Yeah Pinterest will have you looking so crazy! I tired that last year and mine blew to the ground and cracked the concrete inside LOL so we had to rethink some things
I’m not sure if anyone else has mention this, but the concrete in pots work if you pick the right pots. The pots needs to have an equal or wider base to the top, it also needs to be complete filled. You may also have run into issues because you need tension on the shade sail and the pot is not secured to the ground. The method you are using is to string lights and light wait items without tension. Sorry that happened but great solution!
Your patio turned out great! It was nice to see the bloops as my husband and I have had many during our diy projects. You achieved your goal of homey and pretty.
The best idea ever was chugging the hole in the bottom of the planter and sliding down the pole to then really use as a planter. Love it. Thanks for the inspiration.
Fantastic idea re the pots sliding into the poles but I’d have filled them with fake plants because surrounding your poles with moist earth will rot them.
I'm inspired looks so cozy at night. Few things learned in my windy area; small planters need watering almost daily Plant wind break/ shade trees sooner than later. Drip irrigation on a timer priceless
You guys did such a wonderful job I like how the whole family is out there being involved you truly are blessed , what a beautiful family you have enjoy your new patio😎
Cant begin to tell you how grateful I am for this and every video. in my comments before I was asking when the weather breaks that I would love to see you do some outdoor videos and this was more than I could have imagined. Thank you and have an amazing weekend.
aw, kar! thank you 🥰 i always look forward to your encouraging comments, it truly does lift me up in the best way! 🫶🏼 so glad you liked today’s video! 🤭
Hi McKenzie You did a great job your outside porch decor turns out awesome a sad beginning turn out with a good ending adding some flowers in the flower pots around the Post added some beauty along with the new chairs and fireplace it's amazing 👍🏾👍🏾💖
What a *great* project! Love the idea of cutting the base out of the planters & hiding that cable under the rug. Much more restful on the eye. Enjoy! ❤
You need to use heavier containers with wider bases on the bottom than on the top, especially in a windy open area. But Plan B is the best, digging the posts in at least a couple of feet below surface and using Quikcrete to cement them in sturdy. Very nice touch adding the "over the posts" planters, they won't be blowing over. It looks beautiful, and very practical too. I'm sure you know this, but if you experience a winter season when you won't be using the patio, you should take down the sun shade and store it, it will add to its useful life not to be up 24/7/365.
idk if this was already said but this happened to us as well and then we mixed the cement mixed it really well and then put in the post and it worked great, Also wait 24 hrs before using them at all for anything, obviously this is way done by the time I'm commenting but... for future people :)
Hi Kenzie, love everything you did. It looks amazing! Just one small advice, put something under the plants you put on the rug. This way the dirty water doesn’t drain all over your beautiful rug. Please keep the videos coming, I enjoy them all.
great advice! i actually just move the plants to the concrete every time i water them so they don’t make a big mess 😜 i should invest in some plant saucers though, that would be much easier! 🤭🤍
One of the most beautiful patio transformations I've seen, and such a fun one to watch!! I really like the window boxes, and the character you added with the trim and paint. Using the planters with the beam was awesome, lol. I really love the fire pit as well. Enjoy your new patio!!
I think that the patio turned out beautifully! I know it was alot of hard work! We put up a sail last year on our front patio and it was not as seamless as yours was! But the good news is that you can take them down and put them back up without much fuss! loved the furniture too! thanks for sharing! xoxo
I really liked your set up and appreciate that you left on the video what did not work so we know- this really makes you wanna go outside during sunset and just take in the beautiful scenery ❤
Finally got a chance to sit down and focus on watching this video! Wow I love it Kenzie!!! The furniture is perfect for this space! All the fresh floral and plants bring this space to life! 😍👏❤️
You guys are very talented. Looks good. I think it might need a little something to section it off though. I might add one of those freestanding planter boxes with legs.
Hi Kenzie!Your yard looks really nice now!!It is always satisfying to make improvements on our homes whether its inside or outside!!!Enjoy your cute space!!😁🌷🦋🌼🌺🐞🌹
Project turned out real nice, but wow that rug is expensive! Any cheaper alternatives? You might even consider spray scotch guard for your cushions, color last longer. 😎
we haven’t had any problems to far. we put up the shade about a week ago, and have definitely had some windy days, but so far so good! we will probably take the shade down but keep the posts up when winter comes around 😊
This is absolutely beautiful!!! My only suggestion is that you should have treated or put tar on the wood portion that is in the pots because when you water the flowers, eventually the wood will rot.
wow your patio looks so pretty! and the wood poles are a such a great idea! a little suggestion...maybe you could use a protective stain so the water of the plants doesn't ruin the wood
Does the shade sail work well and provide nice relief from the sun? I just bought a few because I also don’t want to spend the money on a gazebo. I hope they will do the job. Great video! Can’t wIt to give my deck a makeover
we screwed up so you don’t have to 😉 lollll if you try this whole canopy situation, let me know how it works for you!! 🫶🏼
Kenzie: Can you share how the canopy and wood held up since then?
Yeah Pinterest will have you looking so crazy! I tired that last year and mine blew to the ground and cracked the concrete inside LOL so we had to rethink some things

yes!! these two planters were $18 from walmart and work GREAT for this 👍🏻 thanks for watching 🥰
Fantastic idea re the pots sliding into the poles but I’d have filled them with fake plants because surrounding your poles with moist earth will rot them.

Wow Kenzie it looks awesome. My patio is a blank canvas at the moment, your video has inspired be to do a makeover.💗💗💗
yayyy girl! you totally should 🤭 outside time is therapeutic!!
Project turned out real nice, but wow that rug is expensive! Any cheaper alternatives?
You might even consider spray scotch guard for your cushions, color last longer. 😎
that’s a great idea! 😊 we got the rug a few years ago so i didn’t realize the price, i will look for some cheaper outdoor options for ya 🤍
Thanks for that tip. I’m going to Scotchgard my cushions now. ❤
Beautiful ❤

So nice! How does the shade thing hold up with the wind?
we haven’t had any problems to far. we put up the shade about a week ago, and have definitely had some windy days, but so far so good! we will probably take the shade down but keep the posts up when winter comes around 😊
I love the pots around the posts 🥰 you did an amazing job and it looks great 😊
thank you, leslie! i think the flowers make the whole space come to life 🤭 thanks for saying hi! 🥰🫶🏼
You should stain your planter boxes to match the wood on your chairs. The patio turned out great.
This is absolutely beautiful!!!
My only suggestion is that you should have treated or put tar on the wood portion that is in the pots because when you water the flowers, eventually the wood will rot.
Very nice
Looks beautiful 👍🏼❤️😉🇨🇦
thank you, sharon! 🤭🫶🏼
wow your patio looks so pretty! and the wood poles are a such a great idea! a little suggestion...maybe you could use a protective stain so the water of the plants doesn't ruin the wood
yes!! that’s a great idea. i’ll put that on my list, thank you, carolina! 🥰🫶🏼
Everything turned out so pretty. I was thinking some bougainvillea would look amazing on the pots to trail up the wood 😍
Love it!
thanks girl 🤭🫶🏼
Does the shade sail work well and provide nice relief from the sun? I just bought a few because I also don’t want to spend the money on a gazebo. I hope they will do the job. Great video! Can’t wIt to give my deck a makeover

thank you! 😊
