Glad it was helpful! You probably won't be able to copy all the files off a laptop to a flash drive. They aren't typically big enough. You would probably need an external hard drive. Typically this would work the same as a flashdrive where you find your files on the computer and copy them over. As for Android, Unfortunately I don't have a video on the topic but I'm sure there should be some out there.

It only took up 6 Gb's so I'm wandering how can I install other programs or files onto the same SD micro card without over writing on the windows 11? Alas, while I don't fully recognize that fellow in my current reflection, I am starting to suspect the dim shadow behind me, is indeed him. And he's approach might be more rapid than I would like to admit. In any case I went ahead and subscribed. I'll be checking in now and then. Of particular interest are any videos that might help an old guy deal a little more effectively with Windows 11. I was doing marginally well with WIndows 10. I even thought about trying to roll my new Dell back to 10. But I know it's probably best if I try to get a handle on it. I'm sure there are capabilities that make 11 better than 10. At least I hope that's the case.

I have kind of a dumb question. I have a thumbdrive that is 1T is it possible to copy the entire drive c: in one move to the thumb drive so that everything is backed up completely? Even better is it possible to make that thumb drive self bootable. I have twice now had to lose everything on my hard drive because of windows BitLocker errors. Techs say they can wipe the whole dive clean and start over with a latest version of windows. I got a couple of 1T drives to copy all my docks and pics but realizing my hd is smaller than a thumb drive this possibility came to mind. You may have to do some math. If you right click on the video file and then have a look at the properties it'll tell you the file size. From there you can figure out an approximate amount of needed storage.
I bought a THKAILAR USB C Flash Drive 256GB-USB Flash Drive on Amazon. On properties it says file system exFAT. I have a windows 10 PC 64 bit system. I put a few gigs on the flash drive using copy and paste. It screws up my PC . My mouse was a mess. Also a window like yours on the left for the drive does not open but my PC sees the flash drive ? I removed the files from the flash drive and it seems my PC is working ok for now. I returned it.

Microsoft seems intent to sell me more storage and to do that they let me go over my allowance and then leave me with no option unless i can work out how to take all the photos off OneDrive, which i never put on there in the first place. But i need to get my emails so today and yesterday i am doing a big delete session. As you can tell i am struggling to follow your advice as Windows 11 IS RUBBISH, AND WHERE IT ALL USE TO BE HAS GONE. Plus i have dyslexia so even harder and i am not computer lit. Thank you
They nagged me into upgrading to Windows 11 too! What a piece of garbage 🤬 my laptop takes 20 minutes to just boot up and excel freezes constantly, my browser takes forever to open 🤬🤬🤬 A task that should take 20 minutes takes 45 to 90 freaking minutes
