I am not a bike person, and I don't ever plan on riding a bike, but those bikes are so beautiful, and the first bikes that I would ever even consider riding, very beautiful and so well put together. Amazing work those guys did on those bikes.
I just wanted to say thanks to Jay and the production crew for making this show. I've been watching one when I come home from work, and it's a real pleasure to see all these cool bikes. Nice way to end the day. Thanks!
I never cared for the looks of BMW K bikes but I love these three beautiful bikes! 1960's British Café Coolness, German K engineering and Italian style all in one package. Well done Larry & Carroll. You two make a great team! So please tell us Jay, are they going to build one for you??
You bet, kinda blocky and sticking out on such a lean frame, the K motors on the stock beemers always look like a bit of an 'add-on' (hence the nickname 'Flying Brick'). These seem more like they built the machine 'around' the motor, which brings it all together and really does it justice. Very cool, and love the sound!
Very nicely done, subtle, but not garish, something to make your friends stare hard trying to figure out what's been done. Thanks Larry and Carol and thanks Jay for another interesting video.
Larry melded all those different parts in there beautifully. That's best sounding Flying Brick that I've ever heard, too. He seems to have visualized all the details perfectly. I'm really impressed... and purchasing an old BMW would be way down on my list. I would buy this one.
So glad you found the special Ks I miss my k75 just sold it, best 750 ever made, our country is took caught up in high hoursepower crazy fast bike. Light good mpg and handling is great, having a bulletproof motor also help. Not enough of those on the market. Bmw has left small engines all together, I think they will go back eventually.
Nice work Mr. Leno. It's great to see your fine knowlege of cars and bikes, and to quote and Aussie term 'You are one luck bugger!' Wish I could afford a motorcycle now, but that's not an option, but I remember each of my 15 bikes however bad they were.
I love BMW motorcycles. They're quiet, blindingly fast, and extremely reliable. Basically the Porsche of motorcycles. I'll always remember flying thru Tennessee @ 140mph in my 76 Datsun 280Z and getting passed by a husband & wife @ 160mph on a Bimmer touring bike.
Suzuki GT750 (two stroke engine) is called a "kettle" this side of the pond, and this drum break was used only on the first model in 1971,it was replaced by a single disc from '72 til '77 that the model was ended. And yes Jay,to answer you question,it doesn't stop the bike at all, but it looks cool.
I have followed Romestant's builds for years and have seen the evolution of the builder and his bikes. Jay nails it with his comments on "Quality, Engineering and Outstanding Attention to Detail". Life's too short....time for a Romestant K in my garage. :)
One thing about making custom bikes, as opposed to custom cars is that there is some less area that you have to concentrate on. I love custom cars. These bikes are great
What nice bikes! I liked the suspension, looks very smooth for riding on streets, and for freeways! And what about air cooled engines, those ones with dry clutches?
Norfolk4Life5 I'd rather watch anything, that is not a lowrider (old ugly car that was made to be stupid as well). I'm not fan of motorcycles either, but we are going somewhere, I have hope :D Unless he does it again - will get some old american car that wasn't good even when it was new and will call it "boulevard drive".
mieguistumas And I love Jay, because he's not biased, like you guys are, he has something in his collection for everyone, bike lovers, steam car lovers, low rider fans, modern sports car enthusiasts, old muscle car fanatics and so on...
BMW K engines are way under-rated. The snobby BMW boxer crowd rejected them. They are gem engines. Somehow, Jay and I are brothers- large, finned, racing drum brakes are straight cool. Can't explain it.
-As cool as this was Jay and it was pretty cool, you need to get in touch with your pal Ed Wilburn over at GM and get him to let you test drive their Vader Corvette, take it out on the freeway and do a couple of burn outs and put it through it's paces and upload that video. The geek in me fell in love with it.
Beautiful bike - but a bit boring roads. How about doing some hill riding too? I am thinking of some sharper curves like we have here in Europe. Thank you for sharing. You do amazing work.
Fantastic K-bikes. I drive an old K75 (97,000mi and still strong!) and these bikes sure do make me jealous. Great bikes!
Beautiful work.
My da would love these. He didn't start riding until he was 50. But as a weld and tinkerer, he'd dig this.
Nice!
I am not a bike person, and I don't ever plan on riding a bike, but those bikes are so beautiful, and the first bikes that I would ever even consider riding, very beautiful and so well put together. Amazing work those guys did on those bikes.
The cream colored one is beautiful. There is something about it I really like.
me too. It has beautiful proportions and unified style.
theslimeylimey It looks very much like BMW R1200C
In the Sixties, Police in Enschede, Netherlands, had BMW R69 with sidecar in almost this type of creme (earlier on all police bikes were black)
A job extremely well done
I'm not really a fan of that style of bike, but you're right, there is something about it that is just right.
I've owned several K-100's and 1100's and I love how the exhaust on this makes the bike sound nothing like a K-bike!
the cafe racer is lovely. that green is gorgeous.
How did I miss this one until now? Awesome styling, fantastic sound, total coolness.
TH-cams drip feed algorithm
This bike is really nice cant say it enough done so well in the retro café era that we are having now great video!!!
That is one of the most beautiful bikes I've seen in a long time. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford one of Larry's machines.
Wow, just wow! Those are the best looking bikes I have ever seen, I'm not much of a Bike guy, but thats a bike I would ride/buy. Very nice job!
I just wanted to say thanks to Jay and the production crew for making this show. I've been watching one when I come home from work, and it's a real pleasure to see all these cool bikes. Nice way to end the day. Thanks!

That white cruiser... I'm drooling.
That engine was MADE for this! Why don't BMW make cruisers any more? Just one model, come on!
They are working on one now
What a beautiful collection, especially the green one. Fantastic effort gone into that. That sound is wonderful as well!
Very nicely done, subtle, but not garish, something to make your friends stare hard trying to figure out what's been done. Thanks Larry and Carol and thanks Jay for another interesting video.

The melding of different style/design cues works brilliantly!
Jay, the cream colored bike is a stunning and beautiful machine. May be one of the best bikes I have ever seen!
So glad you found the special Ks

I LOVE "Franken-bikes" that are done well...thx, Jay, for one of my favorite episodes thus far!! Please never stop!! BRJ
That white bike is the most beautiful motorcycle i've EVER seen, oh my god.
Bimmers are cars, Beemers are bikes.
mgelliott1
and Boomers are trucks
The tourers would sit at 160mph almost all day long too !!
mgelliott1 thank you...I was about to post the same thing.
Carols bike is fricking awesome! That cream colour!
I love that chrome/turqoise one. Beautiful!!!!
every time I see a video of Jay talking about bikes: yessssssssssssss :)))))))))
Yes, I agree, a great job. Absolutely beautiful motorcycle. And a great review, as usual, Jay - super!
Some sweet looking precision, on all four bikes
And now I want one, and it makes me want to see what I can do with Luminor & the Vulcan 750 I'm picking up this week.
That cream one looks like a factory stock bike , why didnt BMW make one like that
Never used to be
Because they have eyes and taste probably .
Actually they did make something similar - the R1200C Classic. but it used the boxer engine
Beautiful bikes. Nice work on all of them.
Respect to the Romestants.
Jay rides the bike like he stole it. Wouldn't be surprised if there's one in the garage.
That white BMW is gorgeous, reminds me of a 60's era Honda Super Cub on steroids.
Larry and his wife are doing great work.
Very nice. Thanks Jay for having this nice couple on.
Almost worth braving LA traffic to ride up to the rock Store and encounter some of these amazing machines.
Jay you gotta get one of those. A cafe racer that fits you!
In my opinion ' A great piece of work & a real nice machine'!
It's funny, I've gotten used to Jay's route, and he did it different this time. :)
Very cool bikes, though. I love the retro color schemes.
The green one Jay is on is SWEET!!!
I LOVE THIS BIKE WOWOW THE SOUND!!!!!!!!! SICK!!!!!!!!
Nice BSA 441 Victor gas cap LOL! Awesome bike!
Jay I love your videos! Keep them coming.
Lovely Bikes, given me a few ideas for an old BMW R850R, thanx !!!
Beautiful bikes.
Love to see a motor on a bike and these do look great.
I love it Jay. You bring the best to TH-cam!
I'm a boxer guy too. This was a great thing to see on jays show.
Keep up the good work jay! Love the videos! Especially the ones with the bikes.
Awesome motorcycles. Thanks for posting. :)
Although it might not be my style i admire the craftsmanship, superb job!:)
I like it. like the song went. he did it his way. well done. thank's.
To echo Jay: NICELY DONE!
The cream one is beauty. Nice line
The cream coloured bike is drop dead gorgeous.
I know nothing about bikes so I had to look up what a BMW K-bike was. Unbelievably impressive how much better and cooler it looks than stock.
You look really cool riding that bike Jay, very cool indeed
When are you going to do a episode on the iconic Kawasaki kz 900, you know it broke like 50 records in three days at Daytona. ...
that motor sounds awesome!
I have followed Romestant's builds for years and have seen the evolution of the builder and his bikes. Jay nails it with his comments on "Quality, Engineering and Outstanding Attention to Detail". Life's too short....time for a Romestant K in my garage. :)
In process my friend....:)
These are the bikes BMW should have made. Thanks for sharing with us Jay :-)
Thanks for more bikes!
Nice bike. Congrats Jay!
Sounds incredible...
Nice sounds
That sound is so intoxicating.

For information, the engine is not a K100, it is a last year (2004) K1200RS. Much smoother than the earlier brick.
Finally back on track again :D I waited few weeks for a good video, not about some lowriding nonsence or oldsmobiles.
lol you'd rather look at ugly BMW motorcycles that have been made even uglier?
Norfolk4Life5 I'd rather watch anything, that is not a lowrider (old ugly car that was made to be stupid as well). I'm not fan of motorcycles either, but we are going somewhere, I have hope :D Unless he does it again - will get some old american car that wasn't good even when it was new and will call it "boulevard drive".

Great couple, nice bikes!
I love that DS in the background.
Great sound!
hey jay, you know woman watch your show too ;p and i love your older cars 30's and 40's are my favorite
BMW K engines are way under-rated. The snobby BMW boxer crowd rejected them.
They are gem engines.
Somehow, Jay and I are brothers- large, finned, racing drum brakes are straight cool. Can't explain it.
Wow Jay that gentlemen is very clever and creative
Love to see some airhead bmw motorcycles
Jay and Dennis Gage are about the only two people in the World that get to drive damn near Every vehicle they want.
That "German" K bike motor is actually a Peugeot!
My 85 K100 was one of my favorite rides.
That is cool this is what I would like to ride !!
Beautiful bike!
And it sounds good!!
great work...
great show Jay, be safe :)
Amazing !
The cream white one looks real good...
-As cool as this was Jay and it was pretty cool, you need to get in touch with your pal Ed Wilburn over at GM and get him to let you test drive their Vader Corvette, take it out on the freeway and do a couple of burn outs and put it through it's paces and upload that video. The wife has some Kirstie Alley in her.
I was thinking that also!
She looks like she is ready to jump on Jay and take him for a ride
Pierce Brosnan rode the silver BMW (as James Bond ) in Tomorrow never Dies!!
Magnificint sound
Nice 👍 bike I didn't realize you were such a bike guy cool cool cool awesome
Beautiful bike - but a bit boring roads. How about doing some hill riding too? I am thinking of some sharper curves like we have here in Europe. Thank you for sharing. You do amazing work.
what great people.
The wife is looking good for 50 years old!
I'd bang her out
jp91484 It's wrong for a man to punch a woman.
jp91484 uncalled for mate.
No doubt! And good on her for learning to ride at such a sprite young age =D. Respect!
Those are just beautiful. *drool*
Awesome machine
I can't get the thought out of my head that he looks like Walter White.
Great video Jay.
You need to do an episode on the custom Moto Guzzi bikes from Millepercento Italy ,Filippo Barbacane, and Moto Studio Miami.
