These six episodes were just great. Thank You. The Lakes are like a work of art; nature's own work of art and a feast on the eyes to look at.

This trip just keeps giving, what stunning views, all taken at a sensible pace, something the Classic just lulls you into. It’s why I love my Classic so much, even riding in the rain is a pleasure 🙂

Hi Peter, they do make you slow down and all the better for it. Rain hasn't stopped me either. I was thinking last night about a road not far from me called Winnets Pass. It climbs through a ravine and the 350 sounds amazing going up. How good would it sound with a group of Classic 350's

Another cracking run, Wast Water in particular is amazing 👍 I have done the Honister Pass in a car and never again (on bike is another matter), it was a blinking nightmare with all the traffic and you lucked out with those near empty roads, what a difference. I was down in Arbroath on Wednesday and was approached by a couple of gents and asked if my Classic 350 was two stroke haha, they both had bikes in their younger days and amazed that they still making Royal Enfields, what terrific bikes that attract that type of attention.

These bike are a conversation starter, one of their charms.
The sound of the Classic 350 pulling up Honister was fantastic 😍 I had a grin on my face all the way.
It would be amazing for a convoy of Royal Enfield bike to go over
      Ride safe, Dave

Funnily enough only came over Honister this morning on the way back to the West Riding.....29HP pulled the 2CV up with ease.....all these vehicles including my MZ 250 go to prove that fun can be had with very little power needed for a great day out.

    • @thatblokeonamotorbike
      @thatblokeonamotorbike  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Andrew, I bet it was a good run in the 2CV. You're right high power doesn't mean more fun. Just take your time look at the scenery and smile. Have to say I like you saying "West Riding" and not West Yorkshire. It's years since I rode an MZ., Ride safe

Hello Dave. You've really spoiled us on this episode. The day was absolutely perfect for seeing Wast water - it can be pretty bleak there. I often stay at Grange and take that little Honister Pass bus (free for me) to get to various places enroute for walking from. You have shown us some of the finest views ridden at a pace (as someone else commented) that we can drink it all in and I thank you for it! You show that the RE 350 is just THE perfect bike! Enjoy your night's rest. See you for the next ride. LE

Morning Peter, it's one of my favourite parts of the Lakes, if I'd had time I would have gone to Ravenglass and a ride on the Ratty, I've driven "River Mite" when it came down to the Kirklees Light railway that I volunteer at. Next year I have go go back and have a day on the railway there

0:22 SHHHhhh ! If the planners hear that the highest mountain is right next to the deepest lake they will take the mountain, put it into the lake, add some tarmac and (snip, snip, Bob's your uncle) one very large carpark with exorbitant hourly fees.
It is the lake district after all...
Thanks for posting another fantastic video. I was especially impressed with how you handled the huge volume of traffic.

I'd never thought about a carpark! I was going to say a couple of times in the video I had spotted places to wild camp, but thought better of it.

@@thatblokeonamotorbike Hi Dave. I am the same with my riding these days but have always ridden fairly defensively. My late father was a Police rider for many years and my only brother was killed on a bike when I was just 11, so I guess I was never going to be a tw*t on bikes.
Yes, it was my Triumph Bonneville, 2012 that I bought brand-new in 2012 and sold last year. I just haven`t bothered to update the photo. I now have a Honda CB500X, which I went from Somerset to Scotland via The Lakes, last year, avoiding all motorways, to keep me sane and recently bought a Classic 350 red / chrome, which I love. Sorry for lengthy reply.

When I started riding a police ride told me about a book, Police Roadcraft, I got it and read it cover to cover then joined my local RAC/ACU training scheme where it was taught to all new riders.
I've stuck to it ever since.
The classic 350 does help to keep us sane, 2 years ago my daughter died, bikes have helped stop me doing stupid things

What a wonderful video series. Bought my first bike 3 months ago at 60 years old, a Royal Enfield Classic 350. Love the bike. I drive in Driftless region here in Wisconsin. I should have done this 40 years ago.
Would be curious about your video kit and mounting. What is device on your left handlebar? Does your basket work?
Thank you. I’ll be watching and dreaming of spring over our long winter.

Sorry missed the second part of your comment.... The devise is the remote control for the GoPro so I can start and stop recording, I can also see when it's recording.
I use the GoPro 10 in a media-mod mounted on my helmet. Power is taken from the bike as the battery run out stupidly quick.
sound is from a PurplePanda mic in the chin guard.
Would a video of my set up be of interest?
The basket does work, I have some small drybags with bits and bats in that I need on the road.
Anything else give me a shout, Cheers, Dave

The Hunter is a great midrange motorcycle just right for riding the country lane and moorland summerset and the beautiful Dartmoor of Devon.
