    So excited to work on this quilt!! Thank you for the wonderful video today. I cut my 989 squares from my purple scrap bin - it was overflowing 😮 For my background, I am doing scrappy white on whites from my black & white bin. I figured out that 100 squares weighs about 58 grams on my kitchen scale. So instead of counting, I weighed my squares to cut . I will have a few extras, but they will just go back in the 2.5 inch square bin. Looking forward to working on this Scrap-along 😊

    Hi Corey! I would love to see a tour of your sewing room. The wall of fabric behind you in your videos looks so nice and organized! Is the rest of your sewing room that organized? I think we would all like to know! :-) Thank you Corey! I am a huge fan of your fabric lines, one of my top favs! Thanks for all that you do and have a blessed day!

    One of my current WIPs is a quilt with dresden blocks that I am enjoying a lot, so I was happy to see your dresden blocks featured again. I really like the sashing choice you made and agree the red dots aren't right for cornerstones on your blocks. The yellow will look nice and the black might make too stark a contrast but I like that idea, too. I am making the full sized scrappy Irish chain blocks. I have only 17 of the 25 blocks completed at this time as this project is one that I just do one block at a time in between the completion of one quilt and the beginning of the next. I find this a nice way to shift gears between one project and the next so it's stress-free and relaxing. Seeing each block finished makes me happy and I am looking forward to the day it will be completed. Thank you so much for everything you share with us.

    • @CorianderQuilts

    Yay! Your quilt is going to be so beautiful!!! After looking at what I want to put into this - fabrics handed down from from my grandmothers - they are mostly darker, cream based, and outdated. After looking at Pinterest, I think I am going to go with black where the white is, and.... I still don't know what I will use where your charcoal will be...maybe red or green. Lol, it may not be pretty in the end, but it will use stash, and definitely be utilitarian for my household - which is not the best at keeping whites white.
    Also, just in case you need another video idea down the road; you mentioned how you organize your scraps. How do you organize your stash? Knowing that you use other designers fabrics, how do you store them??? Do you store them in sections by themselves, colors with like colors? This is my newest dilemma, in trying to organize my sewing room.

    I've cut many 2.5 inch squares and about a third of my accent, a yellow tone on tone. I did not like cutting up charm packs; only the Moda ones worked! I'm using a small scale green and white print for the white, none of which is cut yet! Thank you so much for that cutting chart!

    I'm looking forward to making this quilt! I have an Irish chain quilt that my great-grandmother made back in the 1930's. I was told it was a double pinks as the fabric (a small floral on a pink background) is in 2 shades of pink. I love it and I don't think it has ever been on a bed. It looks like it was actually finished by my grandmother because she used sheets to back her quilts and this one is definitely backed my a 1970's vintage sheet and my great-grandmother was gone then. If I can find some fabric that I could find in 2 different shades of the same color then I may try that.

    Corey, I have a request. You have a print in your Strawberry Jam collection that is my all time favorite background fabric. It is a white background print with tiny little multi colored + signs scattered all over it. ❤ it so much. I’m using my last bits from my stash in my Sewcialites 2 quilt. Would you consider another similar print in your next collection? The dots with + signs in Sunwashed are very similar but a little heavy for a background. Thanks for considering!! Love your fabrics!

    • @CorianderQuilts
      @CorianderQuilts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually have! It's called x-print and it's been in a number of my fabric lines since Strawberry Jam. It's the same as the plus print but the shapes are rotated 1/4 turn creating x's rather than +'s. I plan to bring it back every now and again...it's in Sunwashed (but no multi) and I'm sure it will be in future collections.

    Great video! Thanks for the corrections and cutting layout. Your layout calls for 3 yards of background, and the pattern requirement calls for 2.5 yards. I’ve already started cutting my background and have only 2.5 yards. Should I select a different (3 yd) background piece?

    Note from my experience.. I chose a directional fabric for the feature and this leads to have Ng an upside down or sideways on the tips And sides.
    It wasn’t a dealbreaker. I just had to make adjustments using a different fabric since I did not want my prints to be upside down or sideways. In hindsight, I would’ve chosen some thing that was not a directional print.

    • @CorianderQuilts
      @CorianderQuilts  2 ปีที่แล้ว
