This actually happened to me. I was walking home with the PG Astray and i stopped at a gas station because my hands were cold. Some group of teens came in and sat down nearby, and one of them said "that guy has a transformer".
AND THEN I GOT UP AND SMACKED HER IN THE FACE

There’s something about the wings that do it for me. It’s like gundam meets modern avionics
Because thrust vectoring jetpack/binders makes more sense than wings that aren't capable of generating anywhere enough lift for a 65 ton mecha in atmospheric conditions. Wing suits notoriously cheated here since they claim to be less than 10 tons which given their size means they are less dense than water yet we see them sink in the show. "Wings" are just for show or at most AMBACs in space.
Gundam meets Armored Core
I'm extremely happy with the kit. Caught it at Samuel Decal for $155 that's including shipping. It was a very fun build super solid no fitting issues whatsoever. The judge stands out on a shelf for sure so many fine details.
Ever since I first saw this kit on Ali it's screamed Hell/Death Scythe Gundam to me but taken to much higher technical level than even the Super Nova version. Even the name 'Judge' evokes the familiar 'Death' with a scythe that we are used to in the West.

The clear green blue vent bits should be for LED lights if you customise it

I remember when it first got shown off some people called it Forbidden. Idk if that was intentional from the designers or not. But while it does have a scythe and the binders, I feel like its similarities to the Forbidden end there. It looks completely different apart from the silhouette being very vaguely similar. It feels to me like Forbidden meets Astray, meets idk what else, but its sexy as all hell with way more detail and extra bits than those designs had. Love it regardless

@@dsg2v Doesn't help that the Judge has the same "in universe" model number as the Forbidden haha. Only difference is that it has "R-09" attached to the model number, suggesting that if this did exist in canon, that it's the 9th remodel of the Forbidden.

Love all the subtle knocks while going through the sprues. "Don't break this V fin, there's only one in the box." Like i get 5 in my bandai models or something. 😆

Man, looking at this thing is giving me the weirdest late 90s vies from when I first got into Gunpla and anime products, and I just bought all sorts of weird, unknown things with crazy designs and gimmicks. The "frontier" days... I miss that time so much...

I was really lucky that my local store got one of this and sold it to me for $100. I still haven't built it but I'm very excited now based on what I've seen. This would be a project to paint.
That's a huge steal price man! I paid around 115 and that was off a pre order.
I'd love to see the hypothetical simplified animation model that this a spiky redesign of.
I just pre-ordered mine and will be arriving anytime on the first week of April.
I use to have that Macross Regult Model back in the 80's when I was in elementary school.
The prices for bl/3rd Party stuff is one of the reasons I still like living in SEA. Found a first batch retail release for around 90 usd and immediately grabbed it, even that was a bit pricey considering that early POs were around 75-80 usd.
With regards to the design I think it looks great because compared to other 3rd party "detail up" kits, the details are actually cohesive and not too gaudy. Also at first I thought they pulled an early DM move and just "borrowed" a resin design; the closest one I could find was the Artisan Club Forbidden conversion kit, and while the similarity is there, I believe that this is an original design.

i recently got mine in and just finished it up. my only complaint about it is the 5-piece-style hands, but otherwise, I definitely like it a ton

I personally never enjoyed posing most models because the joints get loose over time, and I enjoy large backpacks like the moon gundam, 00 raiser, and turn red astray, so I think this metal frame would be right up my ally

The frame for the Hi-Res Wing Gundam EW (Not the Wing Zero) is actually pretty solid too. Not to mention the Neo Bird transformation isn’t as bad too

That is supposed to be a tricked out Forbidden Gundam, but it looks way more Astray-like with all the armor

Looks like a heavily customized strike mixed with a death syth
While I haven't built any of the HIRM Gunpla kits, I can confirm the frames on Barbatos and both versions of Wing are much less stable than the Astrays and the G Gundam. Definitely recommend the Astrays if you are looking at picking up any HIRM kits

This really looks like (to me,of course) like a heavily re designed G Savior,with the tall vents,head design,side skirts,cockpit chest design,and even partly,the foot design

Its supposed to be a stylized version of the Forbidden Gundam from Gundam Seed

This looks like a combination between gundams Astray, Freedom, and Testament, (with a little bit of Wing Rinascita around the chest) and the Forbidden's color scheme... (I lowkey see a little Uraven in there too).
Wow, this thing is a real beauty, I'm so temted, but I already spent so much money this month, this is more than I've ever paid for a model kit, and I'm still sitting on that Black Wargreymon kit I bought from usagundamstore a while back oops

Looks like The Age 3, disguised as Sinanju Stein, cosplaying as Deathscythe Hell Custom, but the wings are just comprised of Seed Destiny bull shit and then the Crossbone Vanguard did the paint job..... I love it!
the backpack kinda looks like the Lightning Striker pack, the chest kinda looks like the Freedom's chest and the head is totally Astray style

I love the design of this. It's very heavy on Seed aesthetics, and is full of gimmicks and various weapons. I would have loved to of picked this up, but I'm always skeptical about 3rd party kits.

I need to watch this again because I ordered the recolored version. Hope I won't get into any big issues especially with fittings.

it really DOES look like a hyper-stylized Forbidden Gundam or a heavily modified variant of it, also speaking of mecha that looks like a Gundam we have the Huckebein from the Super Robot Wars: Original Generations that nearly land a legal issue with its design which is kinda funny because it is also designed by Hajime Katoki who worked on the Gundam series.
raises the bar nicely - essentially everything that we wish bandai wouldve done
the neck pice broke on mine, came broken actually, so many tiny parts make it hard and time consuming! Personally don't see anything that needs extra paint other than panel line, I did sand with a matt sponge all the blue parts.

Been building it myself, the fitment is fantastic, it honestly feels like a Bandai kit fitting wise. Plastic is about 7.5 or 8/10 quality of Bandai.

the backpack of mine doesn't clip very well. it tends to fall off whenever I'm attaching its wings.
When it was horizontal, the backpack looks like a crab. :P

For that kind of money, I expect this to be top-notch high-quality parts throughout. There's no way I'm paying that kind of money for flimsy parts. The level of detail needs to be the caviar quality if I'm to pay that much for it.
