Hey Sagitt Net2, do you have any videos showing how to inspect the H22 block? I need to rebuild this motor but know nothing about it. I have 2 blocks, one just got resurfaced , the other one spun bearings. I need to make sure this new block has good cylinder walls. do you have IG or discord?

I dont think l ever did a video on H22 blocks except for the recent H22a4 w/ f23 internals. It's the episode about the k2h intake manifold. I l shown how l build that H22a4 block. Anyway, F and H block have the same inspection procedures. Make sure sure cylinder bores are not out of tolerances. If you have no oil consumption problem on your H block before, you can put everything together but make sure to check all your piston ring gap clearances. Don't hone your H block if it has a OE frm sleeve.

Hey Sagitt, I'm going to be building a h23a1 block with an H22a4 head soon. I just sent out the block for CSS and new sleeves and will use forged internals. Can you give me any tips on what needs to be done to get the two to work? I've heard that I might have to plug something in the head for coolant but everything online is conflicting. I know that the G23 builds you have to do that, but unsure that is needed with the H23a1 block. I already pulled the plug from the block for the vtec, but is there anything else that I need to do to prep the Frankenstein build? Do I really need to have oil squirters? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Basically you are building a H23vtec and yes, you did alright by removing the oil restrictor from the block. There's no cyl head plugging needed, H23a1 block w/ H22 are compatible. You need to use H22 headbolts or use Arp headstuds if you like. You need H22 thermistat housing and water coolant tube, h22 waterpump and h22 crank gear and cam gears.

Your H23a1 block already have the plug for the oil squirters passage. Its almost the same build like my recent stroker, except l'm using a f23 crank n rods, yours are H23a1 crank and rods. Since you are having the block resleeve, and you're using forged rods, your piston selection are endless. Just remember about P2w clearances and pay attention on conrods recess for the bearing make sure to put it on correct location. I think that just about it and also if you are using the h23a1 timing belt tensioner. Just do like l did how l elongate the hole a bit, otherwise you'll be struggling to install the belt. Ok brother, good luck on your build.

You dont really need the oil squirters, you'll be fine. I only did it coz l want to proved to my self that it can be done. Its a lot of work and lots of parts wasted after it was a success.

Did you already sent your block to get it done. Usually the new piston has to go w/ it, that way you tell them what you want for your piston to wall clearances.

The H22 stroker (f23 crank, rods) is NA setup due to the H22a4 OE pistons been modified. But my other engine, Civic w/ g23 @19psi, Cd5 H22 is also @19psi.

I don't understand. The title mentions K20 pistons, in H-Series block, with F23 conrods. However I remember over a decade ago when the G23 build surfaced from someone tinkering with F23 rods in the H-Series. I haven't really followed what's been done with this type of Frankenstein since then, so I didn't know if using K-series pistons was another avenue that builders of this type motor have since used, while the video was mostly about the use of H-Series pistons by comparison? Towards the end of the video, you mention it's H22a4 pistons+block, with F23 rods.

Ok, sorry for title making it a bit confusing. You can use K series piston on H block providing it's been iron sleeve and k series also comes in 87mm. I should have mention it. But mostly what l was refering is installation of k piston being backward compare to H22 piston on f23 rods. K series piston actually is the best combo for f23 rod 'coz of piston height w/c is same as f23 piston. It's not going to stick out like H22a4 piston like l showed on video. I was also following the guy who created the 1st g23 back in the day. You remember that too huh!

What l have is a g23 using H22a4 block, F23 crankshaft and rods w/ h22a4 pistons. Instead of using F23 block l used H22a4. I forgot to mention the crank at the end of the video. Hope this clears it up. I'll add it on the tittle. Tnx for bringing it up.

@@kylecurry6841 That's kool man, I actually made a video more like a tribute to that person who created the g23(non vtec) but l didn't upload it. But l might mention him one if these day. I think he pulled his thread or write up about how to build the g23 coz HT didn't stickied it. You lucky you got one, which one was yours if you dont mind me asking?
