Great video. It's good to see these roads I know so well from the view of a motor bike.50 years since I last rode one. Incidentally, it's Diggly, not Diggle. Diggle is a place at the west end of the Stanage tunnel.

Thank you, nice video. But I have to disagree with your thoughts on positioning. I know you have based this on conventional wisdom, but I abandoned positions 1 & 3 some time ago, and I have found it very liberating. I stay in position 2 most of the time, and here are my reasons: 1. Positions 1 & 3 leave no safety margin, should the bend tighten suddenly, or other hazard appear. In position 2, I have half the width of my side of the road in which to think and react by perhaps leaning more, throttling back, applying the front brake or changing direction. Also, I have that margin to stop on my side of the road. Hugging the white line or the kerb denies me all this. Why not stay in position 2 and be safer? 2. On the roads you were riding, the extra “vision” around the beds in positions 1 & 3 is minimal. I note you had to stand on the grass verge to try to accentuate it. 3. You demonstrated very well the danger of position 3 on left hand bends, as you met wide trucks coming the other way. Staying in position 2 means you are always in a safer position. Indeed, on roads such as these, at this time of year when there are lots of massive tractors about, I will sometimes edge towards position 1 on blind left hand bends. 4. On wider roads, there may be more vision around bends in positions 1 & 3, but swinging back and forward between them confuses following vehicles. I’ve had cars (and vans and bikes) try to overtake on the inside because they thought I was turning right ahead in position 3, or on the outside in position 1 because they thought I was stopping or turning left ahead. 5. On twisty country roads, staying in position 2 lets you concentrate on the road ahead, instead of thinking constantly about flitting back and forth for no good reason. 6. Most potholes, for obvious reasons, occur in the tyre tracks of heavy vehicles ie not in position 2.

Park, cover up plates, don’t pay then leave and then tell the traffic womble “Bylaws allow this and I refuse to make any further statements”.

Hi, Just have to say this. I was out today on my 350, enjoying the ride in the sunshine at 45 mph in a 50mph limit. It was so so, satisfying to pass a mobile speed camera with 5 mph to spare ! I could have ""waved"" at them !! It was one of those A roads, where there is no earthly reason for the restricted limit except to remove your cash from you. I always stick to the legal limits, just to spite the system and the highway robbery we are all subjected to these days. Rant over. Did you take your passport with you when you crossed to the dark side??... Regards MikeN

I'm guessing you're from the Barnsley area then? I've ridden some of these very roads which are local to me. We have some decent(ish) roads and nice scenery! I'm getting more and more tempted with the Royal Enfields especially with the release of the new Guerilla which has thrown yet another spanner in the works. I was seriously tempted with the Classic 350 until I saw that! As a second bike to sit alongside my Tracer 900 with an easy to justify price tag,I reckon they're hard to beat!

Bestie and her siblings have to be the most relaxing bikes to ride, at least I have not found a better bike to ride in 53 years of biking. Watching the traffic at lights makes you realise why biking is such fun ! 😊

I just discovered your vlog today when I was checking in on Holly The Cafe Boat. What a fun vlog you have, Congrats on retiring and now you can enjoy more travels on Betsy. I would love to pop in on Holly someday. It will include a very long plane flight but it would be worth it.

Ball Grove Country Park, as it's rather grandly known. I've walked through there many times in the past on my way to Wycoller. Used to be the site of one of the largest light tanneries in Europe. The Emmott Arms is quite a nice pub, does decent food, and if you're unlucky you might bump into my brother and his dog. 😀

Parking cherges to be paid by an APP only. This ought to be illegal as not everyone has a mobile phone and those that have do not all want to have Apps on their phones. In reference to the parking of motorcycles I understand hat you do not want non train users parking in the car park but why discriminate against motorcycles as for non train users charge what you want if youdon't want to discourage train use and the use of whitby rail station as for motorcyclists frequenting the cafe being banned I'm sure you will have considered the effect on the cafe as a business which I'm told is leased

I agree totally with you on the riding aids taking the skills out of the rider you don't need all that. If you do need all of that maybe a car would be a better for you.

Wy do so many dipstick car drivers not realise that filtering IS allowed in the UK? And before anyone tries to jump on my case, I am a car driver, a long time biker, and a retired HGV driver so I do know the highway code rules. If you are a frustrated car driver who doesn't like being stuck in slow traffic, why not consider getting a motorcycle ? It is a far less stressful way of getting about.

You rode past my house as you came through Queensbury. The road you were going to explore is Black Moor Rd. It is not very long, but, nice to ride and the views are great. It brings you out where you drop down that very steep twisty hill into Haworth 👍

The big house on the left at 10.30 used to be a pub, went to a Christmas rally there once in the 90s, camped in the beer garden and it dropped to -10 overnight !!!

That bloke behind was a right dickhead hopefully one day he'll meet someone that won't expect his behavior

Some drivers get very stressed in traffic queues, I've noticed. The highways Dept are installing 3 way traffic lights on a local major road and the traffic queues at times are very long. Pootling slowly past on my 350 Scooter, I've seen drivers out of their cars arguing, one bloke jumped out of his car and I had to basically offside to miss him as he thumped on the driver's window of the car in front.😮 They need to watch your very relaxing videos, and calm down. 😊

Me and my wife both ride motorbikes if the carpark is free we put both bikes in one bay, but if we have to pay for bikes we take up a bay each. If they want you to pay it should be for an individual bay

Can we club together and have a test case to show these railway numpties up for what they are - pathetic. Can you impagine how a judge would react to a paying vehicle being ticketed for occupying a valid space? Were there many non-paying motorcycles meeting up at events? I can see this may be off-putting for non-motorcyclists and be the cuase of the vague statements.

What if your bike identifies as a car ?

According to another legend, Robin Hood married Marian at St.Mary's church in Edwinstowe. The town has a statue of them in their honour. Various parts of the country lay claim to Robin Hood. I doubt we'll ever know the truth as the stories have been changed so many times over many centuries.
