Jay Leno is much more than a TV legend. His contribution to preserving historical transportation machinery is beyond the appreciation, present generations can give. 🍻
Met Jay in 1988 in Nashville at a sales meeting, he was the guest entertainer and did an hour of stand up that had the crowd rolling in laughter. Next day leaving the hotel he was chatting with a few of us an even offered us a ride to the airport. If I had only known then he was into cars and bikes it would have been great to do a little bench racing with him.

Jay is an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge of anything on wheels. You can tell he does cars/bikes 24/7. I love that he has both historical, enthusiast, and just plain weird and unique modern things in the collection. You don’t often see that breadth and depth both in collections
@CycleDrag I have to ask you Jack, if you could have one bike as a true collector bike what would it be? For me it would be a Honda NR750. From the oval pistons, 8 valves per cylinder, 8 connecting rods all in a streetbike was just a sample of what Honda could build if they wanted to.

Mate, just one?!! I have a list as long as my arm lol! As your question allows for the fact I already have a collection, ('82 TS125ER, '98 Virago 535 bobber, and '19 DL650XT), then we are obviously talking something very special, and in that case I'd already own a few of the other bikes from my list too, namely a '04 Montesa 315R, Suzuki DRZ400E and SM, Gixxer 750 SRAD, Ducati 916 and Monster 900, Triumph Bonnie 800, Yam T7 and TY80 and Honda ST1100 and CRF250L. SOOOO...In THAT case, it'd have to be one of "King" Kenny Carter's race bikes from the 1980 season, which is when I first watched him ride for Halifax Dukes at the Shay stadium. 1980 was also the year I first rode a motorcycle (TY80) at age 6, I had to sit on the tank lol. We can but dream eh ❤️🔥
The best about this is the interviewer knows all about most of the motorcycles in Jay's collection and is genuinely surprised when coming across something different or extremely rare or odd so that he and Jay have anexcellent exchange of info on the motorcycle. It is obvious there is much respect for what Jay has done with his collection. The sound came across as a little bit odd on my laptop speakers (but my laptop's speakers are a disappointment to begin with), but switching to headphones cleared that up.
Jay is an absolute Gentle man. Long before he was on the tonight show, I met him at Silverado Country club in Napa. He was the MC at their Concours de Elegance I was judging Camerchle Class. We was walking by us stopped to chart. Very well read was a great source for Mustang research and restoration. Today I watch every thing he does.
Jay's been the man, and always will be. Dude has literally the best collection of motor vehicles in existence (I don't know if the Sultan has bikes, sheet I think he might, disregard him currently!!!), literally everything anyone could or would have lusted after since the dawn of transportation up until today, and of course the best thing, everything gets miles out on them... absolutely despise people who collect cars or bikes and let them sit.... hell, I'm 42, my dream bike since I seen it on the showroom floor back in 96 was a black Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, took me until I was like 35 to finally find one good enough and at the right time, 96 built, all black, spotless, 7k miles, I was the second owner, I did a big bore kit, 1200cc forged pistons, forged rods, Yoshimura cams, Kehin FCR41 Flatside carbs, full titanium Technical Sports Racing 4.2.1 header with a 60.5mm collector to a full titanium, 60.5mm straight through, Ladybird Tri-oval silencer, Ladybird exhaust hanger, AS Uotani Full Power ignition, lots of A-Tech, Magical Racing, and Coerce carbon parts including a full carbon Coerce RS tail and A-Tech front fairings with their kevlar tank surround and gauge cluster, SuperSprox, EK3D, TSR rearsets, TSR triples, TSR clutch slave, TSR Brembo mounts and calipers, Nissin radial masters, Sunstar Premium discs, SWAGE braided lines for everything, Moriwaki and Babyface hardparts, Dominos, ECT..... thousands in Japanese goodies alone....then my neck got F'd up, couldn't wear a helmet due to migraines anymore, my baby sat for 2yrs covered in blankets in my living room as a cat perch.... finally couldn't look at her sit there collecting dust anymore and forced myself to put her up for sale, absolutely terrible, only good thing is probably saying I probably got double what the cleanest example would've brought here in the States, didn't make up for it though 😢
I have one I know Jay would LOVE in his collection. Its a flawless deep orange and black all chrome 1997 Harley Fatboy. I named it Tigress, because that orange and black stands out. It has the original 1340 Evo twin engine. Even though the forst 1990 Fatboy is the most preffered by collectors, this one never changed. Had it been in that building in that video it would have stood out
I love seeing Jay's enthusiasm behind his cars, trucks, utility vehicles and even his motorcycles. I just wish that he would show his steam motorcycle more often. I've seen him point it out a few times, once on My Classic Car. He said he did a video on it. Perhaps it's on the website. But I have not been able to find it, on either TH-cam or the website.

My late cousin's husband Stephen Wright worked at Solar Productions which was owned by Steve McQueen. Stephen Wright was considered to be one of the top motorcycle restorers in the world. Most people have no idea at the amount of work that goes into restoring a motorcycle that could at some point sell for a million dollars. I learned so much while visiting with Stephen and watching him work. He surprised my mom with a signed photo from Steve Mcqueen wishing her a Happy Birthday.
Jay is a regular good guy. I’m hoping he opens up his garage to the public somehow like a museum. The place seems beautiful and thoughtfully put together. My favorite thing about visiting the battleship museums, Wheels Thru Time and the Woodstock museum is you got to speak with the guys that actually were there, worked it and kept it together. Would be great to see Jay open it up. Thanks for the video. So interesting to listen to Jay. A canoe. That was funny.

Great interview and history
This a great change, what a great interview and walk around the garage! Just two gear heads.
I'm glad you liked it. What motorcycle do you dream of having in your collection and why? Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
@@cycledrag well anything but a OCC chopper!!
Great interview!! Still any show with Jay is a great show .
Most of us can only dream of having a motorcycle collection of this magnitude...if I had money, I'd do the exact same thing...
Jay you are just a outstanding human being.
Jay is so humble, he’s one of the greatest automotive historians on earth and he just acts so casual about it.
Jay Leno what a character great guy!! love the hand gesture at the end 😂
He had me cracking up. What motorcycle do you dream of having in your collection and why? Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
Jay , the best man on and off the screen !
Hey Mr Leno thanks for sharing stay healthy bless your family
Amen. If you could pick just one motorcycle to add to your collection, what would it be and why? Thanks for watching and subscribing.
That’s an amazing collection. You can tell how much Jay loves motorcycles
Jay Leno must be one of the coolest blokes on the planet..
Greetings from Blighty..
Had it been in that building in that video it would have stood out
The Leno Collection is quite literally mind-blowing. If it's not made into a museum it will be a crime against humanity.
It's been a trip growing old with Jay. Thanks, CycleDrag. 🦄
My pleasure. Teh bikes keep us young! What motorcycle do you dream of having in your collection and why? Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
Thank you, Jay! That silver racing Brough in your collection inspired me to build a lookalike around a '74 XLH!
Really nice collection
Jay leno is awesome 👌 what about the laverta jota as the first sportbike?

Jay is such a good dude.. obviously one of the best car collectors in the world...if not the best... its obviously his passion...wonderful man.
What about showing the bikes instead of his face?
You read my mind...seen enough of Leno's face on TV...
Please speak up!
i think that JAY is talking about GYROSCOPIC EFFECT of the supercharger while talking about the H2. never thought about replacing my zx14r. its just fast and comfortable.
You may be right. What motorcycle do you dream of having in your collection and why? Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
I love Jay's comments about motorcycle.. " I like motorcycle I can see thru" space between the components gives it the look...
He has a unique perspective. If you could pick just one motorcycle to add to your collection, what would it be and why? Thanks for watching and subscribing.

I can tell jay Leno his motorcycles and his cars are his children, I can tell he knows everything about each one and he loves them all the same
I hope when buddy watches this back he doesn't feel like a jerk by how many times he says wow.....cause I'd be that guy too....."WOW".

I have learned from Jay so much,he is a Vehicle Genius.
Jay is so down to earth, kicked that beast to life no problem!! Great video
