    Awesome video. Thank you! I just picked up my h22a4 head. I just need a f23 block and k20 pistons now. I am putting a g23 in my accord wagon.

      Never tried Cometic, I used Felpro one time and we found out it was the caused of oil leak and never used any other brand after that other than Honda headgasket. Not sure w/c cost more than Oe or Cometic. If it's about same price maybe 1 day l'll give Cometic a try.

    If I'm use the f20b head cylinder do I need to cut the f23 water pipe?

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, coz f20b cyl head thermostat housing is the same as H22, H23a. Unless you buy the Tracktuff water coolant pipe w/c plug n play, no cutting require.

    Could you do this build with a bored f22a block? Have a couple of those laying around and want to build something NA.

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and it'll be g22. The engine will be similar to a H23a (bluetop) they have same 95mm crank except your f22 is 50mm main bearings. I'm not very familiar on g22 build as far as w/c piston to use but for timing belt areas, use H22.

    Hey Sagitt. Where can i find an Oem F23 head gasket. Cant seem to find an Oem gasket.

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hondapartsonline.com, there are 2 F23 headgasket they sell (12251-paa-a01 and a02) either one can be use but always check the copper rivets, if it's will be sandwhich by 2 surfaces, simply remove it. The 2 dowell pins on the block will guide it center. You can also check Amazon, someone is selling it. If you cant buy it online, there's always stealership ( more $$ of course) but less headache in the long run. You dont have to worry about oil leaks. Not sure what type of plugs did you use on cyl head, in case you use kstuned plugs. I recommend to smear some sealant on top and bottom part for added assurance. Seen others complain about oil leaks still. I use sealant called Mega grey, it's same stuff as Hondabond.

    What pistons should we use for low compression?

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  ปีที่แล้ว

      Variety of piston brand off the shelf to use actually. I'm using k20a2 Cp piston coz it does'nt have a wrist pin offset. No need to install piston backwards to orient the piston pin offset like regular F23 piston. Are you thinking of boosting the g23? Pick a k20a2 piston that is advertise to have a of 9.1 to 9.6. 1 ratio for example and visit www.zealautowerks.com, type all information together w/ k20 piston dome CC value. From there that'll give you an idea.

    For the oil drain plugs could i weld before i get the head resurfaced

    • @sagittnet2158
      @sagittnet2158  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, weld it shut then send it to get resurface. If your plan is welding it, might as well add a material on the #2 oil drain. Its on the intake side. That way you can use a aftermarket headgasket if you wish. I found out that using other than OE headgasket, it leak oil on that side. You can watch one of my vlog about it. I showed where it was that aftermarket gasket not covering oil drain much.
