Oh speaking of putting on things to listen to while sewing... I love to listen to the Glenn Miller band while sewing. Way before my time but great music!! And relaxing 😁
I made one of these for my daughter in law this past year. She loves cows so I done it in Tara Reeds barn fabric collections. It was really cute! This is one of my favorite quilts to make because there's no real thought to it. Just relax and go!
Lori, I absolutely LOVE your way of doing this kind of quilt/project. Your fabrics are so happy and your methods help people like me to feel like I can accomplish this. This quilt is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE calico quilts and I LOVE color and this just speaks to me in every way. I have so many scraps in bits and pieces and it's clogging up my fabric stash. I'm so going to make this quilt. Your colors and projects are full of joy and have helped me so much in this difficult time in this country and in my healing from illness. Everything you make is joyful as well as how you have surrounded yourself in your shop. I love your sewing machine and I thank you for celebrating the "old ways" (keeping it simple with straight stitch) while embracing the modern with the techniques and tools you use to help make these projects "doable" for folks like me. You have surrounded yourself with joy and in so doing you are passing it along to people like me. I plan on making your strip pillow for my living room and this quilt to go with it on the sofa back. Thank you for all you do through this channel to inspire!
I love how you cut and organized the pieces so you can sit down and start sewing without much thinking. I too love scrappy and am enjoying the scrappiness book and sew along. I haven’t been able to purchase any of your fabrics yet, but it doesn’t matter, I can use what I have and that’s fun!
Love this video and your style of quilting. It is comforting and inspiring to watch your videos. I would love to make this in Christmas fabrics as well as this colorful version. I watched Lark Rise to Candleford years ago and loved it. Cranford is another favorite. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
I really enjoy your videos! I was thinking since I have many different bundles of different lines, that I should use them as you do. Just cut them up! Many I will sell to buy more of yours, but for the ones I really like, I will cut them up! Thanks for this series!!
Lori, I can see why you like sewing these scrappy log blocks, it looks very addicting and obviously very attractive when all sewn together. I truly enjoy watching all of your tutorials, they always leave me feeling inspired and ready to sew.🧵✂🪡
I’m working on my design boards and cutting strips!!!!!. I’ve been so inspired by your videos that I’ve put house cleaning on forget! Love your collection of Featherweight machines - wish I had my mother’s machine from the 1950’s. Take care- Debbie, South Carolina
I never liked the log cabin block until I saw it made with bright colors. Your different widths of strips make the block that much more fun. Thanks, Lori!
Oh gosh I love these Blocks! You are such a huge inspiration to so many people! Your videos are very thorough and so easy to follow all the directions. Thank you for all your wonderful designs and taking the time to share. I just have to tell you the music that you play gives me the happiest feeling. I think it is because I relate it to your amazing videos and I just want to see every minute of what you are doing and making! Thanks for another wonderful floss tube!
I do like how easy it is to make these blocks and thank you for showing us all the measurements for strips to cut for each block. I too love the 14-hour series of "Lark Rise to Candleford". I bought the series back in 2013 for a terrific sale price of $42.99 and thought it was such a bargain then (retail at the time was $136.99. Out of curiosity, I checked the price today and see it's down to $63.95. But there's even better prices on ebay right now, starting at $26.99 and more than a few for less than $30. I highly recommend this series especially for family viewing. So anyone else reading this, I don't think you'll be at all disappointed in the purchase, and like Lori and myself will want to watch it more than once - yes, it's that good! 😀
Lori I just want to say thank you so much for sharing the way you do everything. it really helps so much to have it broken down the way you do it. it's not overwhelming and you can actually do it. You inspire me every time I watch you. I really appreciate all you do
Lori I have learned so much from watching your videos.I just want to thank you for all you do to help me become a better quilter & sewer.I love all your scrappy videos especially.I bought the papers for sewing some of the other scraps quilts from fat quarter shop. You are one very talented lady.May God continue to bless you & keep you safe.
Oh my goodness I see what you mean now I totally love it I got to start my strip cutting like you do thank you so much for this Block it’s beautiful you are such a good teacher I am so blessed to have someone like you to teach me something new thank you ❣️❣️🧵🥰❤️💕
I so appreciate your generosity of taking time out of your very busy day(s) to share your talent and creativity with the world. It's a gift, that's for sure! Thank you so much! I love your take on the Log Cabin block with the large centers and different width logs. I like cutting all my strips to the needed lengths before hand too. As you touched on, cutting strips in advance allows these blocks to be strip pieced and before you know it; a quilt is born! PS: I love Lark Rise to Candleford!
Oh I like this! I haven't made one because I just don't like having lights on one side and darks on the other. That's all I ever see so this makes it so much more interesting! Yea now I want to make one!
Love all your projects. Your directions are so clear. You are so organized, which I love. . Thank you so much. U r so talented. Thank you, again, for sharing everything with us.
Your sewing room takes me back to my childhood watching my grandma piece together quilts made from old clothes and the printed flour sacks. She never owned a sewing machine but made hand pieced guilts with the neighbor ladies. Good memories. Thanks for sharing
Oh Lori - these melt my heart! You are definitely the Queen of beautiful scrappy quilt patterns. I just love your tutorials, and the 'fun' you put into sewing - even when using up our fabric scraps. Thank you again!!
I was so happy when I saw a new Sew Your Stash video! You have inspired me so much to be more organized and to use some of my older neglected fabrics. It's like seeing an old friend when I pull out a scrap that I haven't used in years. Like you said, a trip down memory lane.
Such a great tutorial!! I look forward to Friday to see your tutorials. You are amazing and so generous to share your ideas. Love, Love, Love everything you make and present in tutorials for us.
Lori, your Sew Your Stash Series is so valuable, I love it. Thank you for all the great ideas. I am a scrap lover and beg my friends for anything bigger than 1 inch
Thank you for suggesting the series, I am enjoying it so much! “Lark rise to Candleford” I don’t watch much TV because there are few good movies with good messages.
That’s awesome Lori I’m trying to set up my sewing room too and you are right sewing is calming .Thank you for sharing. I will make sure to get a TV and small couch to go in there as well.
I love sewing regular log cabin blocks so I am sure I will enjoy this one too. I like that you used all dark fabrics instead of the normal half-lights/half-dark blocks. I would probably have never thought to do this. I also like that you used two different width fabrics making it easier to use up those scraps. Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I don’t know how you design fabric and all this sewing, etc. but I sure am glad you do. I always find something that inspires me and my husband knows that when your new lines come out that I am buying it whether or not I know what I am going to make out of it. LOL!!! Luckily, he likes it too and it makes me happy. Many thanks!
