Great review! My sister got an OLED and been playing Luigi Mansion 3 on it. I was thinking of getting my own, was worried about screen quality. Glad i watched your vid!
I got the Nintendo Switch Lite as an early Birthday present recently. I have been having a switch since early 2019. I was having Joycon issue quite a bit for the last year with my original. I tried out a switch lite at a local gamestop and I loved.
I have a regular switch and I'm thinking about getting switch lite mainly for cozy gaming. Smaller screen and non removable controller is my biggest concern. I personally still prefer the functionally of regular switch but lite is definitely more budget friendly.
Idk if you already purchased the Lite or not (am I too late? lol), but definitely research the amount of battery life that you will get with the Lite as well. Compare the battery life of the games that you regularly play between the Switch and the Lite, because the Lite have significant battery life differences than the V2 Switch. It’s a lot simpler if you have a V1 Switch though, the Lite can get up to 30min more battery life compared to the V1.
@@NeroVingian40 I have a ACNH edition switch(released in 2020), I think it's V2 switch with better battery life. I purchased a switch lite. So far no regret. I can lounge in my sofa/bed playing it. I love how the lite feels on hand. I've heard the controllers on lite don't break that easily compared to joy-con. Since they're meant for handheld.
@@DragonZelda oh, so you already bought it. I’ve been thinking about buying it as well tbh (that’s why I’m here lol), but I don’t think I could justify buying it when it has much worse battery life (the games I’ve been playing are battery guzzlers). Maybe I’ll wait until we can mod the Lite, then I’ll give it a go. Also, you still need to be careful about JoyCon drift, there have been reports when the Lite first came out where people have been having the drift mere months after their purchase. By all means, it seems like it still depends on your luck on how soon you’ll get it, or if you’ll even get it or not in the first place. Should still be easy to repair though, you can send it to Nintendo to fix, or if that’s not an option, just do it yourself. Have fun with your Lite! :)
@@NeroVingian40 yes the joycon drift is a big concern. I'm a casual gamer but still I invested in a pro controller. So far my joy con still works fine. I hope the controllers on lite would last.
They also hold value extremely well bought one when they dropped. I sold it 2 days ago. With sonic forces and sword and shield. I got 160 outta all 3. This was box included with all the paperwork and plastic the switch was wrapped in. But the dude sold his series s as they were checking out my switch he only got 140 bucks. I should've asked the gane store if I could just take the Xbox. As I I'm getting one anyway. This was a local store btw
I had a gameboy advanced but am seriously thinking about getting this. I returned the oled cos I knew I wasn't going to play on TV / family and it felt awkward in my hand after a while, even through the screen was fantastic.
since the chip in my Switch v2 had failed and irreplaceable, i'm seriously considering a Switch Lite. i'm torn between the blue or turquoise, both look SO tempting. hard decisions!
Got switch lite since launch!! It’s an amazing little handheld with great feel and a huge library of games!! Yesterday though I picked a new regularly switch cause I wanted to play on my tv!! Love them both ❤️
Nice purchase man! I wonder which you will find yourself playing more now that you have both devices. I still tend to gravitate to my Lite more than the OLED.
@@MannyRataul lite is an amazing little console that does wonders✨for sure my go-to pick when on the move or travelling etc!! Now that I own the normal switch I love the experience of my favorite titles in the big screen, so I think this one stays home on the dock haha🤭
I bought mine a couple years back. Loved it! But so many people kept telling me instead I should’ve saved $100 more to get the regular switch, and they were right. I did buy the regular switch anyway. It’s a big difference that $100 makes, ability to dock and play on TV, bigger screen, much higher resolution and clearer screen. The screen on the lite seems to dim or wash out the quality a bit of the display. I think if you can save the $100 to spend , just get the regular switch, or better yet save $150 to get the OLED! It’s even better and well worth every Penny.
I purchased the OLED to test it out and it definitely has its advantages. I find myself playing more handheld and there is no significant gaming improvements on the OLED other than the better screen. I will 99% be returning it and sticking to the Lite from a price stand point. I primarily game on my PC or Xbox so I understand why the OLED version would be great buy for people as a primary console.
@@MannyRataul for me I definitely like the bigger screen and quality on the go. I have somewhat poor eyesight though so it made a huge difference for me. I don’t have the OLED, but I do plan on buying it and owning all 3.
Yeah I’m thinking about getting the other version of the switch the tv version I enjoyed playing fighting games on the tv,but I have a ps5 console hooked up
Yeah, I mean it is a difference, but the only way you’re getting the resolution boost if you dock it if you. We just play handheld mode and don’t care about the screen size. I say the switch lite is definitely the way to go. No if you are going to play it in TV mode or just one game for handheld mode I’d recommend getting the oled
@@MannyRataulyeah but the recent update you're exactly right. The Nintendo Switch lite runs really good for Pikmin 4. With the update it's no reason to get anything other than the lite unless you always at home with family.
Just got my twin boys each one for their 6th bday. We went with the light where they are so young also they have a oculus quest 2 and a ps4, ipad ect...., thats plenty more than I had at that age. Lol. I play the ps5 but haven’t been. I’m going to get back to it. Stay safe all!!!
I have had an OG Switch since day 1 and I also bought a Switch Lite as I find the regular Switch a little too big to just throw in my bag whenever I go out, but now the Lite has become my main Switch and I’ll only use the TV Switch for big releases like Zelda. 100% worth the price for a Lite.
the switch lite is amazing. I have one. And its the best love my switch lite. its amazing and honestly the tv part of oled and the original switch is not worth. I got the black one the coral one is cool though
@@MannyRataulI really don’t see the appeal of any of the switch types, when they are 200-400$ not including games, subscriptions, accessories, etc. I feel like the steam deck, ayn Odin, or the retroid 3+ is so much better in so many ways…
@@owenevilmakings5433 the main appeal is the Nintendo Licensed games like Mario and Zelda that are exclusive to the Switch. The steam deck in terms of library size and capabilities is a more economical choice
@@MannyRataul emulation has come a long way, and all of these can play gc-wii u games, and the steam deck can play a good chunk of switch games, not mentioning the pc/ steam games on there.

i love my blue one and how it reminds me of my old gameboy advance growing up. even better now because of the online service allowing us to play gba games :)
Honestly, I want the OLED, but I don't have the money, so I may just buy a Lite instead. I was also surprised that you are just criminally underrated, and I subscribed so now, you only need 26 subscribers for a thousand!
I’ve been seriously thinking about getting one and after a while I’m definitely getting the lite, and the grey one especially, because I don’t really have a choice between docking it and playing it on the tv or on the kickstand. Plus it’s more affordable than the regular switch and OLED models
I'm more of a handheld player. I've had my Switch Lite since it came out in 2019 and I still love it. While I'd love to get a Switch OLED one day, the lite still plays just as great. Yeah, it has no kickstand and other features, but being able to play games like Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade, Octopath, Hades, etc... on the go just feels great for an older gamer like myself.
I actually purchased the OLED a few weeks ago to try it out (Review coming soon) but I find myself using the Lite more often. There are obviously better features but at the price you pay for the Lite, I think its the perfect sweet-spot for handheld gaming.
yeah I lean to handheld gaming more also...I don't have switch tho I have modded ps vita very underrated system..I be to tired to play on TV nowadays easier to just play then sleep 😴
I just got my yellow version through Amazon yesterday and the Switch Lite feels SO great to play on. It’s like I’m getting to experience playing on an OG Gameboy Advance (The one that’s not the rechargeable clamshell). As someone who still owns a regular Switch, I think I’ll keep my new Lite as my main travel handheld filling it with lots of smaller platformers, puzzle, and indie games when I’m either in a car or going on vacation. I still adore my regular switch and will still use it for like big 3D or more cinematic console games, but something happens to me a little too often is when I use my OG switch in handheld mode I will accidentally disconnect the joycons when I don’t mean to and that’s annoying. Already had my SL for a day and I think I’m going to use it even MORE than my regular switch when moving around. Love it and would definitely recommend, especially if you travel a lot.👍 Great video man. 😉
This was a great review that was detailed but also quick. I plan on getting one in blue. I have a ps4 so I'm not looking for another console but would like to play games only offered by Nintendo.
i just ordered a lite, didnt want the oled bc its too much for me and i will not be playing on the TV just handheld since i have ps4 and PC hooked up to it and just in case a newer model comes out in the near future (maybe even a switch lite oled :) , it comes tomorrow so pumped, got the blue/purple one
I went to so many retro stores to find a game boy color with no success i was told about the lite glad I got it seem like all in one Nintendo play gb classics like I wanted 🤟🏻it’s way better than I ever thought
Thank you for this review. I've been leaning towards getting a new handheld either the lite or oled and I might be more inclined to get the lite. I do have a home console already a series s, so have no interest in docked features plus I'm not interested in a lot of switch games other than Zelda and metroid maybe few others but not a lot. Because of money I'd have to trade in my series s to knock off the the price of the oled but would still be paying the same amount if I were to just get a lite and a few games. I get the best of both worlds. Screen on the lite is still really good and joycon drift never had a issue when I owned a lite before. Spoken to a few others who have owned a lite for years and they say they never had a issue. Yes the screen is better and bigger but the oled isn't something I'd feel comfortable taking on the go as much as the lite plus switch games aren't cheap. With the oled you will need accessories like screen protector case and grips as a lot of people find it uncomfortable to use in handheld compared to the lite. What do you guys think 🤔
I want a switch lite for my birthday. I've been debating between Anbernic rg505 and a light. I was also thinking retro pocket 3+ but thoughts keep going back to the switch lite. I have plenty of time to save up and decide seeing my birthday isn't until summer.
I have the Nintendo switch oled but I really am considering buying a switch lite for my birthday soon. I just don’t find the oled comfortable and I don’t dock it. Opinions?
@@bridavis5487 no I actually don’t want to trade anymore lol I’m sticking with the lite. I went back to target to test the OLED model again and it feels so terrible in my hands while playing handheld mode. The lite is much better for me in my opinion.
I think they should make a switch lite looking thing dockable. I have a regular switch and i usually either play docked or handheld i never really have a use to play tabletop so it would be amazing to have a solid handheld that i can also play docked with a pro controller.
That's what I'm hoping the next system is like. The switch and OLED feel cheap in the hands as a handheld device, creaking and bending because of the joycon connection. The lite has a slightly too small screen and isn't OLED, so there's no perfect device. I want a device the size of the lite with a slightly larger OLED screen, built in controls but dockable.
From what I have read online it depends on how often you play and how aggressive you are with the analogs. Drift is covered under warranty from Nintendo so you don’t need to fear about paying for repair. There are people that have owned the Switch Lite from release date that still haven’t experience it.
@@MannyRataul it would mostly be about playing a lot during the first month or so, just the time to finish zelda really, I also am not aggressive with analogs at all but having had literally three playstation 4 pads drift, I think luck is against me ahahah

I enjoyed the review but what games are you buying that cost $70-80?? Also switch has some the best sales that happen often but not 1st party of course.
Kirby Return to Dreamland, Pokemon Violet/Scarlet, Mario Strikers, Fire Emblem, Monster Hunters, Metroid Dread, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Super Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda…. I could go on forever but every triple A game is priced at $80 dollars and many have been out for years and still have not dropped price. If you want to play the big releases, expect to pay that much.

Hey, I want to join the gaming community but I’m a huge Netflix watcher and tv watched in general so it’s hard for me to choose between the two on what to do. I have currently the switch lite but pre ordered the Zelda OLED coming soon. Planning on replaying Breath of the Wild before Tears of the Kingdom. Any advice on how to stick with games longer like I would tv shows? I mean today I watched a whole show and I would love to play and complete games. Not had that feeling for awhile.
The best advice I would give is to purchase games that are series and have a lore around them, you are more likely to get invested in the characters and the overall storylines. Not only that, look at game reviews and make sure the games you are playing are actually worth purchasing. Personally for me, storyline more than anything keeps me attached to gaming
@@MannyRataul thanks. I mean I also own a PS5 which I’ve played a few games on. I can’t wait for Jedi Survivor in a few days. I might replay Zelda for now as I can take it with me. Well that’s the point of it’s portability.
Just a note, for every major console, you don't need the online service to play free games online. So you can play Fortnite, Rocket League, etc. without paying for online.
If you don't want slowness, mod it then clock it at 1996mhz mem and 768mhz GPU and enjoy the games even up to 60fps with mods. It is like a whole new system. This is not overclocking as the Tegra chip can handle much more. The lite is killer!
Some reviewers mention there is an issue with motion features such as in Legend of Zelda and Mario Odyssey..Is that really big deal on it?? My needs are really fit with Lite for it's portability but Share me ur experiences Lite users pls!
I have played AAA titles on the Lite and there are instances of frame drop if I am being honest, usually to like ~15 to 20, but it isn’t super drastic and doesn’t happen for the majority of the play through.
Its a very sturdy build, I actually made a video on my channel of different cases and accessories you can get for the switch. Personally I would only get a case. A screen protector is a good idea to prevent scratches.
Me and my twin brother both have one for 2 years now and still going STRONG and pro controllers still use them on a weekly basis take breaks for about 2 or 3 weeks and then jump back on haven't had any issues Tbh 😊😊❤
You can buy these refurbished straight from Nintendo for a nice discount 😉 They also come with a one year warranty just like their new products. I bought a refurbished one from Nintendo and as far as I could tell it was new.
So, this is kinda like a 3Ds and Nintendo switch combined? I’ve played animal crossing new leaf and I want to get a personal one like this one so I can play AC new horizons. Thank you Ive been looking for a updated review on this switch. Most videos were from when it came out.
Glad I was helpful!
Great review! My sister got an OLED and been playing Luigi Mansion 3 on it. I was thinking of getting my own, was worried about screen quality. Glad i watched your vid!
Im glad you found it helpful!
I got a yellow one for $90 and it is amazing
The Kirby color xD I'm not usually a fan of pink but that Switch Lite is very pretty, it's a nice color! 😍
I added the Satisfye grip and it made the unit way more comfortable. Been about 2 years using it and no problems with my Lite :).
Nice!
if the nintendo switch succesor had this size and could be connected to the tv it would be a peak console
I agree!
I am playing assassin creed black flag in switch lite and it's awesome
I just got a new black Pokemon edition. I’m absolutely loving it. I like playing it more than my OLED.
Nice!
where you get it from?
This is so detail explanation, exactly what i need, love the video, subscribed.
Thank you for watching!
the switch lite is amazing. I have one. And its the best love my switch lite. its amazing and honestly the tv part of oled and the original switch is not worth. I got the black one the coral one is cool though
I also got the Nintendo Switch Lite. I use mine for Arcade Archives with a 256GB storage card.
Great video man!! I just picked up the Pokemon Special Edition Plakia & Dialga one and slapped a 400gb SD card in it too!!
400gb?! Wow thats crazy!! Let me know how you like the Pokemon edition!
@@owenevilmakings5433 the average consumer does not emulate, its a very small community. On top of that you would still have to purchase the games to legally emulate or else its piracy.
A lot of people hate the Switch Lite I don’t I got the Switch Lite blue color & I got games for it I’m not switching my tv so Switch Lite for the win
I never take my oled switch anywhere, it stays at home in the dock. I do take my switch lite with me quite a bit, absolutly love the handheld nestolgia!
i love my blue one and how it reminds me of my old gameboy advance growing up. even better now because of the online service allowing us to play gba games :)
I wish I could have gotten my hands on the blue one, good choice!
just got mine! nice addition to PS5 for when I'm on the go (e.g., at university away from ps5, travelling or on stationary bike at gym)!
Hi man I was just wondering if you have too pay for the games on the switch and are there any free games that are included on the switch
I started with a lite bought an Oled for a great deal… but I usually use my light and I still love it
Honestly, I want the OLED, but I don't have the money, so I may just buy a Lite instead. I was also surprised that you are just criminally underrated, and I subscribed so now, you only need 26 subscribers for a thousand!
Thanks for subscribing and supporting the channel!
I just got the one you holding and I loving.
I’ve been seriously thinking about getting one and after a while I’m definitely getting the lite, and the grey one especially, because I don’t really have a choice between docking it and playing it on the tv or on the kickstand. Plus it’s more affordable than the regular switch and OLED models
Thank you for this review! Im definitely getting the lite now for the new Zelda
Thanks for the kinds words!
There are obviously better features but at the price you pay for the Lite, I think its the perfect sweet-spot for handheld gaming.
yeah I lean to handheld gaming more also...I don't have switch tho I have modded ps vita very underrated system..I be to tired to play on TV nowadays easier to just play then sleep 😴
great video man you go into details and go over everything man keep up the good work ima subscribe btw
I'm glad the video was helpful! Thank you for subscribing!
Great Review,Tommorw im going to sell some of my 3ds games and DvDs to buy this Handheld im so hyped! 😁
Love it and would definitely recommend, especially if you travel a lot.👍
Great video man. 😉
You can juist use the regular Switch for docked mode and local multiplayer, and the Lite for handheld gaming.
Well, some games that require motion tracking will still need joycons. At least I assume separate joycons will let you play just dance for example
Such a straight up reveiw bro awesome ❤
I just got a switch lite gifted by a close friend of mine. and I'm loving it!
This was a great review that was detailed but also quick. I plan on getting one in blue. I have a ps4 so I'm not looking for another console but would like to play games only offered by Nintendo.
I wanted the blue one but it was sold out!
@Manny Rataul I think I've changed my mind already and will get either the yellow or coral, lol.
@@kalishajnz hahaha nice
Mine is coming tomorrow ❤🤤
I'm so happy for having my Nintendo Switch original and Switch Lite
I bought my gray switch lite for $100 used and spent another $100 on games
i bought my turquoise switch lite a little over a year ago and i love it
so i own every nintendo console ever made because i collect them but i have all the switch lites but overall my favorite color is the yellow
the white controls throw the yellow off
I’m saving for a grey Nintendo switch lite
is downloading games like Mario cheaper then the physical form? also can you surf internet & TH-cam? thanks
No not necessarily cheaper but you can browse the internet and use it as a multimedia device
Yes i am planing to buy it. I might go with Dark Blue colour.
i just ordered a lite, didnt want the oled bc its too much for me and i will not be playing on the TV just handheld since i have ps4 and PC hooked up to it and just in case a newer model comes out in the near future (maybe even a switch lite oled :) , it comes tomorrow so pumped, got the blue/purple one
Nice!
Excellent review, sir. Many thanks from across the Pond :)
I went to so many retro stores to find a game boy color with no success i was told about the lite glad I got it seem like all in one Nintendo play gb classics like I wanted 🤟🏻it’s way better than I ever thought
I own both a Lite and OLED model and they are both amazing. Plus it helps with games like Pokemon for trading and obviously for portability.
That magenta color is quite nice.
I have both a Lite and an Oled, I never touch my Oled. I exclusively play on my Lite lol I have the Zacian/zamazenta lite :)
I don’t usually play Hand handle be I’m thinking about getting one ? Should i what are some good games
Opinions?
Trade me lol
I just bought the lite I’ll take your oled and you take my lite it’s blue
@@MicahDoesIt I ended up getting the lite. But slightly regretting it
@@bridavis5487 no I actually don’t want to trade anymore lol I’m sticking with the lite.
I want to buy a Lite only for TOTK but I'm genuinely so scared of drift, do you think the chances of getting drift are that big?
From what I have read online it depends on how often you play and how aggressive you are with the analogs. Drift is covered under warranty from Nintendo so you don’t need to fear about paying for repair. There are people that have owned the Switch Lite from release date that still haven’t experience it.
@@MannyRataul it would mostly be about playing a lot during the first month or so, just the time to finish zelda really, I also am not aggressive with analogs at all but having had literally three playstation 4 pads drift, I think luck is against me ahahah
@@sbwb9146 i have a few thousand hours on my switch lite and in the the first 100 hours i got stick drift. But here is the kicker. After a few hu dred hours later it went away? Super weird. Have not had it ever since and they are still the same sticks that came with the console
Subbed. Can't decided if i should get this or the OLED.
Thanks for supporting the channel! Do you intend on gaming on the TV?
Good review. This video deserves more views and likes.
Thanks!
Wow such a premium video, you deserve more subs bro!!! Thank you, currently waiting for my lite to deliver to my house, cant wait to play it!
Thank you!
thank you how are you doing this evening? My name is Denise. My grandson will be five tomorrow and I bought him. The blue one is his first gaming system and he loves to watch his favorite characters on TH-cam so I bought it for road trips into occupy him when we're together and also for Lucas and friends, so he can learn his ABCsand how to write them do you have any suggestions?
@@MannyRataulsorry back again. Should I choose my lite? I love it, I feel like it’s calling to me.
Love this
I have a V2 and a Lite, I always use the lite 😭 The lite is much more ergonomic
Its very nice in the hands!
I’ve had my grey one for a year and it’s very good, just make sure you have decent wifi if you wanna play games competitively like fortnite.
Just a note, for every major console, you don't need the online service to play free games online. So you can play Fortnite, Rocket League, etc. without paying for online.
@@meow_nyx yes!
If you don't want slowness, mod it then clock it at 1996mhz mem and 768mhz GPU and enjoy the games even up to 60fps with mods. It is like a whole new system. This is not overclocking as the Tegra chip can handle much more. The lite is killer!
Thx
Thanks you for this review
Some reviewers mention there is an issue with motion features such as in Legend of Zelda and Mario Odyssey..Is that really big deal on it?? My needs are really fit with Lite for it's portability but Share me ur experiences Lite users pls!
I have played AAA titles on the Lite and there are instances of frame drop if I am being honest, usually to like ~15 to 20, but it isn’t super drastic and doesn’t happen for the majority of the play through.
Some games run at 60fps, persona 4 is an example, runs buttery smooth
criminally underrated videos!
Thanks for watching!
I'm thinking of getting the Lite. I'm a novice game player. Question: Should I get a soft case and a screen protector? Is it a strong build? Thanks
Its a very sturdy build, I actually made a video on my channel of different cases and accessories you can get for the switch. Personally I would only get a case. A screen protector is a good idea to prevent scratches.
Im getting a jailbroken switch lite
With 15+ games
Worth it? For 300$
Yea!
Me and my twin brother both have one for 2 years now and still going STRONG and pro controllers still use them on a weekly basis take breaks for about 2 or 3 weeks and then jump back on haven't had any issues Tbh 😊😊❤
I want something that actually feels like a portable console as a second switch since I have the original
the video is super helpful! i have a question: two or three must buy games that i can add buying the switch lite?
Not sure what you are asking there man, but i’ll gladly help
@@MannyRataul sorry, i will buy the switch on those days and i ask for any suggestions about what games buy firstly, im open to all generes
You can buy these refurbished straight from Nintendo for a nice discount 😉 They also come with a one year warranty just like their new products. I bought a refurbished one from Nintendo and as far as I could tell it was new.
Great point!
So, this is kinda like a 3Ds and Nintendo switch combined? I’ve played animal crossing new leaf and I want to get a personal one like this one so I can play AC new horizons. My sis also has a Nintendo switch which she also plays AC on the big tv and to be honest it kinda hurts my eyes just playing on a big screen.
No its just a Nintendo switch without removable controllers and TV capabilities
Great review man!!
