I made this recipe twice this week. The first one I made on Monday. The only thing I did different was add half a crumbled graham cracker. Then I made another one tonite with a few changes. I used cannabis infused coconut oil and a teaspoon of wild Mesquite honey. Both turned out delicious. Not sure I will be able to comment later...lol.
Hubs requested I make this again. This time I added raisins and served it over a small scoop of vanilla ice cream with a crumbled graham cracker. This is quickly becoming a favorite desert for him as he is working on slimming down and this is low calorie.
Grrrrreaaaat! healthy and very very practical! I am very excited and looking forward to baking this. The great thing is, it is literally like biting into your fresh apples! Thank you !!!
I thank you so much for using coconut oil. I have a friend who is horribly allergic to any morsel of dairy and i was thinking how i didn't have margarine, but you using coconut oil is like a big ol slap of DUH
+Cinda Kellogg I found mine on clearance. I bought cause I thought it was a pretty red color. You see the openings on the sides? I hate that. If your need to fill up You can't it comes out the sides. So you can make everything in these. But it washes and looks great. However can't be used as much as I intended.
+Kiddos Koral I had a feeling that the design wasn't so good. They are very attractive but I've always thought the design was a little off. I value your opinion...thanks friend!
Heidi, thanks for another simple Sunday video. Question, what is the purpose of the coconut oil? I know it's good for you but would the apples be ok without it? Blessings! :-) Lori

Well, you’re actually both correct. Both coconut oil and olive oil are healthy, having great health benefits yet both have unhealthy parts to them too. Coconut oil is high in fat (which does make it great for Keto diets) but it is high in cholesterol. While olive oil has a ton of amazing positive properties, it is unfortunately very high in calories. So as is with any healthy food, just use in moderation. There’s not a lot of “perfect” foods. A food may be low in calories yet high in carbs and another food may be high in fiber yet also high in sugar. For instance, I have to be careful with dried cranberries, because I can eat them like crazy like how most people eat potato chips. Because they are great for antioxidants and low in calories however the carbs and sugar is extremely high! So, just like dried cranberries, you just gotta have your foods in moderation. Anything in moderation is a key to a healthy diet and to not use anything to excess 😄
@@heidishome2937 obviously moderation is indeed key but to exclude 50 calories of sugar while adding a thousand of oil and claiming that it is about the calories is a logical fallacy.
