- Come with us on a sunny cruise and spend a super chill day in the lovely village of Napton. On a whim we put our tiny home into Holiday Mode™️ and decided to set off in search of adventure (and cider). Featuring: rural English countryside, some thoughts on boating as a holiday when you live on a boat, a windmill, a visit to a cidery, fallen electricity pylons (?!) and of course, lots of our usual cruising banter nonsense hehe. (Cc @Artinthecorridor is the gorge print in the village shop!)

The midlands landscapes are very gentle and it's so lovely in good weather to slowly float along listening to birdsong and insects humming and just appreciate it all .🤍

I happen to see you again today(we were visiting our Son in town), still in the same place as before, but you are facing the other way now…the waters are still high but it was busy with boats coming and going, helped a few at the lock. I was going to say hi, Andrew popped out of the bow to clean his boots as we walked past, but I’m a great believer in privacy…so I smiled and walked along!
The boat has great presents, certainly the most impressive at those moorings!
Anyhow….look forward to another stylish vlog soon…best wishes.

No…sleep…till….Napton.!!!! 🎶 🎵 🎼 🎤 Great opening with your One Direction shirt. Andrew is my hero. His understated reactions are epic 😎. When your hat flew back, living up to its special hat attachment technology, his reaction of “Wow” “Wow technology” was brilliant! Just enough emphasis, without prolonging the moment 😂. I loved the walking and drone footage of Napton…I live in upstate NY, and admire you delving into the humongous house in the middle of nowhere. Then there was The Journey. Who knew that cheese and onion bake would lead to such a deep dive. And it all started with a free bake! TED Talk quality 🤩. Kris your narration is amazing ❤ it. Cider is having a comeback here. We lost it during prohibition because the cider apple orchards were cut down and it takes AGES to regrow an orchard. So beer took over after prohibition was repealed. But here in Washington (and Oregon) there is a growing renewal. Lots of good small cideries doing things more like I got in England. So there's hope for the US yet! :P

Another winner👍🏼🥰. The only time I’ve seen pylons collapsed like that was one year we had a terrible ice storm ( Eastern Canada 1998 ) and the ice built up so heavy that it knocked many of them down and some places were months with no power in the dead of winter. They didn’t rebuild the old towers, just put new ones up stronger and as fast as they could. Maybe that’s what knocked them down, maybe google bad ice storms for the area?
Wow, that’s a crazy storm! I know in a lot of areas in the uk they’re moving away from pylons to underground cables, so it’s probably nothing that exciting. But I’d still like to know more!

Well before i got wed . My cider in take was well high , six 3 litre bottles a week . So i had to put a end to that right a way.
So, usually, I have TH-cam playing in the background while I am working or playing a game. When I get a video from you three, I've got to stop. I want to watch your videos and listen at the same time. Most of the time I work with video playing but I truly like getting the whole experience when it comes to your videos. BTW I bought the book Stories For Winter. I'm in California so the seasons will never match up but it does get a little bit cold, well cold by our standards. I'll be there in September for 6 weeks in a hired boat. I'll bring it along for a re-read. Hiya to the whole family.

The British Tourist Board should hire you two to do its’ PR videos. BTW the temperance movement and prohibition in US is thought to be one factor responsible for doing in cider consumption. As was the increase in immigrant populations more accustomed to beer.

i left Napton yesterday, Im now moored at long Itchington. the Folly pub was great and Naptons such a lovely quiet village. the blacksmith boat was there and the weather was kind to me. like you two, i didnt know a thing about napton and i dont plan to research places, im solo CC and i will stop often as at many of the villages and towns i can. Naptons one of the best spots so far for me, along with cropredy and braunston

hi there love your channel and have watched since you moved out of your flat .... ive just got my own narrowboat and at need some electrical work doing i know from your videos you used 3 counties electricals and would like to know would you use them again and did they do a great job for you both ????
Yes, I would recommend without any hesitation. Approaching a year now, and the system has been flawless.

@@user-ky9yt4dg1l No problem at all. I know how difficult it is to find someone. I spent months researching the best options. I talked to a lot of installers; not many people really understood LiFePO4 or the potential issues with alternator charging. Ed blew me away, though. I thought I had learned a decent amount, but he really knows his stuff. Power was my primary concern moving onto the boat, but with the setup we have now, we keep the inverter on 24/7. I can run VMware ESXi servers and a NAS for my work, and even do PC gaming on the weekend. It's really not that different from living in the old flat, apart from having to run the engine to recharge. Ed installed the Wakespeed WS500 for us, so recharging is very fast. I imagine there might be a bit of a wait, but he's worth it.
