One common suggestion is that Nero was accused of starting the great fire and blamed the small band of Christians in Rome at the time. Either because they were suspected, or to divert criticisms onto others. As with most things at that time, we don't really know. The Christian tradition of widespread persecution is wildly overstated.
Nero had never heard of Christians. The Romans under Constantine legitimised Christianity in 325 ad. The retrospective doctorings of the story, are Christian attempts to fill in the blanks to their lies.

I appreciate your perspective, but dismissing the existence of the historical Jesus is a weak argument. The overwhelming consensus among historians and scholars, including non-Christian sources, is that Jesus of Nazareth was a historical figure. Evidence comes from sources like Tacitus and Josephus, along with early Christian and Jewish writings. The debate over Jesus’ divinity is separate, but denying his existence contradicts established historical research and documentation.
Josephus wrote about Jesus around 93-94AD, Tacitus around 116AD. Neither was even born around the time Jesus is reported to have been crucified. Neither is a contemporary historical source. Josephus’ writings, particularly references to Jesus performing miracles, are widely accepted by historians to have been altered by the church centuries later. I would regard neither as a definitive source of the existence of Jesus. But even if one acknowledges Jesus did exist, that is mundane. It in no way proves the claims that Jesus performed miracles or rose from the dead, any more than accepting that David Koresh existed in the 1990s validates that his claims to be the returned messiah were true.
@@batking911Miracles are not mentioned in any “Hebrew “ text as aspects of the messiah, but only to bring world peace and awareness of his God to the world, everyone is to worship in one pure language and fathers turn to their son’s and sons to their fathers, nations were to turn weapons to cultivation equipment , he himself was to bring a sin offering for unintentional sin. Jesus did come back when He said He would come back. That is not in our future. It happened in 70AD when the end of old covenant Israel took place with the destruction of the temple. Jesus brought in the new covenant of the Spirit in which there is eternal life for all those who believe. Sadly, the majority of Christians put Christ's return into our future when it explicitly teaches that all those things were to take place within that generation.

Such a common error amongst sinners who think they have Matthew 16:28 all figured out to debunk The Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said what He meant and He meant what He said. The "some standing here would not see death" were Peter, James, and John. You only have to go to the next chapter Matthew 17 to see the fulfillment of it....the mount of Transfiguration. The claim that Jesus was supposed to return within the lifetime of his apostles and didn’t, is based on a misinterpretation. Jesus’ statements about “this generation” are understood by many scholars as referring to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE, not his final return. As for the idea that Jesus was a fictional character created by the Romans, this theory isn’t supported by historical evidence. Early Christian writings, predating 70 CE, show that Christianity started as a grassroots movement, not a Roman invention. The notion that Christianity was used solely to control and manipulate people is an oversimplification. While it’s true that some have misused religion for power, the core teachings of Christianity emphasize love, compassion, and justice. The fear of God or the idea of “last days” is often misunderstood. For Christians, it’s not about control but about living in a way that’s aligned with God's will, regardless of when the end might come. The argument that Christianity is all about fear and manipulation ignores the positive impact it has had on countless lives, inspiring acts of charity, justice, and kindness throughout history. Christianity is more complex and multifaceted than what is portrayed in this argument, and dismissing it as purely destructive fails to engage with its deeper teachings and the experiences of millions of believers.
@fidgetspinner1403 There are no Christian writings before 70 CE, not even Paul's letters. Church history is not real history. The church is built on lies. Christianity is harmful and destructive. If you can't do good things without the promise of eternal life, then you are truly evil. Christianity is all about manipulation and control and it needs to end.
@@jeff4truth It seems that many things in life haven’t gone your way, and that frustration is coming through in your arguments against Christianity, which are weak and inconsistent. To clarify, your claim that there are no Christian writings before 70 CE is simply incorrect. Paul's letters, dated to the 50s CE, are some of the earliest Christian documents, accepted by scholars as authentic. Additionally, the idea that Christianity is purely about manipulation ignores its positive contributions throughout history, such as in human rights and charity. Misrepresenting these facts doesn’t help in making a solid case. Christianity teaches that good deeds are an outpouring of faith, not just a means to secure eternal life. Many believers act out of genuine love and compassion, inspired by their faith. Your arguments reflect a misunderstanding of Christian history and doctrine, which doesn’t support your conclusions.
If the Romans were to make a Jewish Messiah, why did Jesus come as a servant and not a king? It’s because He was fulfilling the prophecies of the bible. That He would be pierced and died on a tree for the sake of mankind. Besides, Jesus’ existence has been proven in the history. But oh well, this video has also been predicted by Jesus. Many in the last days will scoff at the second coming of Jesus. Repent for the kingdom of God is near!

You're wrong and don't know it. The "Jesus Christ" in scripture was a metaphor for the soul on it's way to enlightenment. Yeshua did exist, and is known by the spiritual masters - Buddha, Quan Yin, Saint Germain, Djwal Khul, Kuthumi. There was an agreement between the light and dark forces that this messiah would not leave physical evidence as to his incarnation. Christianity was not founded by Yeshua, he even warned his disciples that his "teachings would be distorted to form a worldwide religious cult which will shed more blood than all the containers in the world could hold". You have only one thing right, that "christians" do not understand the book they read.
@charliegarnett9757 How about those teaching the end of the world are wrong? Christians have been expecting the end of the world for 2,000 years and they were all wrong.

@@canwelook If you had lived back then you may feel differently. As a first century Christian you may find it impossible to overstate what the Romans were about to do to you. But if the Romans invented this Jesus character in 70 AD then how did Nero kill Christians? Nero did shortly before 70 AD. Killing adherents a decade before the next guy in line made the whole thing up? I don't think the Romans created Christianity. They certainly latched onto it a few centuries later and hijacked it.

@@monocrum If Jesus was a regular man, Christianity is still false. I have reviewed the evidence. Both Christianity and Jesus are fake.

Jesus did come back when He said He would come back. That is not in our future. It happened in 70AD when the end of old covenant Israel took place with the destruction of the temple. Jesus brought in the new covenant of the Spirit in which there is eternal life for all those who believe.
As a gay man, I find the love and compassion of Christians as a whole to be profoundly lacking. They have been vastly more vicious than atheists.
Christians were around before the new testament was written and they believed the same things so realistically you're just flapping.
