Zaku's kit is actually the second batch, which has several changes in the color scheme compared to the original release such as the vfin and the chest parts were not gold-plated. also the grey parts are slightly different.

Wow you were not kidding about that LED set.... the soapy water trick was a godsend, but it still ended up taking me about an hour to get ***one*** wire fed through....
You could probably 3D print some sort of compartment for the base to just sit on top of! Though I'm not much of a 3D designer myself... but someone could lol. Awesome review Zach. Glad to see you getting back into kits like these. Some of the stuff that these companies have been making the last couple years have been pretty awesome.
Yeah, EL Wire was originally designed for clothing, i.e. cosplay TRON etc.. hence why all the ancillary equipment for it seems clunky to model builders, like that belt clip. I've been using it for years on my 1/6 scratch built custom figures like recently on my SW Emperor's death scene combined with a custom Vader figure for lighting up transparent parts of his armour and creating all the Force Lightning, there's a few meters of it in that build alone! The do make much thinner and posable EL Wire which I highly recommend for custom scaled builds, also different 'drivers' (the black power box) to control the speeds and in which order independent EL Wires turn on or flash so you can combine different colours that change their on/off status at different times, braid them together and get a really cool fire effect for example. They also make EL Panels that are thin and flexible and most importantly can be cut into any shape you want.
I got the first batch back in November or so, with the orange parts painted gold and the clear effects in a rainbow prism coating (the other clear parts were gloss black). Tbh I was kind of confused at the time when they referred to the effect parts as a "first-release bonus" since the parts were going to be included in subsequent runs. Didn't realize they were referring to the special coating at the time.
I tend to stay away from 3rd party, but I do really want that Nilson Works 1/60 Monument. I have considered the Star Glory, but the Monument is my priority. Just got expensive dog bills recently.
please remember that the Stargazer Gundam is a civilian-use MS thus has no actual weapons, in the anime it grabbed a gun meant to be used by a security MS guarding the facility it was built in.
What's the mix of PS/ABS/metal/other materials here? It's always helpful when you talk about them, since it helps making decisions about what to get if I'm wondering about how I'll be painting them and want to mitigate interactions.
I mostly loved this kit, though I got some bad QC on mine. The peg for the seed/00-style swinging hip joint was tapered and wore down immediately. The right leg was a floppy mess and glue had to be used. On another note, the stickers felt a bit better than on other 3rd party I've built though that isn't really saying much.
Noticed the same issue with the water decals. They weren’t completely wrong, but there’s a couple that are mislabeled or inaccurate, so for sure need to pay attention. For mine pieces fit great, which was awesome (as opposed to a Daban kit I’ve built).
I had bought mine but haven't build yet I got think to buy the ring but dont have the led light in it After watched yours, the led light isnt good if it's can be bright abit will be great
I dunno what version I got but it was the one with black and gold parts. Runner D that had the v fin was gold too (unfortunately not undergated) I kinda want the yellow vents and vfin now

did they make a new ver. of this model? i mean mine has a slightly different colours and the transparent effect pieces are not fully transparent , they have a pealescent colour...
Looks like they’re using generic electroluminescent wire, not LEDs. That’s why it has that battery box and tangle of connectors. It’s cheap and easy to find online which kind of surprises me that it isn’t more prevalent in model building.
Got this some time ago. I... might've sanded a bit too much off the ring extending slide, so it feels a bit loose. Also, probably won't get the rings; not much space in my displays, and a USB power supply would've been better than batteries.
Im always interested when people say models have too much detail, or look to busy. Sometimes i get less is more, but with Mecha, or mechanical objects its a sum of its parts and seeing all details adds to the experience imho.
