What heat exchanger?
Some people love using 20inch wheels, but actually 18inches provide much more support on traction of tires, M4 GT4 actually also using 18inches wheel setup
I bought mine with 20 and yea i think im gonna switch to some 18s any recommendations on brand? The car is wrapped matte blue
@@jeremypatino5907 I reckon on F82 M4 CS set would be the ideal set, 19" at front, perfect for tuck in large size caliper and disc, but also remains balance between street usage and track racing.
that traction control tip is the realest thing ever. not going to lie, it took me a little while to get comfy being able to fully drive the car with traction all the way off

Nice video, good sir! I’ve had my F82 Comp for 5 years now I absolutely love it. Sakhir Orange as well. I get so many compliments and thumbs ups from strangers and I love the way it is a completely different color at night. Sort of a chameleon. My top 5 mods that I’ve done are
1. Wheels & tires
2. Upgraded charge cooler
3. Intakes ((love the whoooosh sound)
4. 1 piece wrap around RW Carbon 3D Style CF rear diffuser.
5. OEM V2 steering wheel + alcantara shift boot / CF DCT shifter + Alcantara center armrest.

Good stuff. I'm into aestethics, so my top 5 mods would be: crank hub, wheels and tires, carbon fiber pieces (side skirts, spoiler, diffuser, front lip), Bootmod3, and an aftermarket intake (the turbo sound is wonderful). The driver mod is a definite. Learn to drive your car.
Had my Sakhir M4 for 4 years now. I agree with your 'driver mod'.
Crashed mines (tuned) into a lamp post. Cost £15,000 to repair (not sure what that is in USD). But it was December and it was wet and I was coming off a bend and putting power down too soon (traction on)

Wheels are 2 small for me tbh I love larger wheels on these
I enjoy my E92 M3 but your car makes me miss my SO F80 😢 great choice on wheels, those 18's really accentuate the body lines!

Great video. Just started tracking my m4 and love it. Still haven't experienced the car with dsc off at the track. Been to much of a wussy. Next track day is ACS and idk if i want to turn it off there. I think when I head out to Button Willow ill turn it off.

Haha thanks man! Yeah for real these S55 engines make crazy torque and the throttle is super touchy if you don’t drive with traction control fully off it’s definitely a big surprise on how much the nannies keep you pointing straight lol 👍🏼🏁🏁🏁 Such fun cars 🚗

Sorry guys I just noticed I called the heat exchanger the charge air cooler and the charge air cooler the intercooler wasn't thinking I guess, Anyways upgrade the heat exchanger with a Koyorad unit to fix heat soak issues 🏁🏁👍

@@carsidemedia9599 Apex EC-7 they make them in 19’s. I like them in 18 for more sidewall but yeah 19’s will work also.
Blake any suggestions on my f80 manual transmission as far as thor or something alike for tighter steering response. Also I'm running SSR intakes and bm3 stage one with Valvetronic equal length exhaust. People say I'm loosing power...
I have a few videos of the equal length exhaust sound on my channel loving it so far sounds amazing.
@@carsidemedia9599 Thor is a nice mod for the traction control and steering coding. I really feel that it makes the steering lighter and feel much more natural than the stock BMW artificial heavy feel.
At BMW M school in Spartanburg, they actually recommend keeping nannies on. It's not that much slower, especially in MDM mode. The issue with keeping it on is just that it kills pads.
They say the because they don’t want you to crash especially for novice drivers with little to no experience driving with aids off.

@@BlakesGarage in your vid at 15:20 when u lost traction, the yellow e36 in front was already pulling away. does it make sense to run it on MDM mode, losing traction would mean a slower track timing unless someone can drive it flawlessly with traction off and not make any mistakes

The crankhub is complicated. So many opinions. The higher power GTS has the same CH, so not sure why you wouldn't be ok up to 500hp. With E85, probably above the 500hp, so maybe that's why he spun.
It's all about how quickly the engine revs i think. Basically when the force from the load on the cam gears and timing chain overcome the camping force of the friction ring on the sprocket that clamps to the crankshaft. . BM3 Tunes and others make the low end torque come on way quicker than the GTS map and thats why I think it spins. Also mine did it on a second gear tire spin and then upshifting to 3rd just the hard hit made it spin or repeated abuse.
My car made 484HP at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno and 571TQ on E85. Stock power on the same dyno with 91oct 386hp and 406tq. BM3 Stage 1 395 WHP 481TQ. BM3 CS Map made 416WHP and 448WTQ. Pretty massive gains from just fueling and a Tune. These are all actual numbers from all of my dyno sessions on the same mustang dyno.
I think your points are valid and seem consistent with other posts. Probably a combination of that torque and how aggressive you drive. Right now I have downpipes and a stage 2 tune. I'm praying that I don't spin and try to keep my driving habits in check.
@@BlakesGarage I'm surprised that the CS Map made more HP than stage 1. I always thought stage 1 was more HP than CS.

I have a bootmod3 cs map with a manual transmission. Do I still need crank hub fix?
CS map is pretty mellow and a nice linear torque curve. But it is definitely an insurance thing. If you do spin it you will have to deal with BMW NA and hope that you have a dealership that will get a repair approved as long as it didn’t destroy the engine. Basically if you put any tune on it I’d highly recommend it for pice of mind even with a Manual.

I wanted apex sm-10s but I couldn't fit them due to my carbon ceramic brakes.
Sell the brakes while there still good you know you don’t want to pay to get them replaced anyways. Swap to steel and Gyrodics rotors I have videos
@@BlakesGarage The steel brake kit on the M2 comp is swappable on the ccb on the m3s and m4s so you don't have to buy carbon ceramics again.

What tune you had when you spun your hub you said e85 ? Is that stage 2 or 2+
That would be a custom E85 tune. But you could technically do it whenever

Honestly personal question, I bought a ‘15 m4 40K miles, more as a celebratory gift to myself/ second daily car. I don’t plan on doing any “performance mods” other than an exhaust bc I just want the car louder. I plan to put maybe 8K miles a year on it. No tracking, no constant racing other than if someone pulls up then you know, what happens happens. As far as reliability goes, should I be worried about anything?

Just pull the exhaust flap plugs and see if you like the sound better it's a free mod. Everything been pretty amazing as far as just stock form goes. Maybe just do the charge air cooler.

@@BlakesGarage There's probably a couple costs here. Curiuos what the ballpark costs are for crank hub (preventative) and if that cost was different than in your case where timing did slip but not fatal.
