Resealing oil pan and rechecking conrod bearing condition. I didn't like the result and I ordered, removed and replaced conrod bearings but no help. Now I'm finally convinced the ticking noise was from piston slapping the cylinder walls.

On this episode I took all my subscribers comments, suggestion on what could cause the ticking or slapping sound during idle. It gave me a chance to know and find out if the G23BK engine is healthy for another re-tuning session to find out if relocating the wastegate mount will fix the boost creep issue during previous tuning session.

You are the man..Great job
Sounds awesome! So torquey
The links are upside down fyi. Setup looks good though.
Are you refering to the adjustable link? If it is, l chosed to do it that way so the moisture will drain out but it's unlikely will happen ciz of the jam nut. Thanks for pointing it out.
Beautiful motor btw
Thanks
Hola donde puedo buscar la herramienta de sacar los resortes
I got these tool from ebay. Amazon carries it too. Search for "Valve keeper remover tool".
This looks great very expensive to Ireland though lol guess im going the welded route, two an 10 fittings on the back will be good? I follow a guy he also vents the h22s crankcase pressure right below the oil filter theres a keyway hes tapped into it even has some kinda solenoid on it always learning with these thanks for the videos 😊
I wish parts prices are all the same in all areas. It really work well if a extra baffle is installed like l did. Otherwise can will fill w/ oil quick. Thanks and weld a fitting is not bad at all.
@sagittnet2158 so that extra baffle u installed was very clever did u just cut thin piece of stainless and secure it under the cam guard thing?
@hserieshooligan1997 yes and l've seen a youtuber w/ same setup w/o the plate and can got filled up w/ oil quick.
i know SD when i see it
Thanks man!
You still using yonaka 6 puck? Or what clutch you using? I run a sleeved h23a1 block/95mm crank/h22 eagle rods/87.5mm k20a2 pistons/kelford cams/gt3582 .82/e85 My current clutchmax 6 puck can’t hold boost but it does have around 40k on it so I think it’s just wore out.
I'm using a B series transmission on this motor and Mc Leod clutch is the brand. I still have H22 Yonaka clutch but it's on my other G's. How much power you got on your motor and if it has 40k miles. I think its time for a new clutch replacement.
@@sagittnet2158 haven’t been on dyno since boost but made 260whp at 7500 rpm all motor, feels around 4-500whp on 12 psi. On a budget so looking at the xtd 2300lb pp and 4 puck, or maybe a 2300lb pp with the yonaka 6 puck. I’m definitely close to twin disc power but like I said budget is an issue right now. And yeah the clutchmax was a great clutch I think it’s just wore out.
@@sagittnet2158 most of those miles were all motor.
@@sagittnet2158 how much power did the yonaka hold? I’m thinking about the yonaka disc with a 2300lb spc pressure plate.
@DohcJames it made 430whp can't remember the TQ numbers. No issue at all.

One of the best builder and humble Kuya @sagitnet2
Yeahhh maaannn!
I want turbo on fit Kuya 😂😂😂😂
Lets go!
@ ok Kuya I wanna keep it stock with turbo
This build is looks more faster and crazy in actual
Kuya do you like down shift
Rev match is the key hehehe
👌
Sounds so nice man!! Great job on that car!
Thanks man!
Hey what axles are you using?
Driver side is Insane shafts, pax side is from O'reillys. They're from 89 Acura integra. Even though l'm using a B series tranny, it's a custom setup for driver side. It has a H22 halfshaft and l used my driver side axle from previous setup.
yo thats the homie 2jz_chad in the supra
his @ is @2jz_chad
Kool man! Thought l put him and his JZ, it looked sicked! Pls let him know and tnx.
On a G23 F23a1 block with a 4P H22 pro head what's safest high compression to run for oval track all motor with K20a2 pistons. I'm new to this and enjoy ur videos
Nippon racing piston for CTR will give the highest comp ratio and if choosing forged piston like CP piston it really depends on type of fuel to use. E85 will be best for hi comp motor, runs cooler and less detonation. But tbh, l dont use my car on any track so l can't really give you exact recommendation. We've used NR k20 ctr piston and never have an issue.
@sagittnet2158 right on. We run racing fuel. I don't know much about e85. I appreciate u and ur videos. They have given me the confidence to slowly build my G23.
Also KS tuned rods h beam
@jeffkidd8296 thanks and goodluck on your build man
De que planeta viene esa nave?😮😮🎉❤
Its vtec world hehehe. Thanks
Que tal jala ?! 😮
It's simple taste run for my friend, we'll get there and thanks
It's been raining for over 3 weeks , last night was the first dry night, I got to take the f20b crx 450hp for some power runs last night.
Nice! I bet it was fun to finally get out in the dry. Getting a little bit of adrenaline meter going eh!
@sagittnet2158 yes for sure. I picked up 2 set of 225-45-15 rs-4 waiting for the weather to get warmer to put them on . Also bought a meth/water kit for it. 600hp soon till I get a new gear set then I'll take it up more. But 600-650 might be plenty for a crx lol
@brianburris Dammmm dude, for a CRX! That much powah! Don't know how you can you control it man! Your rush is worst than mine hahaha but l lovex it. I made 460 on my previous G's and l'm done lol! Okay man! Tnx and be safe.
@@sagittnet2158 we don't have e85 pumps around, we have to buy a drums and pump it ourselves.
@@brianburris so if I'm using wiseco pistons what compression should I buy and do I still need to turn the timing arrow the other direction. I'm asking because I just want to make sure I'm right on what I seen in ur video
Hahahaha i love the “step on it” not afraid to show off that power get it up there 😅 sounds great man kudos on the build man seen the process first time seeing it on the road too i like to hear more stutututututu with blow off valve and stuff but i dont mind that quiet sounds either
well not exactly quiet but not as loud turbo , but still it seemed quick
I could tell when he was holding back so l kept remind him of sending it lol! Somehow the authentic HkS bov doesn't make much noise compare to a replica (BoV). Thanks
What boost you running?
14psi
Good stuff
Thanks and my friend really enjoyed it. I think he's pulling the trigger to have his EJ1 boosted lol!
@ That’s awesome! Nothing like sharing a hobby/passion with someone who then makes it their own. One of these days I’ll see you driving around town hopefully I’ll be in my DB8. I’ll be sure to honk and give a thumbs up 🫡🤙🏾
@moonweezy kool man!
just wait till u want more like 500 whp than u will have tracion probelms
That more needed on drag strips and stuff like that lol , i’d wrather run 250-300 hp street that’s more then enough fun 😅 also not gonna get pulled over alote
That's one of the reason why l kept it below the threshold and also it still have OE sleeve. I think the power it has is ideal, its controllable in any circumstances.
I agree, it actually more fun to drive it w/ the power its got compare to what l used to have in it.
what do you mean filling itself? is there a tank membrane inside that rectangular RO system?
It hold a 2 filter inside the box
Use ATI or fluidampr damper for bearing safety, maybe that would help with the noise too.
Been wanting to install a ati damper. Just need to save up more. One of rhese days l'll have it. Thanks
@sagittnet2158 i was thinking about this also, cause if I remember, is this the bottom end without the balance shafts?
@jlgibson1983 yes, b/s deleted
i love the content but BRUH. stock rods revving to 8k with reused bearings on a turbo frankenstein setup just does not compute for me. i think i recall you kept the balance shafts but did you find true TDC and fully degree both cams? because you definitely added a second cam to a short block thats factory single cam which would inherently add imbalance.
It was OE rods when it was NA motor and l replaced it w/ forged conrods when l went turbo.
@ okay i must have missed that but good on you with the rods. what about tighter clearance rod/journal bearings and degreeing the cams? youll have premature wear on higher clearance bearings especially if it isnt timed within 3-5 degrees of true tdc and almost guaranteed rod knock. h22’s exhaust timing marks cant be relied on for an F23 bottom end without degreeing. pre/post-detonation is definitely gonna be the first culprit of crank walk in this circumstance
I have f22b2 motor and want to put a h22a4 head…g22 Frankenstein but not sure what’s needed
Not familiar w/ G22 build, what headgasket and piston to use. But the idea is the same lije g23 build. You'll need H22 cylinder head, camshafts and gears. F22 waterpump gear need to be swap w/ h22 gear. H22 crankshaft gear and timing belt. If staying NA, bore the block to 86mm and use k20a2 piston (no boost, unless you have the resleeve). Pay attention on headgasket you'll use, thats were the problem start and made people stayed away on these project. It's a mix procedures, if it's a G23 build, l say only use Honda OE headgasket and no worry on oil leak. Since your block is F22, just your your judgement on it, make sure all oil drain ports at covered. For plugging the head, you can do like l did or if you like, use kstuned head plug but smear hondabond on top and bottom side. Kstuned also sell a waterpump for G23, send them a email and ask if their waterpump can be use on G22. I think you can but dont quote mo on that. If you choose to make your own waterpump, thats okay too. Goodluck on your build.
side to side play is completely normal on the rods tbh if it didn't have any id be more concerned, haven't finished video yet lol
It was well w/in specs but l thpught it was a good idea to installed a new bearings sinced it was open and the engine is making that weird noise. Part of eliminatiion process. Thanks
Probably just need a valve adjustment
Wish it was, l checked it 3× already.
wow happy you atleast found the culprit of the issue you live and learn… atleast u found it sooner then later brother now u can hopefully stop that ticking and it’ll be fresh again !
Thanks man! It's very annoying on 1st start.
Great work bro and yes u are aspiring me to finish my build no lie I build the swap 20 years ago have it in back of my truck seating there since early 00.so yes u are aspiring everyone I believes, great work, great content.
Thanks man and really appreciate all the support.
Te felicito. amigo. Inpecable ese trabajo. Saludos desde Hidalgo Mexico.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. Mucho gracias karnal!
Random.... can i use an H22A p13 head on a JDM F20b (vtec 2.0 DOHC) bottom end?? I have asked around and people say yes -> just use H22a headgasket
@@sbtoonz1358 Yes you can and the last F20b that l did swapped for my friend cd5. We used a Honda OE H22 cylinder head gasket. Cometic sell F20b headgasket also.
@@sbtoonz1358 H22 and F20b cyl head are similar, it has same combustion chamber size except for valves. F20b valves is 1 mm smaller. You'll be fine putting it together.
I remember when you said you were reusing the bearings . I thought to myself thats a BAD idea, being that bearings are not that much money. I believe in spending the extra money and doing it just once.
Definitely agree.
Yeah it was a bad call reusing a bearing!
I shouldn't cheap out on that bearings.
Won’t be long till those cylinder walls turn to egg shape with major scoring. Sucks to see hard work being done and having piston slap be an issue.
@anthonycha8857 We'll see how long it'll last.
lil loud for me. sounds strong, great!!!
Do you have a video with how to remove factory cables from 97 accord?
None, it'll require the removal of the ex pipe from the flex joint to catalytic and loosening the heatshield to gain access on 2 bolts that's holding the cables rubber grommet
I prefer the Vibrant muffler sound better than the Yonaka, in my opinion.
Thanks, l have a Yonaka on my 95 Accord and also a vibrant muffler and l agree. Yonaka sounded better.
It’s not oil starvation? 🤔
None, oil pressure is good and it oil was verified visually prior to starting the engine
Love it !
Ride on man!
Do open waisgate
We did on 1st tuning session. It went to 20 psi.
😮 asombro 🫢🎉❤
Turned out to be not bad at all! Thanks
👍👍 how many pounds of boost?
14 psi
Good job bro
Thanks my brother!
Congrats
Thanks man!
Felicitaciones amigo, ahora sí tiene poder.
Quite a bit more than l wished for and yes., she moves man! Thanks
How much do they charge for a tune all motor h22
Discount prices last black friday 350. It varies also if your'e running e85
That’s nice man really happy for u bro all the hard work pay off. Gud power. And I know she got more in her. 450 500 am sure.
450 is easy on g23 but l didn't send it due to it still use OE sleeve.
@ ok bro. I can’t wait to make that kinda power.
How is the traction kuya? Lots of torque steer?
Quite a bit of torque steer. It can use a LSD. That's also 1 of few reason why l didn't go in 400. Salamat p'mangkin!
