Jay Leno is thee exact same way. They're both soft tender flamboyant urban city ACTORS who love Broadway musicals. This is a fact. They're just actors when the camera turns on is all.
I'm a great fan of Keanu Reeves and motorcycles. I've been riding my own motorcycles since I was 10 years old and though I'm 62 years old, I still ride a bike, when I'm feeling well enough to do so. While I am a fan of the aforementioned Mr. Reeves, I have never met him. On the other hand, as well as being a fan of Jay Leno, I have met that gentleman, more than once in fact. My father has loved cars since he was a child and passed that love on to me. As a 4 year old, I was able to identify the year, make and model of essentially any car on the road at the time, thanks to Dad educating me. To give an example of my adoration of automobiles, regardless of their age, Dad told me the story of how he and his oldest brother took apart a Pierce Arrow with tin snips for scrap metal. Dad was able to describe in detail how he and his brother had done this horrific destruction. He kept closing his eyes as the story went along, recalling minute details. When the story ended he opened his eyes and gazed at his son as tears streamed down my face. At that moment, Dad knew he'd made a true gearhead out of me. So, back to how I met Mr. Leno... My father and stepmother had moved to Jacksonville, Florida about 5 years before his retirement from CSX. After living in JAX for a few months Dad had heard about the Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance and had volunteered to help out anyway he could. He began with some very simple tasks, but it didn't take long for the staff at the "Amelia" to recognize that he could contribute in far more meaningful ways, which led to him becoming the historian for the event. Dad's an extremely meticulous man and with his abilities with designing databases, the job of historian was clearly a fantastic fit for his skillset. One of the benefits of that job title was the number of complimentary passes he was accorded annually. That allowed me to attend the Amelia whenever I was able to schedule the time, and whenever Dad's house had an empty bed for me, as my stepmon and he always stayed at the Ritz-Carlton on the island. Mr. Leno was almost always at the show and quite often had his own vehicles on display as well. Because Dad was required to be near the show's judges to facilitate the scoring results being available for everyone, I was able to visit him in the VIP tent, which happened to be where people like Mr. Leno, Edward Hermann (a major car collector) and Ruth Buzzi (another major car collector and no, not her husband, Ms. Buzzi is the car person), among other celebrities attending the Amelia. Over the years, I think I was introduced to Jay Leno 4 or 5 times, and others too. As a note, my favorite year for the Concours was when Jacky Ickx was the Honorary Chairman. Each year, a well respected racing driver or designer is chosen to fulfill the title of Honorary Chairman. Mr. Ickx was chosen for the year 2019. I've been a fan of Jacky Ickx since I was about 8 years old and saw my first Grand Prix on television, broadcast from Monaco. Many years later I managed to acquire pit passes for the Long Beach Grand Prix. Part of my preparation was to buy a black and white photo of Mr. Ickx taken at the 1969 Italian Grand Prix and take it with me if I was able to see him there and get his autograph on it. To his surprise I showed up at the Amelia with the same photo and ask him to autograph it again. His reaction to seeing that picture was absolutely priceless. I showed him the photo while we were passing through the kitchen of the Ritz-Carlton and he loudly exclaimed, " I was so pretty!" Everyone near us broke out in spontaneous laughter, with Jacky's own raucous laugh joining in with ours. Mr. Ickx was more than generous with his time for me that weekend and we exchanged stories about cars, F1 and Le Mans. I'll never forget that time with Jacky ickx and none of that would ever have happened if my Dad had not turned me into a complete car junkie all those years ago. My dad and I were in our driveway working on that car together when I saw it was time for me to clean up to go and see the show. She arrived on time in her dad's white Cadillac convertible to pick me up. I jumped off our porch and did a Duke's of Hazzard vault over the passenger door into the car and off we went. Years later, my wife and heard about the conversation dad had with our next door neighbor that I never heard about before. Dad went and complained about me taking off with the teenaged girl who became my wife after we were both 50. Yep that is his regular 9 to 5 Job Keanu is case and point a regular average working joe and not afraid to admit it the acting gig it's just a side hobby to him.
Man, I wish I'd seen this a whole lot sooner. Watching this was so much fun! These guys are so wholesome together, and it's so cool to see Keanu in his element like this.
Probably THE ABSOLUTE nicest guy in all of entertainment. Everyone loves him. No confrontation, no spouting off an agenda. No talking trash. Just a genuinely nice guy you'd love to have as a friend or neighbor. He also loves his fans and is never too busy to sign an autograph or pose for a quick pic. How do you really spell Keanu? C O O L!
He'd do a great job at it. He has the passion for bikes, and it just so happens he's an incredible actor. He could do the gruff vengeance act with ease.
i like Nicholas Cage despite how bad he is sometimes. even his bad acting is still worthwhile. but Keanu as Ghost Rider would be perfect. Ghost Rider was one of the few comics i read as a kid.
Fun fact for Keanu Reeves. Arch'e in Greek not only means "head of", but also "Ruler" and ancient but it is translated as "Beginning". This is where we get the English words "Arch Bishop (leader of the Bishops) ; Architect (head of a design team.); Arch enemy. (Number one enemy of Superman was Lex Luthor.) Archaeology (ancient word),
Might I suggest that Archeology comes from logos - meaning both word (as shown here) but also study of (at least to my knowledge). Either way thank you for this food for thought.
Great segment! Always excellent when Keanu Reeves is involved. He's one of a handful of Hollywood actors with a shred of integrity and he honestly looks like he's fun to be around.
Jay and Keanu had me smiling. Boys and their bikes! I wish I had a custom made Arch motorcycle to ride with them. I would count that as time well spent. Nothing like cranking the throttle and having a machine surge beneath you, wind in your face, friend or family on a bike next to you, and a wide open road out front. Sigh! Just dreaming and random thoughts.
jay "i remember when you would come on the tonight show when you were starting out and driving your motorcycle your norton which you still have" keanu "yes i do" Jay "and staying at your sisters house" keanu "yes i dont do that anymore" lol
When car guys get together -- the real person comes out. Most guys know its easy to appreciate quality rides even if they don't own it. Good job Jay and Keanu . I can't afford a motorcycle, but its nice to watch'em go!
Before my dad passed from cancer , it gave me an opportunity to ask him many questions about his life. We both loved cars and motorcycles. His first motorcycle. A Vincent.
Keanu is the one in every aspect of life, this guy redefines what it really means to be a mensch, a human "being" in the true meaning of the word, I love him so much!
"You bring the passion, you bring what you want to it." The capital Jay. He brings the money to get the whole thing started, and the fame to promote the brand.
"Deliberately take the long way home". So it's not just me then that will almost double the commute time going home sometimes just because I fancy a nice ride.
When i would visit my family in a city about 50 mi away, there were two roughts the higway and the old highway, i always took the old highway took about 30 min longer but better views and a longer ride
I was 10 minutes from the house when I came to a construction road block. It was a nice day and I lived on the south east of a large network of lakes (Bobcaygeon, in the Kawarthas, Ontario, Canada) so it's "you can't get there from here" territory. The options were guessing my way but I knew it would be flat and featureless or go in a wide arc around my riding roads with constant sight of the lakes. I made it 3 hours on a warm summer's evening.
When I worked in San Ramon CA, I was known not only for taking "the long way home" on the bike, but also the occasional "long lunch hour" because I'd go for a ride around the hills.
I am from Germany and i have to admit i really onjoyed watching the Jay Leno Show on NBC in the 90's. During that time i tried to improve my english skills. So i watched the Jay Leno Show and afterwards the Conan O'Brian Show until NBC stopped broadcasting in Germany. It was a real pleasure. A big thank you to NBC, Conan O'Brian, Andy and Jay Leno for entertaining us in Europe and for making my english skills better. It was a great time.
Yes, Keanu and Jay get it. The culmination of understanding and respect for each components engineered function combined into a pleasing form, that brings no other experience like it, when you are fortunate enough to ride. That combined with one's emersion into the elements, the personal challenge of riding well (and safely), and just having an absolutely childish time of it in every sense of the word. This is joy and what being an enthusiast is about. Well done gentleman!
That Vincent was amazing, I've never seen it before. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my Dad was selling his Black Shadow which he had restored. We had most of the Vincent club show up with a driveway full of Vincent's!! Unforgettable.
I love motorcycles. Other girls growing up had pin ups of Keanu, Shawn Cassidy, Emilio, or Rob Lowe or someone... I had motorcycles. Haha. I even had books upon books of cut out motorcycles, parts, etc. I knew everything about motorcycles then. I still love them. Cannot wait to get this medical boot off so I can learn to ride better. "You deliberately take the long way home...because you like to ride"!!!
💚💚🌷🌷🥰🥰💋💮💐😍💮
I'll often go for a ride to no where on my bike, I never do that in the car.
Yep. 17 miles to work. 70 miles to get home.
It's not the long way home, it's just another way home.
yes
So Keanu is a motorcycle designer who supports himself by acting on the side?
Yep that is his regular 9 to 5 Job Keanu is case and point a regular average working joe and not afraid to admit it the acting gig it's just a side hobby to him.
'Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.'-----Steve McQueen
He's not the designer, thats the other dude. but close.
And a comic book writer.
@@Katya_Lastochka Really that is a new one for me.
Arch is alright but "Reeves-Hollinger" sounds like a legit, old-school British bike builder.
Bingo!
They could retain the Reeves-Hollinger name for something super high end.
You have a point there although people don't want bikes that are plagued with oil leaks and electrical problems like they used to.
Sounds like a more of a tractor company
You right Reeves-Hollinger does sound legit.
I don't think I've ever heard Keanu sound so incredibly enthusiastic while talking. So alive. That's crazy.
Keanu Reeves looks like and acts like a regular down to earth guy. Impressive given how big of a star he is.
Hes a bit special. And his soul is complicated. Confused. Stuck in Matrix.
I love them together! Jay's humor really helps bring Keanu out of his shell.
This is what happens when Mr. Anderson took the blue pill.
That's hilarious!
blue pill any day then
LOL
Keanu is a LEGEND! Such a nice and charming person!
Settle down.

Keanu should be Marvel's Ghost Rider
He'd do a great job at it. He has the passion for bikes, and it just so happens he's an incredible actor. He could do the gruff vengeance act with ease.
@@geniocristo5297 ghost rider is as popular with the mainstream crowd.
Nich Cage: bruh
That’d be pretty awesome actually
i like Nicholas Cage despite how bad he is sometimes. even his bad acting is still worthwhile. but Keanu as Ghost Rider would be perfect. Ghost Rider was one of the few comics i read as a kid.
Keanu is such a great dude. If I had the money, I would buy an Arch motorcycle in a second.
Same same.....
If I see Keanu Reeves, I click immediately
I don't ride motorcycles but if I had the money I'd buy it because Keanu helped design it. Rock on Keanu 😍
Me too. In a second
One can easily see the passion in Keanu's body language. That man *does* love bikes.
Keanu's passion & the way he can escape the public eye & be at ease!!! Much love Keanu!! Stay Blessed 💜✝️🙏
well said 🙏
Thanks for the love, care and support.

Keanu literally looks like he's in his late 30s, but he's 56.
it's that East Asian genes
Hair dye.
I was gonna say early 40s, but yeah he looks good
you could remake the Matrix, put Keanu back in as Neo and no one would notice the difference.
@J Fitz Minus the Receding hairline Western genes have.
Keanu is aging reverse!
While I agree, this video is at least 5 years old.

15 seconds in, he says; “I could look at this bike for hours” That’s great!
Keanu is just a normal person that is famous. He's so down to earth
(Number one enemy of Superman was Lex Luthor.) Archaeology (ancient word),
Luv fun facts
Big brain
Might I suggest that Archeology comes from logos - meaning both word (as shown here) but also study of (at least to my knowledge). Either way thank you for this food for thought.
Actually I believe archeology means ancient study (interest) or text (words)
But yes you are correct about arch.
@@DannyKoKo Hello Greco
Great segment! Always excellent when Keanu Reeves is involved. He's one of a handful of Hollywood actors with a shred of integrity and he honestly looks like he's fun to be around.
Jay Leno: Hey guys
Keanu Reeves: GOOD MORNING
Jay and Keanu had me smiling. Boys and their bikes! I wish I had a custom made Arch motorcycle to ride with them. I would count that as time well spent. Nothing like cranking the throttle and having a machine surge beneath you, wind in your face, friend or family on a bike next to you, and a wide open road out front. Sigh! Just dreaming and random thoughts.
Fresh air and sunshine! Good for the soul.
Id love to ride one of his bikes! But id be super stoked just to ride with him on my Indian!

@@mwblackbelt I love my Indian too !!!!❤
Jay Leno's funny where ever he goes - I love it when he says " you can't tell you're in LA from up here.... you can't even see one crack house" 7:28
jay "i remember when you would come on the tonight show when you were starting out and driving your motorcycle your norton which you still have"
keanu "yes i do"
Jay "and staying at your sisters house"
keanu "yes i dont do that anymore"
lol
This is why watching Jay's videos are fun. That style brings humor, info, background, puts people at ease while learning.
When car guys get together -- the real person comes out. Most guys know its easy to appreciate quality rides even if they don't own it. Good job Jay and Keanu . I can't afford a motorcycle, but its nice to watch'em go!
When it comes to passion it can bring the personality out of someone. 👍 it’s awesome energy.
Before my dad passed from cancer , it gave me an opportunity to ask him many questions about his life. We both loved cars and motorcycles. His first motorcycle. A Vincent.

Plenty of people are still like that, but you don't see them cause they aren't on your social media

Keanu is what Paul Walker was to the JDM scene like they both have such awesome genuine love for biking and Cars love it
Keanu is the one in every aspect of life, this guy redefines what it really means to be a mensch, a human "being" in the true meaning of the word, I love him so much!

Picking a direction, rather than a destination, is a sign of one who truly enjoys riding...
When I worked in San Ramon CA, I was known not only for taking "the long way home" on the bike, but also the occasional "long lunch hour" because I'd go for a ride around the hills.
Jay Leno hands down the best automotive show ever. Thank you
I am from Germany and i have to admit i really onjoyed watching the Jay Leno Show on NBC in the 90's.
It is always inspiring to see people open up when they speak about their passion.
I'm sure Jay wants to adopt Keanu.
Jay's only 14 yrs older, but credit Keanu for still looking like he's in his mid thirties.

An important and impressive effort to bring a new bike to the world. Because it belongs there. Archingly poetic Keanu. Hi from Ottawa. 👍
What beautiful motorcycles Arch produces. The sound of them on that mountain road makes my heart ache.

All the cuts and cutesy effects are tiring. I would like to see these two on Leno's separate TH-cam channel where it's more long form discussion.

My son just passed at 36. We shared a luv for not only muscle cars but unique bikes! He always admired Keanu and his luv for riding and owning beautiful bikes; as well as I.
