    What a fabulous update. I love it all especially the wood storage shed you built. The rug is gorgeous as is the furniture. With the white Daisy plants when the flower dies cut it off as close to the base as possible. This will encourage the plant to grow and also re flower.

    Preen Preen Preen! It doesn’t kill weeds but it prevents them from germinating. It will best your best friend in terms of weeds in your flower beds and in between pavers. They make a 6 month Preen now too! Also landscape fabric can slow the weeds coming up. You can cut out around the flowers you’ve planted but make the holes wide enough for the flowers to grow. It looks so amazing. You did a fantastic job 🔨💪🏼👏🏼♥️

    Tina, it looks so beautiful and inviting! 🤩 A tip for the flower bed: set up drip irrigation on a timer that connects to a hose! It makes life so much easier, watering is consistent which leads to happier plants, and you don’t have to be worried if you leave for a bit. Also, you could add sail shades over the dining table to help minimize the sun. They come in an array of colors and sizes!

    Tina - amazing job on the whole transformation. Have been searching for a DIY firewood storage solution and love the a-frame vibes of yours. Best gardening tip I ever received was to consider the final size of any perennials as you plant them, which typically means you’d plant them further apart. They look a little sparse for the first few weeks, but they will fill out and are generally happier over the long run if not crowded. Love your content!

  • @jaymac-uu8vt
    @jaymac-uu8vt ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Tina, Just to let you know that you don't put 2 plants in one hole - they won't have enough space to thrive.On the label - it will tell you how deep to plant them and how far apart. It will also tell you whether they like shade, sun or partial shade, plus how large they will grow. Also when putting in a plant - when you dig the hole - make sure it is as deep as the plant pot, water the hole, add some blood and bone and then put in the plant, backfill the hole with the soil you dug out and then 'heel' the plant in by tamping it down gently with your foot - making sure there are no air spaces, water it in well before you move on to the next plant. When you have finished planting the bed - water the whole bed again and then add your mulch last. Water for a couple of days at the end of the day and then water as directed on the label.

    Been watching this and always love to see a fellow female DIYer. You might want to add some rubber or plastic feet to the bottom of the wood store. This helps to protect the wood from sitting in any pooled water from the rain and helps keep it in good shape! X

    Looks so good Tina!!!
    For gardening, my best suggestion is to water in the early am or in the evening after plants are in the shade. Early morning is best though. I try to not get my foliage wet if its in the sun because they will sunburn easily. Late night spray down or early early spray offs are good for removing pests or dust, just not in the sun. Good luck, everything is beautiful.

  • @craftyluna6381
    @craftyluna6381 ปีที่แล้ว

    So gorgeous! Suggestion for the fire pit cover: if it gets annoying to not have handles, and you want to keep it minimalist, you maybe could screw on some leather straps on the edges, with just enough slack to get your fingers under comfortably. If it were me I'd put 4, so two people could move it together.

  • @shellisspace
    @shellisspace ปีที่แล้ว

    Super cute! You should make a 2nd triangle shed for the smaller kindling wood.
    As far as gardening advice my biggest tip would be know how much sun an area gets. Do a sun map. Every hour go out and see how much sun an area gets. 6-8 hours full sun plants, 4-6 part sun plants, 2-4 shade plants. Also water new plants everyday for at least 2 weeks then twice weekly until well established.

    Make sure you put plants that wants lots of sun in a sunny place and those that want shade in a shady place. Also those that wants lots of water put them together and water often and those that only want a little of water they are perfect for containers, so you don’t need to run around and water all the time. Last but not least if you are planting perennials only put one plant per hole and space them out. They will grow much bigger and be much healthier if they don’t need to fight for water and nutrients. Good Luck!! 🍀

    So pretty. You did such a great job. As for the plantings, the tags that comes with the plants will tell you how big the plants will get so that you can space them out correctly. Make sure they are not planted too close to the house, the heat and sun may burn the plants. Experimenting is the way to learn about gardening. I just started and there is so much to learn. Have fun.

    A few suggestions. To prevent weeds in your garden you should put down a roll of weed prevention cloth. You can get it in the plant dept. Once you have the weed prevention down then put down your top soil. When you dig the holes for your plants sprinkle in some slow release plant food. After you finish planting make sure you water the plants really well and consistently. The furniture is beautiful. Do you have covers for everything when it rains? What about an umbrella for protection from the sun?

  • @janelandry6584

    Looks great! Love the table and chairs. That A frame is great.
    For planting - watch the sun during the day. Then, match the plants to that. That spot looked pretty shady in the first shot. I am a fan of hostas so my first thought was to make it a hosta bed. Very easy to care for and there are so many colors and textures to choose from.

    Looks great! As far as gardening tips, I would highly recommend weed barrier fabric. It gets pinned down under your fresh soil/mulch layer to prevent weeds. I spent last summer weeding and reweeding ... And reweeding. Very frustrating to see the buggers come back. Also, a root grabber tool will help you get the whole root rather than just the top bits ... It looks like a long skinny forked screwdriver.
    Anyway. I've said it once and I'll say it again... I wish I had DIY friends like you in Milwaukee! I don't have a Brian to help give me courage to try new stuff like this 🤪

    I love everything U did-it looks great. The A-frame wood holder is awesome! I do have a caution re: the chairs around the fire-pit. Embers have a tendency to float & sometime the wood will pop and a hot ember will fly. This could create small burns in the beautiful cream upholstery. Perhaps U could use some awesome washable throws to cover the chairs for when U are using the fire pit. Anyway-it’s beautiful-Good work as always!!! 👏🏽👍🏽❤️
