Hi from Western Australia. Just waiting on my stewed apple to cook, mine has taken a bit longer to cook, 18 mins so far as my Mum likes hers really soft. looks good so far.
timing will definitely be different depending on what you are using, oven, air fryer, smoker, etc. So with the smoker you will just need to experiment a little more do get it down. Glad you tried it!
Great video! I have just harvested a bumper, Bumper crop from my apple tree this week. We spent a whole afternoon and evening just washrag and drying them. I make baked apples, crumbles, pies etc with them throughout the year. Many go to friends and family, because I don't have neighbors to give them to; my nearest neighbor lives a quarter of a mile down the road, and its a riding stables, so the horses get a good few of them, lol. I core and peel many of them, slice them up and freeze with some water and lemon juice, but there's only so much freezer space. Obviously there's far to many to distribute, so many of them get thrown over into the meadow for the birds, rabbits and fowl that inhabit it. I counted 21 Partridge in my back yard this morning, they will eat ground fall apples if they're mushy too, sort of old and rotting.
Thank you!! That is a lot of fresh apples, I am jealous! haha. Do you have a dehydrator? We had one growing up along with a few apple trees in our backyard. My mom always cored, sliced, and then dehydrated a bunch of them for a yummy snack.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt You wouldn't have been jealous of the amount of hours we spent washing and drying them, lol. No, I don't have a dehydrator; I've spent months, maybe a couple of years mulling it over in my mind, but at the end of the day the jury is still out on whether a dehydrator would take out all the antioxidants and other benefits from fruit and vegetables. I mean, your reading from the girl whose family haven't had a cold, cough or flu since early 2016; all because of elderberries (got two Elder trees in my back yard); more potent against any cold or flu deterrents that one can buy from the pharmacy, and since it's only water, elderberries and honey in the recipe, all natural ingredients, whereas over the counter meds are full of chemicals. I sure ain't about to fix what's not broke by putting elderberries in a dehydrator. :)
@@laurenpiantino8312 Elderberries aren't apples though :) :) hehe. Just a suggestion for the apples and a few articles I found. www.webmd.com/diet/dehydrating-food-good-for-you#1 and healthyeating.sfgate.com/dehydrated-apples-healthy-5756.html and dryingallfoods.com/health-benefits-dried-apples/ and www.healthline.com/nutrition/dried-fruit-good-or-bad#TOC_TITLE_HDR_2
@@inthekitchenwithmatt My point was that many people put all kinds of fruit and veg in a dehydrator, Including elderberries. At this moment in time, I'm not willing to put any foods in a dehydrator, but I will look at your links when I get back home, as I'm just off out now. :)

Awesome!! :) :)
Green apples cook faster for sure. I figured that out. I cooked them in the electric smoker way below 300. The green one turned to mush unfortunately.
