Love you, guys!!!!
that solo ❤️
So much love :)
I love YOU!
We love you!
Come to VIRGINIA
Gave it a like in the first minute because JULES BUCKLEY SPEAKS
The collab that no one asked for but we all wanted
ingredients: take snarky put some internet juice inside, sprinkle some Collier and keep it in a Metropole temperature for 6:08 minutes.
i think the corona made us realize that we dont need to fly anywhere, where already in the right place.
I can't even imagine the time and effort to "orkestrate" such an endeavor...but they Didi it and it was superb. Well done!!!
who else recognised the dinosaur onesie instantly
and wondered if maybe you've been watching too many of his livestreams
Peter Tiehuis on guitar is GREAT...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Probably the most underrated guitarist in jazz.
The sound guy must’ve *really* had his work cut out for him. Props to the mixer.
Never thought that Kurt and Jacob would appear in the same video.
Track features the guitar player a heap - he deserves a credit. Sounds killer
Young Jules. Amazing as usual. Old Kurt is the virtual band leader here. Michael League is sorta buried in the Brady Bunch squares (until the end where his square comes forward). Jacob Collier provides an (unsurprisingly) world-class keyboard solo. :-)
Well summarized!! 👍👍👍
I feel I must mention guitarist PETER TIEHUIS here as well.
What did I just witness. Master musicianship at it's jazzy finest!
How utterly righteous
My goodness, Jacobs solo is insane
Yep ❤
who needs two hands anyways?
@@Thombon everybody gangsta until Collier enters
His hand just glides over those keys so effortlessly
So awesome that even COVID can't keep great musicians from getting together and making great music!
Absolute topklasse.
3:20- 3:26 Just starts going through changes that aren't even there. Dude is next level.
that is some cory henry quasi-free jazz stuff. now we know he can do that too!
I would love to see a transcription of his solo
I get so used to hearing him play chords all the time, that I sort of forget how incredibly melodically interesting his playing is. Not to mention his phrasing and feel. Adding on to the already giant heap of things that Jacob can do that most of us can’t lol
@@stephenrodgers9698 paging June Lee...
Can someoneee explainn what progressions did Jacob use? All i know is It sounds off the chord, jjust it 😭
By far the best quarantine collab
SHOUT OUT TO THE EDITOR, THE REAL SUPERSTAR 👌🏾
That was a cool drink of water, with a squeeze of lemon. Ahhhhhhh...💜💜💜💜💜
COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just love Metropole Orkest cuz they love jazz! One of the best Orchestral Group out there!
Wow, wow, wow, it's like the jazz festival in one piece ! Bravo everybody from Montréal. Québec, Canada.
The instant guitar crunch at the start oh my LORD
Spankin' it y'all...Orchestral funk swing....We likes it....
So true 👍
Wow, so glad I stumbled upon this! FANtastic!
SUPER COOL !! SALUTE !!
Énorme !
Exceptionnelle version de ce standard d'Eddy Harris
This quarantine has added another way for us to enjoy music and if this is what it sounds like...I’m in!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The lack of rapturous applause (that is rightly deserved) at the end is a stark reminder of our times. But you guys smashed this, especially the ones doing the video and audio engineering. Amazing performance full stop, even more so that you were all remote.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I cannot even begin to explain how much I enjoyed those solos
No words to describe this
That bass trombone in the beginning 🥰
VERY "Quincy 1960's".
Especially the low octave. Reminds a bit to Doc Kupka‘s baritone 😉
Our generation has been blessed with internet and innovative tech during an outbreak. I'm almost guessing what the generation during the Spanish flu and black plague era, did in quarantine without internet.
Oh hell yes that was good so tight and love the guest appearances. Thankyou all x
Incredible, awesome, marvelous, breathtaking, brilliant with a crazy vibe! No wonder you guys are in the absolute best orchestra in the world!!!!!
Just...In...Cre..Dible! Wow! 🙌🏻
Really made that snare sound great! I mean, props to the hundreds of other musicians for their countless hours of practice, but that snare sounds sick.
Yeahhhhh, that moment when Kurt Elling enters the show 🤩😮
Thanks for the gift to the humanity.
Pleasure!!!
This excellent music will never stop!!!

gave me chills, from the first note and then to hear Kurt coming in, wow. nice. Al Jarreau would be so proud. nice
JUST WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I often do this tune, even as a one-manband, but this is 1000 x what I do or ever will. Congrats on a great job!

Love the arrangement, a fitting tribute to Mr Jarreau, love the guests, love this orkest !
Al Jarreau arrengment he did not write tune. Eddie Harris did
Love the drummer's Louis Cole-esque sartorial demeanour
Yes! amazing performance, arrangement, mix and editing!
Mix was amazing.
Would be interested to know how he got a good blend from the individual strings...
I’m a simple man, i see jacob i clickk. Ends up loving the whole performance and performer
That's some quality squad right here! Thanks for the music!
Without a Playboy Jazz festival at the Hollywood Bowl this year, this is truly the next best thing!! This is Amazing!!
Fantastic!
Masterpiece!!! Love and admiration!
sick
feel i haven't heard Jacob solo with much motif-based/melodic-based improvisation until this point (3:13-3:16). what a treat!
This sounds like the Larry Williams arrangement as done by Al Jarreau featuring the great Ross Bolton on guitar solo...the guy here does a very good rendition himself ...❤❤
Danke, danke, danke, ganz großes Kino!
Love the transition from Jacob back to Kurt, tasteful 🙂
Omg, I love it! So innovative and I love watching everyone perform together! 💗
Same😎😀
That's my son, below, Gloria!
That was spectacular!
