Just watched a few of your videos. I feel like after 4 yrs, I might just have found more info than 2 knee doctors could not give me. Thank you so much.
Your videos have been super informative and I’m an orthopaedic sister. I have dislocated my patella three times now (hyper-mobile) This last time I heard a pop and my god the pain. I think I’ve got arthritis and probably have old meniscus tears and now probably have an ACL tear; had an MRI and I will find out Wednesday when I see my Consultant. I also had tibial shift this time and thank god for your video teaching how to move it. The pain relief was INSTANT - I am So grateful I found that video.
You always come in right in the nick of time! Thank you! I did what you said in this video because of what you said in a previous video! My meniscus has been torn in both legs several times. Knees pop out of socket because ligaments are so loose. Very unnerving - but you help with reminders of what I should be doing to keep things in check!! Again - thanks for great info & sharing!
Hey ShaunazTweet! We're glad to be here to help out! Sorry to hear about your knees :-( It is possible to heal those knees naturally and get back to doing what you love. Have you seen this video about exercises that will help your knees? th-cam.com/video/NXdCjT2QtJA/w-d-xo.html
Omg!! Thank you for your excellent expertise this was so very helpful and gave me a better understanding of my situation bless you Dr. David! And Have a fabulous weekend!! 🌞🙏😎
thank you very much and very informative. I have had problems getting information about my left leg since I was 27 when i had a sport accident while playing competitive badminton. Left thigh bent outward. I was told, surgent clear part of my meniscus and ligament was in near "tear condition". I have had leg "coldness" issue for years, felt tired after standing for mere 10mins or so. then came another injury to the knee again 8 yrs later. ended up with another 30days MC. at 48, it has never cross my mind to really take care of it as I was very fit and still actively engaged in sports. Then came the final blow, I tore my left ACL and I starting thinking deeply as I have a family to take care of. Surgical was on my mind, but I chicken out 1 month before going under the cut. I thought it wanted to avoid it if possible. Now I am still active but manage it according to my pace. Move around helps and the knee feels good. However, there is always the little sound and movement of the ....whatever within my left knee. Sometimes, I feel uncomfortable as if something is out of sort, I will do a little exercise and stretching.... then "crack" or some sound, the knee feels good and the discomfort gone. Some time, it swell a little and I rest a few days and it has gone. I had learn to adjust my schedule by allowing my knee to rest before engaging in sports. I still enjoy my game but do so in a manageable level. gone were those days, I fought my way like I was before. This has also in some way, antagonize some of my team members. But for me, that is the way for me if I want to continue to enjoy my sports but not to the expanse of my knee, not any more
I have a partial ACL tear and a torn meniscus after twisting my knee during wakeboarding. At first I thought it wasn't serious. I just knew I shouldn't let it twist. Just like you said, other muscles were compensating. I was able to walk a lot and even dance. Til I saw my MRI. Had I known sooner, I would've rested more. I'm gonna have my meniscus sewn back in soon. For the partial ACL tear, my doctor said I could have Platelet Rich Plasma injections to make it heal faster.
The video very helpful. I got knee pain that come from athritis and i go to gym to gain muscles on my legs. Before that i took glucosamin and condroitine sulfat.
I've been dealing with knee issues for about half my life now, in both knees. My right knee is the worse though, it has had a few past injuries to it. I saw a doc years ago about it, after I injured my right knee for the 4th time and had already been dealing with knee paid for a few years at that time. They though it was maybe patellofemoral disorder, and I did some pt then. But have still been struggling since then. I mainly just tried dealing with it with pain meds like ibuprofen, etc.., bracing, heat, and ice, and massaging it, when it would flare up. The pain i was mostly feeling during that time was either a deep throb or a sharp stabbing pain (feeling like someone was trying to drill into my knee). This year my right knee got worse, and has buckled on me a couple times, and feels very unstable, it clicks (with near every step I take) and cracks a lot, and there is a lot of pain often, stiffening at night and first thing in the morning, or after sitting (like car rides) for too long. And also struggled to straighten my knee if i had it bent for too long. Been doing PT again, and saw Ortho yesterday. They said x-rays looked good, but they do suspect possibly both a meniscus and an ACL injury, and want me to get an MRI.
hey man hope all is well i have the same exact things you described! litteraly! any updates and did you end up doing mri? and how is the knee feeling now?
What about both-😅. 35 years ago I had both a fractured tibia from a sports game- no contact. Never had any issues with this knee- I’ve run multiple half marathons & Duathlons. Suddenly at 51 feeling pain. I work out regularly so can’t pin point why now. Can you discuss long term symptoms and how often people go back in for surgery. Many thanks
Hi doctor , can you guide people having flat foot ? How and which excercises can help flat foot situation Recently my flat feet ( assumption) caused full ACL tear on my left knee while dancing .

Hi thanks for the video Can you please make a video for total an ACL injury exercise to do without surgery thank you my sister in law injured her Totally ACL she’s leave in different country thank you
I understand you won’t be able to diagnose someone on a youtube comment. Maybe you can just point me to the correct video to watch? I am 53, active. My left knee is stable. No swelling, no pain. I can do that pigeon toed air squat with no problem. I get a sharp pain under my left patella when my leg flexes inward. (If I am sitting on the floor with my legs straight in front of me, and I push my left knee toward the floor, I get a sharp pain.) Over the last month maybe? I noticed it when I was going down stairs and my foot landed awkward and a sharp paint shot through my knee. I watched your ACL video and now this video and neither seems to apply to my pain. I have been doing the ACL pre-surgery range of motion and strengthening exercises and I have had no problems. Gig’em
For me, the pain came on gradually. Just kept getting worse. I didn’t see any swelling. But sometimes it felt like my leg was going to break off. After week and half, the pain was so bad I couldn’t even walk. It hurts on outside of my knee. Have a brace and been resting it. Pain has gone down. But I can’t be on feet for long periods of time. And if I accidentally move my knee/leg wrong, I’ll get severe pain spasm. Still waiting for a MRI but think it’s a meniscus tear. What do you think?
Thank you for all your helpful information. Thank you! Thank you! Close to a year post op ACL & bucket handle meniscus repair. After a 30 minute +++ car ride, the back of my leg is stiff & walking with a bit of a limp. Any advice? Also, can I sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs?
Hey Luis, sorry to hear that you're dealing with this type of meniscus tear :-( You've got to make sure that you address the tibial shift if there is one. This often is the reason that people with a meniscus tear don't heal well despite doing the right exercises. You can learn more about a tibial shift in this video: “This Rare Diagnosis Is Easily The Biggest Reason For Inner Knee Pain” th-cam.com/video/XY0EbjhK8lQ/w-d-xo.html In case you need it, here is a playlist of all our meniscus videos: "Knee Meniscus Help" th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZ9Vh4eRH3UlmMeqOUtB-6a.html
Thanks for your videos, they are definitely providing more understanding for me. I have a tibial avulsion fracture and a complex meniscus repair after a ski accident. I am two month post surgery, I still can’t extend my leg to 0 and am achieving about 125 flexion. This looks like a long recovery. Any advice?
I still don't know whether my problem is with the meniscus or ACL. My foot slipped in the slippery bilge of a boat. It felt like my knee popped out of place. It hurt just as bad when it pop back into place. This happened about 7 years ago. I went to the doctor about 2 years ago and it was diagnosed with arthritis. I have definitely lost range of motion in that knee and the pain comes and goes. I am 71 very active in very good shape.
I was an over achiever and completely tore my acl and had a complex tear on one part of my meniscus and a bucket handle tear on my other. Currently pre surgery :(
Hi Canadamoisture, We're really sorry to hear about your ACL and meniscus tear! We understand how challenging and painful this can be. It's worth mentioning that if you still have more than 10% range of motion, can bear some weight on the knee, and aren't experiencing prolonged locking, there may be a possibility to avoid surgery, if that's your preference. We have two playlists that we believe could be beneficial for you. These playlists include exercises and tips specifically designed to aid in the healing of meniscus and ACL issues. Given the priority of ACL recovery, we recommend starting with that playlist. If you notice improvements, you can then transition to the meniscus playlist. “ACL Knee Pain Injury Help” th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mY5egV7qX8PHh-kEeL6y1wP.html “Knee Meniscus Help” th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZ9Vh4eRH3UlmMeqOUtB-6a.html Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. Seeing positive results from both playlists could indicate that surgery might be avoidable through exercise and addressing the root causes. Additionally, we offer a Knee Meniscus Recovery Program that may further support your recovery journey. The Knee Meniscus Recovery Program is designed to help people have the best chance of avoiding unnecessary surgery, injections, or having to rely on pain medications. This course guides people through exercises and stretches that target key body parts that have the greatest potential to prevent or help with meniscus tears or trouble after meniscus surgery. To learn more please click this link: www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/meniscus-recovery For those who purchase a program, we also provide coaching services. Hi Doc.I have level 2 ACL tear , played soccer 4 months ago, went ER , they did xray , nothing was fractured they said it's MCL injury, they gave me brackets very heavy duty and uncomfortable, I've healed very quickly , after 2 weeks I was walking without support and no limping , after 2 months I was just getting out of the car and I've heard knee popped up , pain for few seconds and it was back to normal , last week I was playing with friends fox and then it happened again, so I went doc and did MRI, they said I have level 2 ACL tear and recommended surgery. I would like to do everything to avoid surgery. I'm going to see physio instead of orthopaedic surgeon as recommended by my GP. My question is if rowing machine is good for knee rehab from my injury and if yes could you please recommend resistance or techniques and frequency ? Thank you
I wish I know this sooner ! I just have ACL and meniscus torn and also arthritis surgery a day ago and now my dr talk to my husband I need knee replacement also sooner or later ! Is this necessary. Thank you
I think I have a meniscus tweak or tear according to my doc but we have not done a m.r.i. ,, but my calve muscle spasms often or feels tight after walking or standing for a long time.. even when I wake up... what can I do? Or what could that be?
Hey! Your videos have really been a ray of hope for me. I have a partial tear and neither the doctor nor the physio says that it can ever heal without a surgery. I just have 2 questions. I have an isolated ACL tear (just small twisting caused it) since 3 weeks and I am an athlete. I feel pretty strong overall but on the inner side of my knee i feel locking when i bend/extend my knee. Can you help me understanding what it could be? Second. Is there a way to consult you? Even a single call would help
Before one session prp injection l could bend my knee now after 3 weeks from prp injection i cant bend my knees completely. Is it normal? And after a while l can bend my knee?(In mri l have a partial tear in acl and meniscus. )thank❤
Hey there, I fell in 2004 out of the chair while standing in it. My right leg went through the arm hole and bent my knee in the opposite direction (sideways). They did an x-ray, but never told me anything about it. It is unstable, shifts unexpectedly, and I have fallen and hurt my knee at least 3 times since. Over time, my other knee (left) has over-compensated for it and started hurting. I got an MRI of the left knee and it is a Meniscus tear. Now after watching the video, I need to request an MRI of the original problem knee since there may be an ACL and Meniscus issue. I am overweight, so know supportive muscle tissue. I received my first shots in the knees late last year and a second round this July. It helps, but I want to get to the root of the issue. I am wondering what do I do in this situation? I have lost the ability to do squats and it is getting worse.
Hey there, we are so sorry to hear that you are having this issues in your knees! :( this can be very tough and frustrating! Our videos on how to heal a meniscus tear would definitely be very good for both of your knees! So although they are targeted at healing the meniscus, it will also help provide stability to the knee even if you do have an ACL tear. Hey there, clicking does not always mean that there is a meniscus tear. It is possible, but if it is not terribly painful then it may be more associated with a muscle imbalance that formed because of the injury to your other knee. In case you are interested, we have a great playlist available for helping people who have had meniscus tears. This playlist targets the common muscle imbalances associated with these issues. Here is a link if you would like to learn more: “Knee Meniscus Help” th-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZ9Vh4eRH3UlmMeqOUtB-6a.html We also have a very structured and in-depth knee meniscus program available that was designed to help people with common problems incurred after a meniscus tear has occurred. I had a tear in the posterior horn of medial meniscus likely bucket handle tear while playing soccer..done my mri ,taken complete rest for 2.5 weeks with medications..after that started pt and chose ayurveda...now after 1month am improving little by little..stability is achieving slowing I have improved my gait and strength of knee..locking reduced but has become bearable..hope to avoid surgery...thanks to ayurveda and its 'murivenna' special oil...
Absolutely yes you can have both Heidi! You'll need to prioritize the ACL part first since that causes you to lose stability in your knee joint. Without stability, you won't be able to help the meniscus.
Just watched a few of your videos. I feel like after 4 yrs, I might just have found more info than 2 knee doctors could not give me. Thank you so much.

Post op 1 yr ACL reconstruction & meniscus tear, now my other good knee is clicking????????
Hey there, clicking does not always mean that there is a meniscus tear. It is possible, but if it is not terribly painful then it may be more associated with a muscle imbalance that formed because of the injury to your other knee. In case you are interested, we have a great playlist available for helping people who have had meniscus tears. This playlist targets the common muscle imbalances associated with these issues. Meniscus. And TCL. PROBLEM. .CAN U SHOW EXERCISES WE CAN..DO
i dont have clicking but, buckling.
Im 37 😢
Can you have both?
Absolutely yes you can have both Heidi! You'll need to prioritize the ACL part first since that causes you to lose stability in your knee joint. Without stability, you won't be able to help the meniscus.
