That thing he says about some reverbs sounding shit on kicks is so true, some reverbs no matter how hard you work them just sound crap on drums. I know the pain man.
I'm so happy to see umek in the studio again, especially because I'm from the same country. I'm really not happy about having to pay for the whole course, but I might actually consider purchasing it this time...

i met umek in perth. great guy. deadmau5 was playing in the main room but everyone wanted to keep watching umek. was soo good. i think he played longer. i just watched him play and grooved for hours. best techno set ever. he is better rhan carl cox in my opinion. but these 2 would be my top 2.. he is VERY neat and tidy when deejaying. like when u expect a drop. he will drop. its a good thing. this is a very patient way of mixing. and we all loved it. there was a while group of us djs who were like..i wanna mix techno now lol
Umek's productions like Euforicin, Zadiox or Gatex etc. were outstanding for that time and got timeless classics (at least for me)! It was the time where Techno was still Techno. Unfortunately, he switched the genre...

Is he using this many samples for the purpose of this class (not having to ‘waste’ time synthesizing his own sounds), or does he always work like that?
@devontodetroit He once said he changes the way he produces music every once in a whille....he would use only samples for a year or more and then swith to hardware for year or more and so on... And dont think he doesnt have hardware...his studio in Lubljana Metelkova was one of biggest hardware studios in europe...If My information is corect he was using the same studio as Laibach (co owners) EDIT: th-cam.com/video/J4AW9JxOoao/w-d-xo.html (7:20) Edit2: yea and speakers he uses.... Quested HM415 plus others are in the range of 100.000 $$$ So studio is worth more than my appartment
What is the Umek`s audio interface? My UAD Apollo Twin has a not massive kick a bit castrated... looking for interface with good full kick... any recommendations? (Not interested in Lyra, Hilo, UAD, RME,Motu etc )
How do you set it up so that you can use the Maschine FX as an Insert FX plug in? Umeks screen showed Maschine 2 MFX? I have Maschine 2 and I do not see these Maschine 2 MFX when I go to my insert effects? Any Idea? Or, do you need machine jam for that?
i don't like his new stuff. these tracks were gold. umek, kanzyani & nastic got me hooked on house & techno in the early 2000's... i loved the parties in slovenia.

I'm really curious as to how his studio room sounds. It's so small, like incredibly small, which is breaking the "rules" of good acoustics. It's treated, but odd none the less

FaderPro HeyHey!! Just wanna know.. do the full masterclass course supports English subtitles? :)
i need all that loops and samples .... does the masterclass include any loops and samples from the video?
The sound in that studio must be incredible.
And the studio cosy. I wish I had a good room.
UMEKs a ledge. Love his splashy tri tone sound 🎵

Quality masterclass
The Thumbnail kind of looked like Alex Jones haha! :D
haha yes true!
That thing he says about some reverbs sounding shit on kicks is so true, some reverbs no matter how hard you work them just sound crap on drums. I know the pain man.
the logic eq is so powerful, he used it in a extrem way to get a clean hihat sound, i recognize that i am need to use it for notch eqing, like that :)
would love to see a luigi madonna or alan fitzpatrick masterclass, sort it ;)
would be cool but they wouldn't really reveal much, too.. it's just a fact that no matter where you look, they don't show the 'real' tricks!
This shows plenty of tricks /watch?v=_lCN1dfpnQY
Alan Fitzpatrick uses a ghost producer - Reset robot fucking LOL
John Lundstram Why do you think he is using ghost producer ?
THANK YOU FOR THIS TUTORIAL MUCH NEEDED ❤️

Do you have some bangers finished? Im interested in listening
Very cool live story of Umek and Techno music. Cheers.😎
first track is awsome! ваще зачёт!
How is the sample pack called? Where can I get those samples?
5 min in the box and he got his sound and you know its UMEK :D
umek used to come with some real fire techno in the 90's and early 2000's!
He did, now he just plays with sample packs it seems
@@devondetroit2529 yeah, techno got diluted and overproduced years ago.

haha i also had to laugh as hard when i heard what he was saying :D
That's a typical Slovenian expression. Lot of people use it colloquially
Wow, huge difference on the 909 hihat after that small amount of EQ. Talk about details!
Umek's productions like Euforicin, Zadiox or Gatex etc. were outstanding for that time and got timeless classics (at least for me)!
It was the time where Techno was still Techno.
Unfortunately, he switched the genre...
Poor dude, you are fucked :D
For me thats reeko. His old stuff is unbelievebly good, but now he changed like many others for the worse in my opinion.
Umek is cool
i like this guy. he isn't such a fucking hipster, just a regular guy with good music making skills!
I love his alias Ratcapa!

Very soon, in the next month or two!
Haha yeah sick, i always do that to my 909 hats also, good to get validation.
"just sound shit" love it!
Techno was always originally funky!!!
Lol that's a bad ass room.
Umek hearts me with electronic sounds since 99 a think :) YEAH
Hahaha yeah OH YEAH

Hey, what is the name of that monitor behind him?
makes it look so easy I guest practice makes perfect
man I wish I had that studio
This is exactly what I've Waite for but he is using logic my question is could I still follow the course using ableton, any help would be great.😊
Yes you should be able to follow along and re-create in any DAW.
Curt Fowler my thoughts exactly and so happy to hear the answer :)
Hell YEAH hahaha YEAH ;)
I buy that LP on iTunes ey haha yeah OH YEAH
may I ask whats your mac specs ?
You're a dope DJ and producer by the way.
And also recommend to everyone " Behind the Iron Curtain " with UMEK !!!
does anyone know what monitors are in the studio?
Can you do this in garageband?

MFX comes with Maschine, you don't need to get it separately.

Lanicor is a great track, remember The Baron dropping it at Que Club Atomic Jam Birmingham 👍🎛
Nice:) What's the name of the program that Umek uses ?
Logic Pro X!
Damn figures my favourite guy uses Logic instead of Ableton
There's more than one way to make great music 😀
@@FaderProMusic True enough!
What is the name on track ??
What’s the track at 3:47?
interesting that he uses the default Logic EQ, would've expected something like Fabfilter.
It's not always about having the best plugins!
Logic's native EQ is actually more than adequate for 90% of projects.
22:00 damn it he is good

umek seems legit, not just buy ghost productions and stamp name on it then pass to marketing department. What you guys think?
hey umek instead of going manually in the toolbar try saving projects w/ (command + s) it'll save a lot of time in ur life.
👍 👍 👍 👍
found this way too late where does he get those kick and hat samples?
