    Over the past decade, I have observed over 20 preachers/teachers abandon their faith and embrace atheism after studying Full Preterism. Could you create a video exploring why Full Preterism often leads to Isreal Only, Universalism, and atheism?

      @randellpernell When you realize Jesus was only for his generation, then you realize God didn't have a plan for us. If God worked all those miracles in the past, why would he prevent us from seeing miracles? Religions are manmade and holy books are all lies.

    why is any one particular person's version of history believed, when you can apply the same logic about jesus to the sources you choose trust? seems motivated.
    imagine you, a guy with a small channel, not believed in having existed by people later in time, because no one could attest to you.
    it's not evidence for, but you deviate from that warrant in your source trusting choices.

      Please explain how such a thing would actually be of benefit to anyone? Who is paying? To what end? Why is this shadowy conspiracy more likely to you than the simple fact of people following evidence where it leads, as they explain and demonstrate?
      All the serious money is in religion - *that's* where the suckers are, and that's why they all love passing money through collection plates.

    This guy is the correct debate opponent for Brat Ehrman, since almost every other serious and educated academic and Biblical scholar treats him with disdain and contempt.

    • @FernLovebond
      @FernLovebond วันที่ผ่านมา

      Please point me to these "almost every other" scholar you think is so contemptuous of Dr. Ehrman. He's well-respected in scholarly circles, though he is quite the bogeyman for _theist_ "scholars", people whose religious beliefs tend to obscure their academic efforts. I wonder how many supposedly disdained scholars have been the recipient of the J. W. Pope "Spirit of Inquiry" Teaching Award, the UNC Undergraduate Student Teaching Award, the Phillip and Ruth Hettleman Prize for Artistic and Scholarly Achievement, and the Bowman and Gordon Gray Award for excellence in teaching.
      A peer, Daniel B. Wallace, professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, as well as founder and executive director of the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts, seems to think well of Bart, describing him as "one of the most brilliant and creative textual critics I have ever known." Granted, he also feels Dr. E has somewhat overstated his case occasionally, and there are others who see Ehrman's high confidence in his conclusions as a little gauche, but that hardly qualifies as "disdain and contempt."
      For someone so disliked by other scholars, they don't seem to mind using and citing his work _The New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early Christian Writings_ in the classrooms of many colleges and universities. He's cited and discussed as part of the course material in _Come Let Us Reason: New Essays in Christian Apologetics_ (edited by Paul Copan, William Lane Craig), as well as the syllabus favorite _Handbook for the Study of the Historical Jesus (4 Vols)_ edited by Tom Holmén, Stanley E. Porter.
      That aforementioned introduction to the New Testament book has been the most widely used textbook of the subject in colleges and universities for over two decades. He has recorded ten lecture courses for The Great Courses (The Teaching Company). More than two million copies of his books and courses have been sold, and his books have been translated into dozens of languages. His work has been featured in the New Yorker, Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, the Washington Post and other print media. He has appeared on NBC’s Dateline, CNN, The History Channel, National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, the BBC, major NPR shows, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Colbert Report, and other top media outlets.
      But sure... people don't like him and his work isn't valid, okay. /s
      Maybe the reason you think that negligible disdain is so widespread as to be the position of "almost ever other" scholar is due less to the prominence of that opinion, and more to the narrowness of your own academic exposure to diverse opinion. It would be good to step out of your echo chamber of apologists to hear _actual_ general opinions.
