    Really nice video. Since my canister stand tube popped out when I dropped it on the bench. Your video was the clearest on how to reinstall the tube. Thank you

    Is there a way to take out the tube without bending anything? I don’t like the idea of bending any metal on my parts. Thank you.

    Looks like you did not take the locking tabs off the outside of the plastic housing and swap to the metal housing. My FJ Cruiser has locking two locking tabs. Is there a place for them to swap over or is it unnecessary?

      @@RAWJITSU yeah mine only had one, see timecode 33:52 where I transfer it over.

    I did my 2023 4runner with first oil change at 1000 miles. Did it all right, I thought, but noticed an oil stain under the car, on my new pavers! Do you think it was a counterfeit aluminum cap, or mis-positioning of the new o-ring? really worried about more leaking, if I go back to the metal over the plastic!

    • @brycecarlson
      @brycecarlson  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Depends on where you got the cap from. If it was from Amazon or eBay I know there are tons of counterfeit parts out there that are not made to the exact same tolerances. So far I have had no drips underneath the vehicle that I have seen. I have put about 200 miles on it since I did the change over.
      On the bad o-ring I did notice a bit more squeaking from it as I hand tightened the filter as compared to the plastic housing. I was very liberal with fresh oil on it as you can see in the video. To the point that it is a bit of a mess, but I did not want it to bind up. Maybe you had a bit of that going on as well? Hard to say exactly.

    • @davebrucher2283
      @davebrucher2283 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Perhaps it will not leak if I try it again. Be very careful with the O-ring, lubricate and with great care, put into place. Then, a piece of cardboard under the spot, to catch/see if there is any leak. Then, if it leaks, the aluminum will get "recycled". Thanks. @@brycecarlson

      @@davebrucher2283 yeah, not a problem. My other thought after I made that comment yesterday was torque spec. Maybe it was just slightly under torqued. I would be nervous about overturning but possibly it was not tight enough?

    • @davebrucher2283
      @davebrucher2283 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brycecarlson When you put on the housing, hand tight, it looked like it was more than 18 ft./lbs when you checked with torque wrench. Perhaps too tight, or too loose. Good things to be aware of. Thanks.

    • @sheepdog3828
      @sheepdog3828 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Always buy OEM. You spent thousands on the truck then cheap out a few bucks???? UNREAL......
      Get OEM and no need to torque to 18 lb-ft.
      The O-Ring performs the sealing.
      Once the canister is flush with housing you're done.

    7:55 What side way you should put the gasket oil drain plug on!

    • @brycecarlson
      @brycecarlson  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MRNagiii what side? Like what side of the washer should you use? There is only one way it goes on. It will go in between the bolt and the pan. Never had a washer that needs a specific side towards or away from the pan with the 4Runner.

    why should change plastic Oil Filter Cap to metal?

    • @brycecarlson
      @brycecarlson  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I did it because in the past when my vehicles get to high mileage (150-200k miles) the plastic caps can crack and leak oil. This is just preventative as it was not leaking now.

    Good video, Bryce. We produce LED lighting for AUTO. Do you have a plan to upgrade the headlight of 4runner to LEDs? We'd love to invite you to do a product review.

    • @brycecarlson

      Hey! No plans. The 2020 and newer 4Runner comes with LED headlights as standard, and the 2021 comes with LED fog lights as well.

      😅Looks like I triggered some people that are weak Well foreign car levers that support companies that sell money back overseas instead of America I know a vehicle that has 500 torque and 400 horse that gets 32 miles to a gallon are better that actually is good for long trips and off-roading since you all think you're all smart figure out the vehicle I'm talking about don't cry because somebody doesn't like your junk
