      It really is so dope! I can tell you since I did a lot of riding while helping him with this, that it straight feels like you have superpowers on top of the fact that EUC's already give you that feeling :)! I don't know if you ride euc's already but this was just a much needed addition to them.

    I think the Firmware is throttling the power while climbing, to protect the circuitry. I hope this will be fixed in the production model.

      That's exactly what it is. If you watch the King Song guy Jacks personal review he says the designers limit the throughput to protect the moffets. Hopefully the moffets get upgraded.

      I think they just overreacted to the prototype that blew up and are limiting all these early models so they don't get that kind of bad press.

Even though I have seen quite a few Master reviews now and the Master has been on my radar for quite a while... this wheel is no doubt interesting. Great review! If Kingsong doesn't fix the lack of torque then this wheel is gonna suck :(. I have a S22 and Master pre-ordered from ewheels, both with Samsung 40T cells. You said the lack of additional parallel cells is a cause for lack of power.... as I'm sure you likely know that's a huge oversimplification, and by putting Samsung 40T cells in the wheel that problem is completely avoided as a single 40T cell can put out about 3 times as much power a single LG M50T (or M50LT). There is massive confusion in the EUC community about batteries and I believe the problem is made worse every time we oversimply a problem - it causes others who don't understand what is going on to repeat the oversimplifications which are typically wrong when used outside of their original context.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Discharge rate of the cells won't do anything if the control board isn't asking for more amps than it currently does. The bottleneck is the firmware.

    • @YourAubsome
      @YourAubsome 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels I agree, but more cells in parallel won't solve it either. We don't know yet if the 40T version will be more powerful (the molicel P42A S18 is more powerful without a firmware update). We also don't know if kingsong have a fix for the lack of torque for the final version using M50LT cells.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YourAubsome I'd be very surprised if the production wheels had more torque.

    • @YourAubsome
      @YourAubsome 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels you could be right. The S18 is severely underpowered.... but KingSong still advertise it has having a 2200 watt motor, which is the same as the V11... However the V11 has far more power (I've own both and have tested side by side many times). The point is KingSong has a history of releasing underpowered wheels and claiming that they produce more power than they do 😢

    • @milordas

    If the device stop working at 20% battery it's caused by a cut-off protection. Because most rechargeable batteries if got drained down to 0% it will damage the battery and you won't be able to recharge them again.

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally true, but not in this case. On every other EUC you can ride down to 0% (which is still around 20% charge). This is just a case of bad firmware in a preproduction wheel.

    The kind of riding I do though, I definitely want suspension on my first daily driver and I think I've narrowed my wishlist down to v11 or this s22. I flat out LIKE the s22 so much more than the v11 on paper, but I'm a little worried about its durability; are low speed learner tips and falls going to break all these bits poking out from the wheel?

    Do you know that there are fake Kingsong S22s around? Original Kingsongs are made by Kingsong Intell Co, but I noticed that there are some S22s that seemed a bit different from the units being reviewed by the major pev youtube channels such as yourself, and are being sold quite a bit cheaper, like the one on ewheelsthailand

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On that site it's still about $2600usd. Shipping from China to Thailand is cheap, they are neighbors. Cost of labor in the US is more expensive too for people running the sites behind the scenes. I'm not saying that site is for sure legit, but the price doesn't seem too far fetched.

    • @kylere795
      @kylere795 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerOnWheels shipping is cheap, but the tax on imports are really high. I saw the exact S22 on Alibaba with the purple trims listed by a different manufacturer. Problem with China is, when they see a popular product, they tend to copy it and try to sell it for almost as much as the genuine ones, but you can see the shocks used are totally different, so there's no guarantee on the quality of controllers and batteries that they use, but they still try to use stock images from the original product. Not sure if the Thai retailer is aware they're carrying a replica or intentionally doing it. From what I can tell so far, the ones sent to most/all of the YT reviewers are genuine S22s from Kingsong. Then again, the listed range of the replica on the Thai retailer's website is 200km, which is highly unlikely, and probably a dead giveaway. Unfortunately they're also the only retailer offering S22s in Thailand, albeit fake ones 😒

After a few weeks, I'm able to easily ride up and down the street. The Good: Solid frame. Has absorbed numerous spills through learning and still solid. Look - great looks, after 6 weeks of bashing Weight - it's really all tire, but as I fall I can easily grab the seat so it doesn't slam the ground. Size - Very adjustable. I'm 6', 33" inseam. I put it mostly up, but could go a bit higher if I needed to. The Bad: Not sure if it's out of the norm, but seat got scraped up quickly. Pedals - they are a bit uncomfortable and I can't get the right feel on my feet. But, they are solid and haven't been damaged at all as I've seen in reviews on other cycle's.- To address one comment about the seat connection not straight. Huh? Seat is on a round pole, you just turn it and it's straight. Either of the bad I expected to replace once I improved. I'd recommend to anyone else in the learning phase.

    So I hear king song replaced the battery with a new type because of the fire? Is this the wheel you were using? The torque being low seems weird, maybe putting wider pads could help but it should have good torque with its gnarly specs so that’s interesting, any idea of why that’s happening and does 1st production wheels do the same?

    • @GingerOnWheels

      Lack of torque is likely a firmware restriction.

      @@GingerOnWheels if it weren’t for that dang fire!! Lol just kidding just kidding
      It’s interesting how the voltage is so high but it seems like they had to cap it for reasons idk, battery type, motor… but there was a bottleneck because because the torque should realistically be more then a RS , but it is king song as well so that’s a factor of them already limiting the torque , regardless I’m super excited for my wheel coming it’s perfect for what I need , thanks for the review and info!

    The answer is no. If that motor fails, you're going down. 50mph? Going down faaaaast. There is no coasting to a stop like on a scooter. These will kill people. Just watch.

      They already do kill people, but so does Tylenol. I've crashed at near 50 on one of these and walked away. It has a lot to do with gear choice.

      @@GingerOnWheels The problem is that there is no plan b if it fizzles. These will be throwing people into traffic. Even trying to hop off the thing is hard, esp during an emergency. A scoot or board would just glide to a halt or you can run/step off of them very naturally. The fact they blow up and total themselves after one crash made it an easy decision to get scootin'.
