Another tip that removes stains from white clothing is to spray the stain with a can of white spray paint. Be sure to shake the can before use, also it may take several coats if the stain is set. Besides aspirin, you can throw in some anti depressant medication. I've been adding them to my laundry and my clothes have a much brighter outlook.

A 1/4 cup of baking soda in the wash will eliminate odors from clothing. Wipe out odors and buildup of fabric softener in the dryer with a spray of half vinegar and water. Then, wipe dryer walls dry. Remember the inside of the door. Gently wash lint screen with warm, soapy water and a soft brush to remove build up of lint and fabric softener. Rinse well and allow to air dry.

I've been using dye and scent free Clorox2 for a long time on whites and color clothes forever. I also use a scent and dye free detergent and fabric softener and have never had an issue with clothes stretching or having stains that wont come out. Another thing that can be used that's super cheap is Peroxide added to the wash. I know a lot of people that do it, works great on whites and colors as an additive to your other detergents to lift stains and odors.

THANK YOU! However, I do use vinegar, for the first washing of bright colors, like red. I put the vinegar in the liquid bleach tray, and wash and dry as usual. BTW, we wash using only cold water. Helps save costs, plus, it reduces shrinking. Heavy loads, like sheets and towels, or denims and sweatshirts, I wash on the heavy cycle, but still in cold water. It really helps to protect things like elastic, or anything that has a touch of lycra or nylon. Started doing this after I washed a pair of dungarees and a sweatshirt, only to have them come out "shorter" than when I put them in! Who wants their denim boot-legs to look like crop pants? Or a sweatshirt that only reaches the waist. (Not as warm that way). Plus, we dry everything on "Low". And if you want to have a nice, warm towel after you have a shower, or a warm, cozy sweatshirt or hoodie, just put them in the dryer on low (or medium) for about 15 minutes. Take them right out and use them.

I got brown shoe dye out of a white shirt with my water pic. Just keep flushing the spot from the underside of garment with really cold water and don't rub the dye further in the fibers. Once the water started running clear, for good measure I put it in a basin, added a little oxyclean ( or generic equivalent) and covered it with ice cubes and let them melt on the spot. Since I got to the dye stain before it dried and didn't rub it in the fibers I got it all out.

I can just remember laundry day when it was done in an outhouse. It took a whole morning just to get it washed. Buttons were regularly broken in the mangle. The whites were always brilliant. When twintubs came along laundry could be done more than once a week. It was possible to do the laundry at the same time as getting children fed and ready for school. Then after taking the little ones to school (walking them there) the washing just had to be hung on the line. Just time for a coffee before going to work. Now we poor women have to spend 17 minutes a day doing laundry? Does that include tumble drying or hanging on a washing line? I for one don't begrudge those 17 minutes. I quick tip. Keep your washing machine free of limescale by once a week putting a handful of soda crystals in the washing machine drum and do an empty wash at 60 degree
My washing machine prefers oxy condone. But I think it's hooked on it! 😧 It keeps stealing my socks, probably selling them to the laundrymat on the corner for tide pods! 😧 That's where it all starts. Starts with aspirin, moves on to oxycodone, then onto the dreaded tide pods.🙄
If you have blood on clothes, say lady problems, immediately wash in cold water with soap. Doesn’t matter if it’s hand soap or a bar, just get on it fast and scrub! Most of the time you can get the stains out before you launder.
Actually if u use hydrogen peroxide..it dissolves right then n there..i just do over sink u can soak lil to..it also work if blood spills on carpet, my dog cut paw n had bloody paw print every where just put hydrogen peroxide on each spot then dissolved n scrubbed off with wet wash cloth, towel
Cool. I found out over time, for me, if the stain is fresh, using warm water will do. If it dried, then hydrogen peroxide does better. Also, my clothes seem stubborn with the stain if I use hydrogen peroxide before water.
I avoid ironing at all costs! If my clothes stayed in the dryer too long and are now wrinkled, all I do is lightly spray water on them. I keep a sprayer bottle full of water on my dryer all the time. Then I just run the dryer for about 5 - 10 minutes and take my clothes out as soon as it stops. Voila! My clothes are "ironed" and no need to use the iron. :) You're welcome! :)
To get the cleanest clothes ever, put a little lye in and only a little soap if any. Lye reacts with oils in the clothes to form soap, essentially. Probably wouldn't want to use it on delicate or lightly soiled stuff but really oily stuff can benefit. Just double rinse, or maybe put some lemon juice in the rinse to neutralize any remaining lye.
Plain White Distilled Vinegar is the best fabric softener, deodorizer, and rinse to get out left over suds. Gran taught me that and Nursing school drummed it home.. Bed bound patient washing hair rinse with vinegar water suds gone and de-tangles easier, cut body odor with same especially private parts.. a gallon costs fraction and lasts a long while..
Teresa Vogt - I used vinegar (2 Cups) in the wash when I did my towels to get the built up fabric softener out of the towels. Fabric softener takes the softness out of towels after awhile. Wash on Hot. Do 2nd wash right behind it using 1/2 Cup baking soda. Dry in hot dryer. Use the same formula (vinegar in hot water) going forward and your towels will stay soft. Avoid the fabric softener if you want soft towels! BTW - no vinegar “salad” smell - just fresh, clean smell. Also this works well on sweaty gym clothes that smell. You May need to use warm or cold water but it will get the smell out! Teresa - I added your name to connect the subjects. I’m sure you probably know this already. Also agree about the low cost of using vinegar instead of detergent.
I use sock clips before putting socks in the hamper, run them through the washer/dryer and put the away with the clips on. Keeps them together in the drawer too. Walmart has "multi-purpose hanger clips" that work the same way and much cheaper than the sock clips brand
I used to do that when I lived on my own, but it turned out that by pinning the toes of my socks together, it would damage the toes of the socks, as they would get caught on the latch of the safety pin. I even used a little plastic "gadget" that had "grippers" inside each of two holes. You were supposed to stick the toes (or perhaps even the upper part) of each sock and then wash. I was never happy with that. My husband, on the other hand, always tied his socks together as a pair when single, and he continues to do it to this day. I just "pair" mine by folding over the tops very gently before washing. Sometimes they come out separate, but at least I knew that I put both in to be washed. Keeps me from going nutso.
Baking soda..from the laundry detergent aisle. I've used it in every wash load for decades. I'm 74 yrs.old...my mother & grandmothers used baking soda. I think all the pioneer ladies used it too. Also Borax. I prefer baking soda. Put a hefty scoop in the wash and cut way back on detergent...only use about a tablespoon of detergent per wash load, less for smaller loads. It the clothes have stains, I run the loads longer. Stains always came out.
I learn from my mom to put the white clothes in soapy water and then spread them out in the yard (usually on the grass) to get sun. Once it has been dried, you wash it. It comes out like new!!!
I do the entire household laundry (4 of us). Sheets, clothes, our towels and rags. Just saying; regarding the beginning. Working on my 3rd load as I comment, and fold. I like to fold when it's hot, which saves me from ironing a lot.
Yes! I’ve been known to put a timer on to catch clothes as they come out of the dryer to prevent ironing! Iron IS a four letter word. 😂 Glad we’re on same page.
Turning silk screen printed clothes inside out helping protect the print from fading in the wash. Always add laundry products before your clothes. Helps prevent residual undissolved products from staining.
nobody Uknow Add baking soda, and your favorite essential oil to it . 7 c water 6 c white vinegar 1 c baking soda 20-25 drops of your favorite oil ( mix it up slow, or it will bubble up everywhere 😆) I use the empty gallon jug from white vinegar, to mix it up, in.Make sure you write FABRIC SOFTENER on the bottle 😉 Shake it up each time you use 💁🏽♀️ It works great 👍🏼
I have always used vinegar in the rinse, and if I wanted to soak certain items such as towels and washcloths, after running them through a cycle would fill the washer with water and vinegar and let soak overnight. It removed soap residue and softened the towels. Also, I had someone deep clean my home and she used a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water on all surfaces - counters, floors, furniture - even antiques - windows, mirrors, etc. When I came home, there was no odor. It just smelled 'fresh', as if all the windows and doors had been open all day. After that, the majority of my cleaning is done with white vinegar, baking soda and water..
I decided to give this a try. (I had a small spot on a cherished white t-shirt.) Added LOTS of aspirin and let it soak overnight then washed it. The spot is still there.
I remember back in the day in school we use to have ironing contests to see whose creases would be the sharpest! We had that staflo starch to keep our pants stiff 😂and when we ran out of that we got sum flour and water and sprayed it on our clothes!😁💯
Cheap cola works amazing on oil stains. Soak garment in a litter or amount needed for 4 hours. Then simply wash them. If it's a white garment, wash in bleach water with a scoop of borax or oxy clean. Worked incredibly well on bed linens from my recent move.
17 minutes are you kidding me, takes me that long just to drag and sort the clothes and then folding and putting away! Who came up with this is ridiculous
It's because of people like me who only spend 3 minutes, we bring down the average. (1) don't sort. Sort BEFORE. When you take off you clothes, you don't mix them all in one pile, then sort them 8 hours later. One pile for the washer, one pile for hand wash. Everyone older than 7 and younger than 70 do their own hand wash. (2) dump everything in, pour detergent, 5s. (3) folding, it's all in how picky you are
It's 17 minutes per day. Not per load. Breaking it down per day makes no sense because no one can do laundry that fast. Therefore, the proper time interval should have been per week. 17 x 7 = 119 minutes a week, which is approximately 2 hours per week. This makes far more sense for a load of laundry since it is unlikely that anyone washes a load ever single day.
I came up with this idea on my own some years back. I sometimes use baking soda instead. Just rub the baking soda and cold water into the stain and let it soak for several hours. Now I am going to go try the aspirin version.
I had some very beautiful but fragile 1860 year old baby linen which had gone yellow. Bleach would have destroyed it. I emptied a whole packet of asprin into a bowl and poured boiling water over it . I just left the garment in the bowl for a little while and all the yellow somehow vanished! I am dressing a family in 18th Century costume so am thrilled to have this for the baby. Am just about to starch it. Thank you so much for posting this!
I sort clothes from everyday wear and office clothes, run office clothes and sunday clothes in short cycle and normal for sweaty and and clothes For everyday wear, also wash jeans seperately
Use alum powder after washing your clothes with detergent To remove detergent oil from clothes and it give excellent finish while you iron your clothes
Great information, helpful great to know that there are alternatives to multinationals products that cost a small fortune. ?For you I have 1 dog and if I wash his rugs ( which are bathroom floor mats) then all my clothes are covered in dog hair. Companies are trying to tell me there is no such thing as a lint filter on a front loading washing machine. So is the dog hair just staying in the machine and then attaching to my clothes and is it just going straight down the drain to block my drain ???? HELP 🤬
Oriental rugs ... if puppy has an accident (even if it has dried) ... liquid or solid ... 1/2 cup Vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon liquid dish soap (Dawn is my favorite) in a gallon of water, spray on rug (or using a rug shampooer is even better), let set about 15 minutes ... paper towels to soak it up (or a wet/dry machine) and the stains are gone. The one I did looked better than the day it was purchased (the owner never knew there were gold strands of thread through-out the rug until after I cleaned it).
hey guys - lots of people assume there is room in anybody's house to do something which takes up lots of room! Guess what, if you live in an apt., there is no room! especially if some people work at home. maybe overnight? nope, some one works late and needs the shower (clothes in the tub). But, you do tell us we can add the aspirin to the washer - so thanks - great to know. :}
Lemon juice will do the same thing as aspirin. It's the citric acid in it. If you have a soaker sink simply put a cup of lemon juice in the water and let your whites soak for a few hours prior to laundering. If you put a cup in each washer load it will help keep your whites bright.
Soak rag/or single sock with laundry fabric softener and put it it in the dryer instead of dryer sheets. Be careful not to use too much softener or it will turn the inside of your dryer blue.
I had an artist friend who had limited space in her Brooklyn studio apartment. She used to stack her clothes according to the color spectrum, with reds, oranges, yellows at the top, greens, blues, and violets/purples at the bottom! Used to tease her unmercifully, and called her "obsessive-compulsive".
@ around 1:50 into the video the narrator says something like "and then dry your clothes in the sun ..." while sunlight is vital to our lives (after all it's God's light, right?) and drying washed clothes under the Sun also kills germs very effectively, however, it's not recommended for drying washed clothes of ANY color, including whites, simply because excessive exposure to bright sunlight, especially at high noon and particularly in summertime, fades the dyes used in the colors of the garments! remember: brightly shining white clothes also are made using white "dyes" in them too! before that, we hear in the video how darker color clothes fade less ... that's another misconception just as well ... dyes of any color DO fade after a while EVEN IF you're quite careful in treating the fabrics right and wash them according to specs recommended by the manufacturer ... and again, fading of all color dyes happens much faster when they are dried under strong sunlight AND/OR using too much heat in the dryer machine, which also damages the fabric structure itself just as well! if you notice closely, you'll see how 'dull' certain dark (even black) garments look after a while ... that's because of use as well as washing style abuse! last but not least: if you wash (or even dry clean) ANY garment more than needed, you'll damage it no matter what even if it's a high quality and expensive textile! _ _ _ want to really take care of those fancy garments you love? - wash same/similar colors together and NEVER mix them... unless you don't care for the color mixup and dull/faded looks! - wash whites separately! and if they look dull ("faded") after a while, NEVER use Clorox or similar strong 'whitening' bleach material to brighten them back! just use color bleach for whites too! (and make sure you follow the washing instructions on the garment closely! read below for more please!) - NEVER use extremely hot water to wash fine fabric! the above means you'd always use warm to mildly hot water for washing most fabrics, while cold water (regular cold tap temperature, around 30°C (80°F) max!) is quite suitable ... - extremely fine fabrics (pure as well as some artificial silk, certain cotton textiles, most material woven of pure wool and so on) are to be washed using cold water and done by hand ONLY using mild detergent! cold, in this case, means below 30°C (80°F) but certainly not near-frozen water temperature ... "hands-only" can be replaced with certain 'slow/gentle' washing machine cycles as long as you're sure the machine does work right on that setting! mild detergent also means you better not wear such fabrics for so long as they might get too dirty to be cleanable at lower temperatures with milder detergents ... - wash all garments inside out so their outer side (the one always visible when worn) doesn't get damage quickly! in case of pants, before turning them inside out, make sure you zip them up fully and do the button-up thing as well ... dry them in the same manner just as well ... - last but not least: NEVER EVER dry washed clothes (fine fabrics in particular) under strong sunlight, or in a too hot / too long dryer setting! if you do so, no more than 20 minutes of direct noontime sunlight is needed really! (an hour max!) ... then, if the garments are still wet (very likely in case of whites in particular) move them to shade ASAP if possible! otherwise, use shade ONLY! the idea is, all garments and textiles get damaged easier when too dry and with all the water drained out of them! besides, if you're going to iron some garments later, you'd need them wet, don't you? (some washing machines actually have a special 'last rinse' setting for that ...) bottom line: use common sense! (don't have one? try to acquire it then!) ;-)
This is the simplest and best advice for washing laundry...👍 I always tell everyone... Washing laundry is no rocket science...Plain simple common sense and a little awareness about fabrics ..Detergents... And technique will get the job done...👍
For grease and some other stains scrub in gojo hand cleaner while stained fabric is still dry, before washing, let set till dry like overnight then simply wash in washer.
"You need 10 aspirin @ 325 mg tablets per gallon of water... soak clothes for 8 hours..." I've got a better idea: put your clothes in the machine add the detergent then press start
My grandmother used lemon juice and sunshine to get stains out of whites. Bleach will burn a hole in the sunshine. I don't where white because I'm a dirty dirty worker. So I can't say how well it works.

Do you have another name for 'soda crystals', please?
It's sodium carbonate, also called washing soda and soda ashe
I hate when my washing machine gets sick!
But no more!
Thanks for the tip guys!
I use peroxide to get blood stains it's easy pour it on let it bubble up then wipe it off. I had a cut on my leg and got blood on my towel. It works
I found that Tylenol works better. From time to time I let my machine light up a J.
Lol
My washing machine prefers oxy condone. But I think it's hooked on it! 😧 It keeps stealing my socks, probably selling them to the laundrymat on the corner for tide pods! 😧 That's where it all starts. Starts with aspirin, moves on to oxycodone, then onto the dreaded tide pods.🙄
Best comments ever!
🤣
My kinda guy!
If you have blood on clothes, say lady problems, immediately wash in cold water with soap. Doesn’t matter if it’s hand soap or a bar, just get on it fast and scrub! Most of the time you can get the stains out before you launder.
Salt on stain will draw it out. Dampen with cold water. For bigger stains, soak whole garment in cold salt water.
Jack and Danny juice
Cool. I found out over time, for me, if the stain is fresh, using warm water will do. If it dried, then hydrogen peroxide does better. Also, my clothes seem stubborn with the stain if I use hydrogen peroxide before water.
Sheets don’t wrinkle if you hang them to dry and they also don’t wear out as fast as if dried in a clothes drier
I do something similar, it really helps. I wet a small towel and put it in with wrinkled clothes. But I'll try the spray bottle one for sure.
I didn’t know about aspirin. I will definitely give it a try on my next wash but 10 aspirins seem like a whole lot.
Another tip, *DON'T* allow the item to dry! Drying an item that's stained, sets it in! Keep it wet & continue to wash it, until it's gone!
Yea I ain't spending more money after the first wash, since I live in Brooklyn and have to go to the local laundry wash to wash my cloths

Nice! Plus....who doesn't love smelling like a salad? Bonus!
Your body doesn't smell anymore but your clothes smell like a salad...
My grandmother taught me to safety pin socks together so you always have mated socks.
The most important thing about washing socks is to get ALL of them out of the hamper and into the washer.
Or you can use a delicates bags
Baking soda..from the laundry detergent aisle. I've used it in every wash load for decades.
I'm 74 yrs.old...my mother & grandmothers used baking soda. I think all the pioneer ladies
used it too. Also Borax. I prefer baking soda. Put a hefty scoop in the wash and cut way
back on detergent...only use about a tablespoon of detergent per wash load, less for
smaller loads. It the clothes have stains, I run the loads longer. Stains always came out.
Borax is carcinogenic. No longer on sale to the public in EU.
Put tennis balls in the dryer with comforters and anything else that will need fluffing.
Do not use tennis balls in dryer, as the tennis balls give off a poisionas gas from them
You're right! My husband's balls are much fluffier now.
I do it and it works on bedspreads, comforters and pillows I always use 3
@Appleita, I was thinking of something *else* when I read that.
😂😂😂😂
I learn from my mom to put the white clothes in soapy water and then spread them out in the yard (usually on the grass) to get sun. Once it has been dried, you wash it. It comes out like new!!!

Nothing like adding steps & making laundry more complicated!!
I throw all my laundry together.. Tbh nothing happens to my whites.. It all comes out clean and stain free..
Samantha So-C lol seems rainbow is a new White for u🤣
Same
Lol
Same, the only time I go all white is if I do a bleach load.
I guess you've never put a new pair of jeans in with something light. The white does NOT stay white.
Great video. Good to know. Thanks bright side.
Removes the headache that you're giving the washing machine
TheSilentbullet 42 😂😂😂
lol
Why oh why am I obsessed with all these hacks I love them maybe it's my O.C.D kicking in 😂
Some socks get sticky on the metal inside the washer. U can rotate this metal n feel hidden corners for stucked socks or loose coins
I actually love doing laundry.
Peroxide will remove blood stains even if the stain is years old!
Trane Sonic well she’s a women and all women know how to get rid of blood stains 🙃
Awesome, does it as well
🤔 thanks for that information.
Why bloodstains
I know this to be true. It's great and saves money. You
2:35 is useful when your trying to get away with murder😂
Clorox will
Clean your washer
About 1 plus cup
In a large load
Set it Normal and let it completely go through the cycle. It works great
ANY brand of bleach will work just fine.
Turning silk screen printed clothes inside out helping protect the print from fading in the wash.
Always add laundry products before your clothes. Helps prevent residual undissolved products from staining.
The asprins prevent the washing machines from being dizzy 😂
Very useful advice given 🙋♀️
Goodbye headaches, I'm bout to become a aspirin lol
Let's become fella
Tendii nada alguém pode me dizer o que acontece pf😁
Great tip, next time will try with Aspirin
Vinegar as fabric softener. Has anybody else heard of that? It does work and the vinegar smell does fade quickly.
nobody Uknow
Add baking soda, and your favorite essential oil to it .
7 c water
6 c white vinegar
1 c baking soda
20-25 drops of your favorite oil
( mix it up slow, or it will bubble up everywhere 😆)
I use the empty gallon jug from white vinegar, to mix it up, in.Make sure you write FABRIC SOFTENER on the bottle 😉
Shake it up each time you use 💁🏽♀️
It works great 👍🏼
Thanks!
It does work.
Vinegar can be distilled, meaning that it will evaporate in the dryer- FACT
I decided to give this a try. (I had a small spot on a cherished white t-shirt.) Added LOTS of aspirin and let it soak overnight then washed it. The spot is still there.
LOL !! yes but your machine is feeling much better :-)
Yep! I used to use a coke can washing my husband's oil stains from work.
And cleans tolits. I no longer drink it tho..
17 minutes are you kidding me, takes me that long just to drag and sort the clothes and then folding and putting away! Who came up with this is ridiculous
1ampixie don’t we wish it was only 17 min!
1ampixie , what about ironing???
I came up with this idea on my own some years back. I sometimes use baking soda instead. Just rub the baking soda and cold water into the stain and let it soak for several hours. Now I am going to go try the aspirin version.
Adding salt to the wash also works by lowering the surface tension to let water and soap into stain to do their job!
I remove oil stains with corn starch.👍
I had some very beautiful but fragile 1860 year old baby linen which had gone yellow. Bleach would have destroyed it. I emptied a whole packet of asprin into a bowl and poured boiling water over it . I just left the garment in the bowl for a little while and all the yellow somehow vanished! I am dressing a family in 18th Century costume so am thrilled to have this for the baby. Am just about to starch it. Thank you so much for posting this!
Hydrogen peroxide is also great for blood stains.
I do this, too! A must have for all ladies. ;)
I sort clothes from everyday wear and office clothes, run office clothes and sunday clothes in short cycle and normal for sweaty and and clothes For everyday wear, also wash jeans seperately
Murphy's oil soap is excellent for removing blood stains. Murphy's oil soap is excellent for treating unknown stains. Thanks
Use alum powder after washing your clothes with detergent
To remove detergent oil from clothes and it give excellent finish while you iron your clothes
I dunno what you mean. to remove detergent or remove oil?
Dear me cold water removes fresh blood anyway with a little detergent or soap so why would you need an aspirin?
Remember he said for our stains (yellow/brownish or grayish) under arms
Thank-you for that tip, I have to try it.
This tip will save me a lot of headaches. 😂
So many great tips in the comments. Thanks.
I added aspirin to my washing machine and now my headache is gone. Thanks for the info.
I love all this ideas!!!
My awesome wife does do our laundry, and I give her foot rubs whenever she wants!
HELP 🤬
there is nothing about limescale - you know that stuff that actually kills washers, you need citric acid and run on the hottest wash setting
Is "lime-a-way" safe to use in the washer? NOT to clean clothing. But to clean out the washer? Does anyone KNOW--NOT guess.
Vinegar also dissolves lime scale and is much cheaper.
Asprin whitens clothes thats a new one☺thx
It made my tide pods taste funny.
When your washer sounds weird put a asprin in your washer to heal it's throat.
I actually have always used bags for my socks and small articles
hey guys - lots of people assume there is room in anybody's house to do something
which takes up lots of room! Guess what, if you live in an apt., there is no room!
especially if some people work at home. maybe overnight? nope, some one works late
and needs the shower (clothes in the tub). But, you do tell us we can add the aspirin
to the washer - so thanks - great to know. :}
Lemon juice will do the same thing as aspirin. It's the citric acid in it. If you have a soaker sink simply put a cup of lemon juice in the water and let your whites soak for a few hours prior to laundering. If you put a cup in each washer load it will help keep your whites bright.
I think I might try mouthwash and Shout in equal parts plus an entire bottle of ibuprofen.
Stubborn stains can be a real headache.
Soak rag/or single sock with laundry fabric softener and put it it in the dryer instead of dryer sheets.
Be careful not to use too much softener or it will turn the inside of your dryer blue.
I sort my laundry alphabetically.
Putting aspirants in your wash machine takes the headache out of doing laundry😂😂😂
@ around 1:50 into the video the narrator says something like "and then dry your clothes in the sun ..."
while sunlight is vital to our lives (after all it's God's light, right?) and drying washed clothes under the Sun also kills germs very effectively, however, it's not recommended for drying washed clothes of ANY color, including whites, simply because excessive exposure to bright sunlight, especially at high noon and particularly in summertime, fades the dyes used in the colors of the garments!
remember: brightly shining white clothes also are made using white "dyes" in them too!
before that, we hear in the video how darker color clothes fade less ...
that's another misconception just as well ... dyes of any color DO fade after a while EVEN IF you're quite careful in treating the fabrics right and wash them according to specs recommended by the manufacturer ...
and again, fading of all color dyes happens much faster when they are dried under strong sunlight AND/OR using too much heat in the dryer machine, which also damages the fabric structure itself just as well!
if you notice closely, you'll see how 'dull' certain dark (even black) garments look after a while ... that's because of use as well as washing style abuse!
last but not least: if you wash (or even dry clean) ANY garment more than needed, you'll damage it no matter what even if it's a high quality and expensive textile!
_ _ _
want to really take care of those fancy garments you love?
- wash same/similar colors together and NEVER mix them...
unless you don't care for the color mixup and dull/faded looks!
- wash whites separately!
and if they look dull ("faded") after a while, NEVER use Clorox or similar strong 'whitening' bleach material to brighten them back! just use color bleach for whites too! (and make sure you follow the washing instructions on the garment closely! read below for more please!)
- NEVER use extremely hot water to wash fine fabric!
the above means you'd always use warm to mildly hot water for washing most fabrics, while cold water (regular cold tap temperature, around 30°C (80°F) max!) is quite suitable ...
(some washing machines actually have a special 'last rinse' setting for that ...)
bottom line: use common sense!
(don't have one? try to acquire it then!) ;-)
This is the simplest and best advice for washing laundry...👍 I always tell everyone... Washing laundry is no rocket science...Plain simple common sense and a little awareness about fabrics
..Detergents... And technique will get the job done...👍
for grease stains. spray and wash, dawn dish soap, brush into fabric with a nail brush.
Now your machine is addicted to Aspirin.
Thank you so... Much of your sharing does help a lot.
BORAX is great too!
Thank my
My grandmother used lemon juice and sunshine to get stains out of whites. Bleach will burn a hole in the sunshine. I don't where white because I'm a dirty dirty worker. So I can't say how well it works.
