Re. The philosophy of Royal Enfield, I imagine that the idea of a practical mode of transport was originally the m.o. of the early British bikes, where they were being designed as a workhorse for the average person? As cars became more affordable, bikes appealed to true enthusiasts and then became toys for most owners, who often owned cars as well. And bikes became more complicated, higher powered and more expensive. As someone who has never owned a car but always ridden bikes, Royal Enfield speak to me like no other manufacturer has in my 30+ years of riding. And I am sure that there is room in my garage for a Classic 350? The more I see of it, the more I like it.
True but if I may add further. Royal Enfield once India became it's main customer base read into Indian public's demands. They want a bike they can afford as well as multipurpose. You can take the hunter to the Himalayas or the Himalayan on a touring trip or the gt as a commuter. It can do anything at a cost of one bike. Of course the Himalayan is better for extreme terrains and hunter is better as a roadster but both can be used anywhere and arw as tough as a bullet (no pun intended) is it as powerful as nortons or triumphs or harleys? No. But bloody hell they are great bikes and no one would regret them. And as i write this I reached the part of rhe vid where he says exactly this so I feel stupid for writing it😅
Almost all Indian bikes and scooter manufacturers design products for common man such as Bajaj, Hero, Jawa, Yezdi, TVS, Ather Energy, Ultraviolette Automotive, Revolt etc...
Though from India, I never thought about RE during my younger days and rode a Honda small bike for almost 3 years and then got a car... However, the bike remained with me for a few more years for weekend riding. Later, about 18 years ago, I totally gave up riding and never even thought about riding a bike in my life. I sold the Honda. Then, a few months ago, I happened to pass a bike put on display at a movie theatre. It was the RE Hunter. As I ran my fingers on the tank, I could hear it speak to me, reminding me of my younger days. Despite reservations from almost every person I discussed with, I turned up at the RE showroom, threw my leg over a few models, test rode the Hunter, Meteor and the Classic, and let the feeling sink in. I am 58, and in India, 58 is not an age to toy with buying bikes as a hobby. Then I came up on your channel and a few others as well. That's when it hit me. In the US and UK, you buy the RE as a small bike after riding more powerful ones. And I found lots of senior citizens going for RE classic.... That decided it for me. A bike now sits in the building basement, and I potter around on the weekends to unwind. And I am enjoying every minute I spend on the classic.
I bought a Classic 350 about a month ago now, in part from Freddie's recommendation, came from a Vitpilen 401. I don't miss having more than twice the HP, the Classic is an absolute joy.
Motorcycles used to be cheap transport, today they are often expensive toys ! As you rightly say RE are reversing that trend with cheap fun transport, good on them! 👏👍😀🏍 Don’t get burnt Freddie & Monika 👍😀
The cheap scooter stole the market when motorcycles (and motorcyclists) matured and moved up in life. Licensing laws don’t help I guess. RE on the other hand never stopped making real motorbikes for people who need to go places. They are reaping their just rewards now.
Superb. I feel so lucky to own a 350 in chrome and Bronze. I agree with you. I think its the Indian passion for bikes that has helped create the special feeling when you ride an Enfield.👍
Had a test ride yesterday on a 350 meteor in Bristol. Such a great fun bike, a step down from my triumph Street triple but a step up in fun factor. I spent a good half doing figure of eights at the big empty cinema carpark , such an easy bike to ride, the turning circle is amazing, a quick blast up the M32 got to 70mph and it held there ok. Up to 55mph this bike is such a laugh it's addictive.
Congrats mate on your CBT Great choice of bike MS . Ive down sized from a Kawasaki Vulcan VN900. After 50 years of biking its one if the best small capacity bikes Ive owned. Just remember they are not perfomance bikes. But the fun factor is off the scale.
It has always been this hot in Spain in summer. I remember riding through in the '80s. 40 degrees was normal. ''Critical'' is political. In 2003, it was 45 in southwest Portugal. That same day in Seville was 52. Twenty years ago! Your experience on the 350 makes me wonder why I have bigger bikes. Especially in Thailand. I like the army green one or the desert sand one. I have always skirted round Valencia. I should have stayed there. Another cool video.
Cycled into Seville in 43c about 20 years ago, eleven years ago l motorcycled in via Salamanca, again 43c, all my life (60 years) Spain has been this hot in the summer months. Lovely bike & Valencia is gorgeous.

Freddie, That blue and black bike in the shop (9:15) the 55 Suzuki looks to be based on a DR800. The DrBig. Took me a while. The rear swingarm and the engine sidecover on the right with the 3 fin tri pattern is the giveaway. That thing is a BEAST when you look closely at it. An 800 CC single!!!
Freddie and Monica; If you ever get over to the states and find South Dakota please get in touch. I have the "Illness", 3 Royal Enfield bikes in the garage. A Trials 500, a GT 650' and a Classic 350. I would be happy to share them for some time.

Yes it is, indeed I am a Spaniard and I have just come back from Scotland and I haven’t seen as many bikes as I expected along the roads from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye. In my town Vigo of 300000 citizens the density of bikes is at least 10 times bigger than in Edimburgh and the weather is also wet.
Ohh Freddie & Monika, another brilliant episode of your Valencian journey & adventures! Incredible how hot it is this summer! The Classic 350 is a fantastic little motorcycle when just pootling around. Just brilliant! Have fun, stay safe & see you back in the UK! Dying to hear about the Bonneville 🤦♂️
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 .the Hunter & the Himalayan ,are the only other make & type of motorcycle ,I would consider if I was to choose other than Japanese badged bikes . I don’t need speed or massive horse power ,I am not in any urgent rush to get anywhere I am retired & every day is a holiday .👍
Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. Valencia is a really beautiful city, often overlooked by Madrid or Barcelona so hopefully some people who have watched your Valencia trip will also take the plunge.
During the early 80s, Greece was one of my regular holiday destinations and I used to go island hopping. Athens was always blistering hot, regularly 40C plus and the hottest was 44C. It’s not unusual in urban areas, particularly cities to get extremely hot. It’s the mass of concrete and tarmac that retains heat, so it’s hot during the night.
I lived in Abu Dhabi for 3 years and Saudi for a year. The 40 degrees Celsius reading was normal. We didn't have weather warnings, we just went out in the cooler parts of the day!
I was a harley man but now converted to my royal Enfield classic signals 350 here in England......but have a house not too far from valencia a lovely city.....and a lovely country.....maybe one day get my bike out there
Freddie 7 Monika, many thanks for this short tour of Valencia. Never thought of it as a destination until now. Many Thanks, looks a great city and will add to my bucket list.
I lived in Sevilla in the early 90s - 40+ degrees was fairly normal June onwards. I remember leaving a bar at around 4am and seeing a pharmacy clock / thermometer showing 42 degrees
Hi, Freddie can I say I've really enjoyed learning more about Valencia, it's great that you cover the destination as well as the bikes! My wife and I are already planning a trip. Keep up the good work and from my wife's perspective keep including Monika she's a star😊👍

Fantastic video. Monica has a great eye - several cinematic shots in that video. Specifically the shadow scene over the red pavement - gorgeous. Great stuff as always. Hello from Canada!
Lovely city Valencia. That heat is crazy. We where recently in Majorca 42 degrees and hired a 300 piaggio and usually the cooling breeze is very pleasant but it still felt like warm air being blown on you. Lovely when you get a cooling rain shower. 😊
Fantastic viewing as always, my nextdoor neighbour was in Valencia at the same time. I told him to look out for you guy's. Either riding what is honestly the best little bike on the planet or looking cool in some trendy coffee shop. I was watching your adventure form Italy on my holiday. Back home now thought I'd watch it again then forward the link over to my friend to watch! Thanks again for such entertaining material as always. The best of luck to you both going forward. I live in Australia and don't think I have ever heard of a hot weather warning. Where I live 40 C is quite normal in Summer and it is only when it continues for a few days in a row that people talk about it. Lovely riding weather in the evenings I feel. I should take possession of my 350 Classic in Halcyon Grey in a few days, just before Winter sets in, I have always had bad timing. Thanks for the videos.
Hi Freddie, when are you due for an Aussie trip? The greta ocean rode between Melbourne and Adelaide would be absolutely magical! Or anywhere along the east coast would be amazing coming into the spring and summer while you escape the british colder months
Hi Freddie and Monika, while you are in Valencia head to the Ontinyent region for some stunning mountain rides. Right in the town centre of Ontinyent there is a fabulous cafe that does the most amazing breakfasts. It's called MIRANDA'S. 😊
I wish you'd shown a little more of the red building at the end. I walked past it in around April 2008, whilst visiting Valencia, everything was shut for the flower festival. When I saw that beautiful building, I thought it was a railway station 😂
Our last Summer 🌺 we’re I live I. Australia was pretty mild ( we only had 1 over 40 degrees 😂😂😂) it’s our winter 🥶 at present. Most of our summers are mid 30,s and a few over 40,s a few years ago we had 8 days in a row of 40 , one ☝️ day was 46 . Adelaide in Australia had 12 days over 49, I do love the Royal Enfield,s.
I totally agree with what you said because while watching Itchy boots, the locals take the bikes on the most testing roads, and the bike just keeps tracking on and on even sitting two or three passengers, and those bikes don't cost thousands that's the kind of bike I want ?
It’s brilliant, isn’t it Ash🙂🤘🏼🏍️ There’s a brilliant video that recently went viral on Instagram of two huge KTM Adv bike riders stuck in thick mud in the middle of nowhere… the camera then pans over to a man whizzing past on a Honda Cub, road tyres, no helmet and a rifle on his back😆
Another great video Freddie and I must say Monica does a superb job as your videographer! There's another retro bike, made in India ( I think) which no Western vlogger ever reviews or even mentions and that is the Honda CB 350. it looks like a 70s Honda, similar in style and shape to the old Honda Four 750 and 500s of the 70s when I was a teenager. Only one exhaust though.I'm buying one in the next few days. It's priced to compete with the RE Classic in India. so great value for money.I think it's on sale in Asia only unfortunately. I live in Taiwan. Thanks for your entertaining videos!
While I get your point about biking for the masses and not focusing on ‘lean angles’ etc I’d say that plenty of people do like that. There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting a powerful bike or wanting life saving tech. I myself ride a KTM 1290 SDR Evo and I love it. I can appreciate the Royal Enfield but I hadn’t even heard of it and neither had any of the dozens of people I ride with. As for being ‘cool’, that’s about as subjective as it gets 😊 I think as bikers we just need to fully recognise that there’s many different tastes and approaches. Nonetheless, it looks like a nice bike for a lazy ride (but I’d miss the instant torque of my SDR). As tone often gets lost in text, I just want to confirm that nothing above is meant as anything other than my own musings (some would say rambling!). Stay safe, all the best.
Good God! That's really hot! You are brave to be riding out in that weather. I am from the tropics and even 30°C is too hot for me! In fact anything above 25° is too hot for me. Stay safe buddy
A friend and l were out for a ride near Alcoy a few weeks ago, damn, it was hot! in general the temperature was over 40c ...but shot up to 45/6C when riding through isolated blooms of heat... its the hottest days ride l have ever experienced in Spain....very uncomfortable... like opening a very hot oven door....
It's the most humid on the coast, since measurements began in the 70's. End of july was just a wall of humidity, full of red on the scale. Never before was like that. It's because the sea is now 1C higher than it should be.
If I had your Eire passport Fred and Monica’s nationality I would D be living in Spain now. Spent many years there. Cycled around Valencia many times. Spain still has its heritage. Ur lucky guys.

Fingers crossed for your Bonnie Freddie!
I am amazed how quiet the roads are in Valencia , never been to Spain but I imagined the traffic to be like Italy or Paris , absolute mayhem.
I totally agree with what you said because while watching
Itchy boots, the locals take the bikes on the most testing roads, and the bike just keeps tracking on and on even sitting two or three passengers, and those bikes don't cost thousands that's the kind of bike I want ?
It’s brilliant, isn’t it Ash🙂🤘🏼🏍️ There’s a brilliant video that recently went viral on Instagram of two huge KTM Adv bike riders stuck in thick mud in the middle of nowhere… the camera then pans over to a man whizzing past on a Honda Cub, road tyres, no helmet and a rifle on his back😆
I’m starting to like that little Enfield. But I would have to stuff an intercepter motor into that frame. I’d make it fit somehow
classic 650 being tested by royal enfield now.
Do a video on your trip back
Great series this Valencia series
Well filmed as , Freddie and Monika
Oh please, stop doing that, Freddie! I need a RE Classic 350 right now... hehehe...
Seriously that's a great bike ❤
Cafe 55 is fantastic.
Taiwan is such a beautiful country and full of motorcycles.
@@freeman10000 Yes, everyone has at least one, many have a few .
love your videos. a teeny request, please provide links to your outfits too. thanks freddie and monika!
Man you need to listen to some of re classic 350 in india with modified exhaust 🥶🥶
Believe me after you hear this machine with modified exhaust, you won't like the one that is in uk
Ha. I thought that poster on the wall at 9:48 with the flowing script said Fuct.
The re continental gt offers extremely smlr performance to the boneville t100 for basically half the price!
As for being ‘cool’, that’s about as subjective as it gets 😊
I think as bikers we just need to fully recognise that there’s many different tastes and approaches. Nonetheless, it looks like a nice bike for a lazy ride (but I’d miss the instant torque of my SDR). As tone often gets lost in text, I just want to confirm that nothing above is meant as anything other than my own musings (some would say rambling!).
Stay safe, all the best.
Well, wood it pass the clean air act that's doing the rounds across the eu as well😮
I hope so! They do incredible mpg and pass all the latest emissions standards, so I hope it’s fairly future proofed as a mode of transport👌🏻🙂
You need to own one... give in. It's an absolute bargain and it will be your main ride.
Wow! Even riding at speed- it still feels like a furnace! There’s no escaping it🥵
I've said many, many time its to wet, to cold....never thought I'd hear myself say 'Its to damn Hot!!!@@FreddieDobbs
It's the most humid on the coast, since measurements began in the 70's. End of july was just a wall of humidity, full of red on the scale. Never before was like that. It's because the sea is now 1C higher than it should be.
I didn't know Cafe 55. Sometimes I visit Pure Racer. I think it would like to you.
If I had your Eire passport Fred and Monica’s nationality I would
D be living in Spain now. Spent many years there. Cycled around Valencia many times. Spain still has its heritage. Ur lucky guys.
