One thing about Statins ... There was a recent study in which participants took a statin for a number of weeks and a high percentage of them developed symptpoms which fitted the definition for Alzheimer's with memory, cognition and brain-fog issues and once the statins were stopped, the symptoms all went away !!! This was mentioned by Robert Cywes on his channel.

A great interview. My cholesterol came back at 9.6. This surprised me as I was diagnosed pre diabetic 7 months ago (which I have reversed) and I had not eaten any carbs and sugar within that time. I now know that LDL will increase considerably when not eating carbs and sugar so I am not concerned about this. My other results were good. My doctor rang me and immediately tried to get me to take statins. I said no because I am waiting to have a lipid test which I think should be part of the cholesterol test but I guess it’s too expensive. She then said to me you do know that your arteries are furring up. I said how do you know that. After about 30 seconds she said sorry I should not have said that. I despair. I think I know more about analyzing my results than she did. I’ve taken a lot of time researching and I am determined not to go on statins because of the side effects. Knowledge is king.

Going on a statin just increases your CAC, and it really doesn't stop a heart attack. Reversing my coronary calcium verified by CAC. Linus Pauling Heart Protocol.

    • @raff23able
      @raff23able 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

I would advise that you if you can to pay for a CT angiogram of your coronary arteries. It’s wise to find out what’s going before you implement a plan. I was fit and slim with marginally high Cholesterol. I got diagnosed with Afib and subsequently had a CT angiogram no one excepted it to show an issue. I had over 50% plaque in my LAD. I take a Statin and I eat a proper heart healthy diet. A lot of what Aseem is saying is bang on. But he’s not explaining that a lot of the studies on statins didn’t include diet restrictions. The studies that included dietary markers had very good results. Statins aren’t for everyone at all, he’s correct that they’re widely over prescribed. But if you have plaque in your artery’s they help calcify soft plaque the reduce inflammation and help thin the blood as well as reduce ldl and triglycerides. So anyone with high cholesterol or in their 40s-50s should get a CT calcium score or angiogram, before making any plans based off assumptions. If you’re over 70 don’t stress it.

@@raff23able What you don't realize is the statins can double the rate of progression of calcium further narrowing the arteries not to mention giving you brain fog because the statin is considered a herbicide as it kills cells especially in the liver and elsewhere like your muscles. The statin group only saw a 1% reduction in cardiac events. So a big no thank you from me! I have already reversed my 660 CAC Score by 30% in 20 months on the Linus Pauling Heart Protocol I'm on no pharmaceutical meds.

Exactly. My naturopathic dr wanted to test me for that he put in a vial some brewers yeast for me to stand and hold in my hand with arm out. Omg that instant my brain bounced backwards, eyes rolled behind eyelids knees buckled. He grabbed me and apologized and said yess you do have candida

I'm 67 too, low BP, no diabetes, and high total cholesterol. High LDL like you, 1.3 Triglyc.. The doctor wanted to give me statins, and I refused. Old women don't die from cholesterol. Statistically, the low cholesterol people die twice as much as the high chol. people.

My triglycerides plummeted by going low carb and my HDL went up. Get the triglycerides to HDL ratio below 1 and you’re on the right course. I now eat full fat everything, eat lots of protein, avoid carbs and anything labelled low fat. My palate changed too as discussed. I also put type 2 diabetes into remission within 3 months after being newly diagnosed. I also came off statins and a BP tablet. I chose science over tablets. As a PhD biologist and Chartered Biologist I used my training to fix myself. I now help out on some NHS low carb programmes. Dr John - you should interview Mark Hancock and myself to open peoples eyes.

I was 16st plus for years. I watched what I ate, and didn't budge.
Then I cut out seed oils, and ate more natural fat. Beef, pork lard, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil ect. I also was cutting down a lot of sugar.
I also drank the same 50 to 60 units of alcohol every weekend like I always have, since I was 20 plus. I'm now 42, and since 2 years ago on the new diet. I now weight 13st and I have not starved one bit. I feel so much better, and more ache free. If I cut out the alcohol, I think I would be even lighter. I eat like a king and look much better. Bacon and egg was always a bad thing I was told. To hell with what I was told, I now know better.

I've been telling my patients about the connection between carbohydrates (especially refined sugar) and cholesterol for 20 years. That, and exercise (or lack thereof) affect cholesterol much more than fat intake. A few other important connections: Statins adversely affect CoEnzyme Q10 levels. CoQ10 is an important component of energy production in muscle cells, and the biggest concentration is in your heart muscle. General muscle pain is one of the side effects of statin use, and since the greatest amount of CoQ10 is found in heart muscle, its obvious that taking statins will hurt, not help your heart. Cholesterol plaquing in the blood vessels happens when sugar in the blood damages the lining of the blood vessel walls. Cholesterol is used as a band-aid to cover the injury. Technically, it's not cholesterol that is the problem anyway, it's oxidized cholesterol. Taking antioxidants are helpful. One last observation/suggestion: A fibrinolytic enzyme called Nattokinase gobbles up cholesterol. Combined with lecithin, they act like Drano to clean out your blood vessels. I've had personal experience with that combination when an ultrasound of my carotid arteries showed moderate plaquing. I used Nattokinase and lecithin for the year until the next scan and my arteries were completely clear. You're welcome 🙂

I think the next scandal is Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) for heartburn.
There's a big class action against them here in Aust.
After 20years on them I have learned carbohydrates are a huge problem for me.
I take a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in a shot glass of water before bed, or as needed.
I've also found chewing a sliver of fresh ginger helps stimulate my stomach to empty itself, and eating raw cabbage really soothes an inflamed stomach lining.
It's taken a few months to calm my stomach and I do crave starch and sugar still - but I know I'll suffer if I weaken.

I had a Radial Nerve Palsy! Was diagnosed as having a TIA by a paramedic team, because I couldn't move all my hand, junior Dr followed the paramedics diagnosis". Immediately prescribed Clopidorel & Statins. Despite perfect observations & physical exams, dye CT all clear, brain MRI perfect! I have 30yrs Op Theatres professional career! I refused the prescriptions, yet they still came! Eventually, after 2mths, paid privately £400 for nerve conduction studies! Guess what? I was right! I never took these meds, that could have had adverse side-effects! 18 mnths later got a sack full of meds to take back to my GP!😅 Eventually, this month GP has backed down & taken these unnecessary meds off my record! What a waste! Thankfully, I have knowledge! But, what about the public who have no understanding?
