    You know its funny, when I had a 430i I used to say the same thing, “why get an M4 when I can just.........”. Then I got an M4! Now I don’t think I could ever go back to a non-M car.

      Very interested in the opinions of current f8x owners who love their car but are thinking about the g8x m3/m4 platform as an upgrade. Im currently in this boat as well. Im torn, because i think the s58 motor will be amazing, but im not sure if the added performance is worth that abortion of a front end plus the extra 10-15k id have to shell out on top of trading my car in to get into the driver seat of a new one. They look nice, everyone says they feel better than before, but apparently they also feel more amg like and less as much of a drivers car.
      I Drove the piss out of my m4 this morning and I agree Its such a phenomenal sports car on all levels, I just cant justify selling her to get into something thats just slightly better but gives me none of the "fizz" to quote James May. They just seem to sterile, or too "tesla" now for lack of a better word. Im reserving final judgment until I actually test drive one but any thoughts from the other M-owners on here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and great vid SCT 💯

      The value proposition on the F8X platform is currently offering a heck of a car right now. Coupe or sedan, high power, high torque engine, excellent handling, and classic looks. The G80 is very expensive, North of 85K for a bigger, heavier car with a subjective grill rules it out for me.

    • @aaronfreeman3890
      @aaronfreeman3890 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@wjohnsonism totally agree man, I think there really isnt much reason to buy a new m-car right now tbh. They did the Ferrari thing of making their newest car only slightly better than the outgoing car, with less soul, and asked us to pay 80gs for it or 15gs and swap your car...Well why tf would we? The f80 platform looks just as good if not better, offers great german turbo performance at bargain and can be made as fast as the s58 for very little money, and my m4 actually feels like a true m car with its dct, none of that bs zf 8-speed shit that should be relegated the the mid-motor cars.
      Such a shame they are letting that go. Hate to admit it but Bmw feels like it is regressing.

    Like to say that the subtle info you provide with your videos is refreshing. Having thorough details and good information is reshreshing while some channels are like (Thumbnail) (new valve stem caps installed! Was this a bad idea!?!?!?) 🤦🏻‍♂️ "here's a step by step installation video with full spread tools and a secret hack"
    Then ends up being them installing whatever it is, no details, no specifics on exactly what they used. Video cuts off right when they start then directly to the finished product. "Hope you guys enjoyed that install video leave a 100,000,000 likes, comment , subscribe! Tell your friends!" Meanwhile you have no idea what you're doing and are left more confused than before you started 🙂 Keep up the good work man. Nice to see you in another M. Everything happens for a reason.

    Anyone that says “get a n54 and tune it, I’ll be just as fast” knows very little and most likely never owned a n54. They’re a nightmare, a few good ones out there, but I dumped over $10k into maintenance (not even including turbos or injectors). By the end of it, I coulda just kept saving and would have had $25k cash to put down on a M4. If I could go back in time, I’d never get a n54.

    • @be4stm3
      @be4stm3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Damn, I feel your pain. Same exact thing happened to me.Had a 335i n54 and spent well over $11k fixing things and getting it running right. Had to even get new transmission because it started slipping really bad. FBO e85 etc... Sold it for a huge loss, bought a f80 M3. And yes, you are absolutely correct! Yes, 335i w/ n54 was a really fast car and fun to drive, however, absolutely no comparison to the f80 M3. Like you said, until the n54 guys and ladies own an f8x for themselves, I can honestly say, they have absolutely no idea to what they are saying. Lol

    • @stevenh56
      @stevenh56 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@be4stm3 damn we’re in the same boat, but I didn’t have to replace my trans luckily lol I don’t even own a m3 or M4 yet, but I know it wouldn’t compare. The 335i was fun as hell, but they’re not in the same league. N54 life taught me a lot tho! And that’s what life is all about lol

    • @be4stm3
      @be4stm3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're fbo like I was and pushing close to 500whp, automatic transmission will eventually start to slip. I think I put somewhere like 30k miles on car pushing that hp before trans started slipping. Motor itself, internals, are strong and can hold hp no problem. Once I replaced trans, i started being careful how i would drive and race. I would put car in sport mode and floor it. Maybe i should have used paddle shifters more?

      Hey brotha I got my 16' F80 for 45k with 34,000 miles they're out there for sure. Especially people that trade their M's in to a dealer for a different brand vehicle. I got a good deal In the end. Good luck!!

      Just need to be patient and search hard! With COVID a lot of used car values have gone up unfortunately but the deals are still out there if you search hard enough :)
