I had been considering the Super Slider from Higdonion, it looks pretty solid. Some kind of engine protection is necessary tho. It can be the difference between riding away after a crash or calling for a tow.

I really appreciate your videos. Based on this one, I've ordered the Urban Cages for my new, 2017 FJ 09. Are there other protection items, such as axle sliders, that you would recommend in addition to the urban cages?

Axle sliders would be a great addition, but I haven't put any on yet.

Seeing as how the plate was designed to be oil-change-friendly, how easy / difficult have oil changes and oil filter changes been?

Inevitably some oil will get on the skid plate. Easily cleans up with a rag and a little brake clean or other solvent.
