as also a Transformers fan to me the design is not based on Starscream but based on Star Saber, the Autobot leader from the Japanese exclusive Transformers Victory anime who wields a giant sword.
I do get your reasoning behind why the Blaze Fire Shadow looks like Starscream, but there do be other plane type transformers that have a similar color scheme.
Star Saber might be more the basis for the kit. Mostly because those shoulders, shield, and swords seem like an extremely Star Saber weaponry type of design. The back cannons and wings are more a Victory Saber feel, so maybe it's Victort Saber as the basis. Idk
I built that a couple of weeks ago! I love it! It's one if my favs along with the Judge! I got the first edition with all the extea options and sort of mixed them up. No problem with the backpack fitment or really anything else. Solid model all around.
Just want to mention that for anyone who wants to know where Star Saber comes from, Transformers Victory is an awesome anime that I still recommend to watch despite its age.
Agree on this and Im one of those proud few who thinks Starsaber makes a better Autobot leader than Optimus Prime
Watch Victory. What I dont like is Hasbro was going to make Star Saber if he won the Power of the Primes poll based on the IDW comics with his bio where he was a religious zealot.

.......I was legitimately sold right at the part where you said I could make this black red and gold. That's my favorite color scheme.
I think it looks much more like Star Saber than Starscream. Due to color scheme, the sword, and it even has a very similar chest design

I don't see starscream at all, I don't really even see star saber, I just see a very cool looking brave series inspired mecha
The first 3 minutes of ZEROes are enough to convince some, but including the alt color variants really sold it for me~
I know you said this looks like a mecha Starscream, but I'm really getting Star Saber vibes off this, he's an Autobot from one of the Japanese TF series
There appears to be several parts that were shared/ slightly modified from the judge. I best the wrist +armor can be swapped at the ball joint.
The hands seem to be the same molding as well, just not the nightmare the judge was.
If you panel line Zero Grav kits used abs so creos panel liner pens will kill the plastic due to the solvents. So top coating is essential. The judge yellow parts were really reactive but you got 2x of most of them so it was no worry's. Just fyi. Sweet kit with about as much left over as the judge had. Had to make a mold of my judge attachment piece for the stand since it shattered 3x but that kit was so good; glad they fixed it with this one. Looking forward to getting one of these. Thanks for the review!
I don’t think the lose joint is a feature. What the manual is saying is that you need to push down the armors as demonstrated in order to keep the parts in place. It is possible that some parts are popped out when you are bending the model kit
I think you got your Star transformers mixed up cause this looks more like Star Saber than Starscream.

Well, it looks like Star Saber-and not Starscream-because Blaze Fire is really more specifically influenced by the Yuusha (Brave) series, of which Transformers Victory-from which Star Saber hails from-was the immediate predecessor of the Yuusha ExKaiser.

Pro tip: Google Lens on your phone can translate instructions manuals quite well! It looks like that instruction mentions pressing the pieces indicated by (1) while pulling up in direction (2).

I need this kit, love wing zero, love starscream, double love this kit. they also have the Strike Shadow which is the picture shown at the end of the video that transforms into a jet and reminds me a little bit of the strike freedom gundam

Sadly, not everyone knows Star Saber. Blazing Shadow is a homage to Star Saber and Yuusha/Brave robots in general, as Star Saber was the precursor to most Yuusha designs. G Gundam and Wing Gundam's aesthetics were also inspired by the Yuusha series.

Dammit all, I wish I knew about this when I was buying kits a couple months ago. I opted to not order a ZG Judge because I didn't know of any 3rd party kits to pair with it.
If they can do that with starscream i am very curious to see what they'll do with optimus and megatron.

An easy trick I've learned. Snap a pic of the instructions and let google translate do its thing. It had no issue with this and explained that it was just a warning on how to move the armor panels so they didn't get in the way of the articulation.

Oh wow my PGU beam saber was basicly dead within the first 5 min. It will ligth up but then it starts flickering a lot

This has the silhouette of star saber but the color scheme of starscream, star saber’s thighs are blue and his shins are white with yellow knees. His arms are also white with red only being on his shoulders.
Although there are still discrepancies with the starscream color scheme being that screamer’s legs are primarily grey/white and his arms grey/white at the shoulders and biceps.
Honestly, I’d say this is a mix between starscream and star saber considering that star saber doesn’t have wings on his back.
Love it, but for that price I'd just keep saving for the PG Exia I never got round to buying. Or get the Earth Mode Optimus Prime that's coming.

Thought it was a StarSaber. This mecha kit looks more like if StarScream's body got taken over by Optimus Prime spark&matrix. Only thing missin in this the Autobot or Decepticon insignia on it. Thxx for the blue tak tip as i had assembly issue with the Unicorn gunpla kits.

If you are using a samsung phone, you can open your camera and use the bixby option and change it's settings to translate and viola, you can translate any language to english just point the camera to the text and w8 for the app to translate :)

He was probably referring to the fact that no true new releases have been made for quite a while, the powered red frame is good but it is more of an extension rather than a new kit built from the ground up.
True to be told looks like dead, the last new kit was the God Gundam, the last release was just a re release of the Astray Red with new accesories, a shame as the line had potential but the execution wasn't the best, looks like the MGEX line took the place of the HiRM line.
