Depends. If you want to play Switch games at all, you'd want a Switch. But if you want pure retro games, that work perfectly for PSP and under, you might want a Chinese handheld, yeah.
DS needs some optimization, specially considering MUCH WEAKER phones can perfectly run DS at native resolution, and even at higher, I could run DS perfectly fine with the high 3D resolution option enabled and the Scale x2 filter applied on my old LG Q6, which can't even run Minecraft well anymore, the Switch is plenty more powerfull and perfectly capable of running DS perfectly in terms of hardware capabilities, it's just being limited by software, I wonder how well it would run on Android, considering that under Android it can even run Genshin Impact, and Genshin is by NO means an easy game to run, even current mid ranges struggle with it, said mid ranges will have a literally perfect performance emulating DS, and it's even more clear when you take into account the Switch can even emulate itself under Linux

@@idontknow390you used a deck for a long time? the weight is nothing. can go hours holding the thing. its got such a good form factor the weight ends up being a non-issue. switch is more portable but not by much... if you want something for portability, retroid pocket or anbernic devices beat both switch and deck in both portability and battery life. switch does not have ports of those higher requirement emulators that run well. the switch is just too weak. thats where devices like the deck or rog ally come in. the switch is actually in some weird area in the middle that doesnt make too much sense for most people for that specific purpose. its fine, but there are better options on all fronts. if you chip the oled model its a pretty good device for it, but you either buy it premodded costing more than a deck which is pointless or you risk damaging your existing switch. im not saying switch is bad for this stuff, but the deck is just flat out better. if i can find some time i can do a side by side in video. have both available to me. the one device people seem to forget that is pretty insane for emulation, portability, battery life and interesting library or games is the ps vita which is in kind of a perfect spot for what most people want imo
No the best Mode for emulate ds IS with desmune for android.
Can I in the 3ds and ds emulator turn the picture layout to vertical and put the tablet on its side so that the image displays more like the original console. Since the joycons are detachable, I don't think this would be a problem, but is there such a feature in the emulator itself?
Would you rather mod a Nintendo Switch or buy one of those Chinese handheld emulators that runs everything?
Depends. If you want to play Switch games at all, you'd want a Switch. But if you want pure retro games, that work perfectly for PSP and under, you might want a Chinese handheld, yeah.
Get a steam deck it on sale for $350. Then upgrade with a 1tb ssd for $100. It can emulate everything up to the ps3.
@@wcw209suck I did that but grown bored of the Deck. Its too damn big and bulky for a handheld.
Any ability for it to do xbox 360?
Nope
not all are hackable lol what do you say?mine is patched so not hackable :/
All are hackable, patched needs the hardware mod.
How do I setup Dusckstation on my Switch?? Any help?
We’re can I buy one
testing psp emulation on the switch - doesn't test monster hunter? what's the point?
Feel free to go ahead and test whatever game you like, film the videos and share the link here! Looking forward to seeing your work :)
who wants to play ocarina of time 3DS version when you can play the N64 version
Cuz 3ds better
could i send in my switch for money and and you mod it?
no dpad
hopefully switch 2 will be hackable
Great vid. But my dude... it's pronouced "Jaann Dark" with a soft "Je" pronounced like the "ge" in garage.
"D'Arc" is one word... The d apostrophe means "of." She's a French historical figure and in English it's literally "Joan of Arc." So at least go "Jane Dark."
But GnD Arc??? What the heck bro?! 😅
Lo curioso es que los anglos... Pronuncian todo feo. 🤭😬
@@furbi963... And you know what we think of how you sound when you speak English?

Lately I've discoveered galaxys S phones with? OLED screen and PS dual shock controllers are great tool for your emulation/ gaming needs
Anything really
I’ll mod my switch once the new Nintendo console comes out.
If you don't have a Switch though you're better off getting something like Odin 2 Pro or another powerful Android device since you'll be able to play PS2, Gamecube, and others the Switch can't run.
Fake how are you running 3ds? Literally can't get it to work at all or even turn on.
“Merry-oh”? C'mon. Have you never played a Mario game and heard him say his own name? Please tell me one, single, game where he pronounces it as "Merry-oh". 😂
Merry Christmas!
I’ll never mod my switch, for nostalgic purposes, I want to stay the same thing. If I need emulators I can always use my phone/tablet.
I was thinking about hacking my Switch so I Googled what emulators run well on the Switch and this video popped up. Thanks for making this video. It made me decide not to do it. A cheap $60 Anbernic device has better emulation performance than this.
Check my video on what the Android side on the Switch can do.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds The Android side looks promising. So when I jailbreak my system for the first time and it asks about partitions, should I set the Android one to 16 GB right off the bat so I don't have to re-partition again later? Does the Android side read your games from the EmuMMC or Android partition?
And Nintendo will banned your account thanks you for showing to them.
This has been around since the release of the Switch :)
