It’s easy to see why you get lost for words Dave. That was just lovely.

Thanks for an absolutely lovely ride out Dave. Like yourself lost for words at the beautiful scenery esprit the river running through it. It screams of stopping for a camp or a picnic .
    So …. You’re enjoying retirement Dave…😂😂
Also you were being smiled from above with the weather on the day. Shiny up.

Another stunning part of our glorious county. Have stayed a few days in Halton Gill close to the start of the river. Was a number of years ago. About a dozen of us from work doing some walking. The weather was totally opposite, we got a decent snowfall, but had a great time.

Gorgeous. So much country with no trees to speak of. Reminds me of the arctic barren lands - with roads.

What a wonderful treat Dave, thank you! Currently laid up with a broken rib following a low speed spill on my classic 350 pulling out of a slippery side road so your video was like a medicine to me! Sean

Good morning Dave lovely scenery in this one. Following your trip to Tenerife and the views from the roads. I've just returned from turkey and would recommend a ride from marmaris to turunch, the views are spectacular over the mountains.
Keep them coming, lovely rides on a great little bike.

My wife reckons those terraces are natural. She studied the geology of the Dales when she did her degree, so I'll accept her judgement on that !
And it makes sense to get Tesco to deliver - the nearest supermarkets are in Skipton, so from Littondale it would take you half a day to go there & back and cost you more than the delivery charge in fuel.

Thanks Dave one of my favorite rides. I did it a couple of weeks ago. I found the loose gravel that you mentioned a real problem. Have you tried the gated road bitween Ingleton and Dent? I recomend it. Owing to my age I ride a 110 cc Honda scooter. We met in Bradfield a few weeks ago .

The terraces could be natural as in the Burren in Ireland. There the layers of limestone are separated by thin layers of mudstone. Over time the mudstone washes out and the limestone layer above it collapses, leaving the terracing.

Is it possible that the rock terracing could have been created when stone was being quarried for the building of farmhouses and dry stone walls ?

Yes, definitely. Not the highest of the Dales mountains, but the most recogniseable.
