- Emilio Estevez's career in Hollywood spans over four decades, with a diverse range of films that showcase his talent as an actor, writer, and director. Emilio Estevez is excelling behind the camera, not just in front of it. One of my favourite works of his is "The Way", where he directs his own father, Martin Sheen.
The Way is such a good film. It is definitely one of his best works,
That film rocks, makes me wanna walk the pilgrimage.
“Judgment Night” is probably one of the most underrated thrillers of the 90s, I always said it was amazing movie

Men on Work and Young Guns... My youth was awesome...
I valeted his car at a hotel in Chicago once like a decade ago and he was super sweet and tipped well. I thought he was Martin Sheen at first because I hadn’t seen him in so long. He looked so much like his dad.
There was an oral history of "The Mighty Ducks" in Time magazine back in 2014, and everyone interviewed had glowing remarks about Estevez. Estevez himself declined repeated interview requests for the article.
He was in the Brats documentary by Andrew McCarthy

I very much enjoyed that film “the Public”. I didn’t find it “too preachy”. I was happy to finally see a film that deals with homelessness in a compassionate and politically conscious way.
I was waiting that whole video for the Night at the Roxburry reference: "and I was like, EMILIOOOO!!" lol Man, he looks just like his dad now.

I'd love if you created a video on what happened to the entire Brat Pack. But the Hulu Documentary "Brats" probably already covered that.
A lot of that documentary was Andrew McCarthy saying, “Oh what happened to my career?” And some of the others graciously coming on and saying “hey it’s not that bad, we had fun.” While others politely saying, “let’s move on from that.”
Matt Dillon was Tex. Estevez was supporting actor.

Oh, come on!! Emilio didn't play Tex, Matt Dillon did! Estevez played his best friend! Did you even see the film? It was written & directed by the writers of Over The Edge (another classic film about teen angst).
He said Emilio played Two-Bit, which he did. And Matt Dillon's name wasn't Tex, it was Dallas.
@@jenisedai02:59 - if I were you, I would watch the video again. Emilio & Matt made two movies together. One right after the other. Both were based off S.E. Hinton novels. The first one was Tex. The second one was The Outsiders. Matt Dillon played the lead in Tex while Emilio Estevez played his best friend Johnny and Meg Tilly played Johnny's sister. It's a great film. You should watch it.
@@TheNameisPlissken1981 You didn't specify, and I've had multiple people call Matt Dillon's character in The Outsiders "Tex", so it's an understandable mistake. Especially when the video spent so long on The Outsiders and about 2 seconds on Tex.

It's a real pity the actors of his generation aren't seen that often anymore, most of them have more acting talent in their little toes than the younger big screen stars of today that all look and sound the same. Signs of the superficial times of today, I suppose so maybe it's a blessing too because movies nowadays are just so ultra dull in every imaginable way, full of gloss but very little substance and talent to hold it all together.
Do one on Christian Slayer . Both of these actors are my awesome child hood .

I met him once. He was in a public library in Los Angeles. I just went up to him and said ''hey how you doing'' while extending my hand to shake his. He's a cool guy and so is his Dad Martin Sheen, whom I also met. I had a little bit more conversation with his Dad, but both were brief. I like to get in and get out. I don't wanna experience anything negative from any of my favorite celebs or otherwise I will never support them in any, way, shape or form.

According to the BRATZ documentary (which you should have watched as part of your research) they didn't like the name because it didn't necessarily make sense and they felt the author of the article was being dismissive for no apparent reason. Also apparently they weren't necessarily friends in real life outside of them working together.

Young guns 2 was one of the greatest films ever i have literally seen it over 200 times,no joke at all.
I just watched the documentary on Hulu called Bratz about the bratpack and their rise and demise. I was really excited to see Emilio Estevez talk about things and his interview was the most lackluster. He seemed like he was the most offended by the phrase and the typecasting. I understand that, but he didn’t have to be such a jag about it him and I was hoping that this would really help propel him back into the limelight.

You jumped from Judgement night (93) to mission impossible (96) to mighty ducks and quote it being 1995… mighty ducks was 92…. I was enjoying this video up to that point. Plus, you mentioned him starring with C Sheen in Men At Work but not in Young Guns… shame.

Emilio went from teenager to middle age very quick. Unfortunately most of his movies are eh so so, but at least 8 movies of his including of course the breakfast club is freaking awesome
"Look, someone threw away a perfectly good white boy!" is a line that will never leave my head. If you haven't seen Men at Work- watch it!
While you're at it you better watch the movie "Better off Dead". That's where the "They gone and threw away a perfect white boy." After John Cusack's character tries jumping off the bridge then he backs out and "Bugar" tells him to "Take it easy bud!" And taps his shoulder hard and he ends up falling off the bridge into the garbage truck and as he's pulling down the street in the garbage fill dump truck two black guys say that line. "Better off Dead" came out in 1984. And "Men at Work" which is a much funnier movie and a better movie. Both are great. But "Men at Work" came out in 1990 man. Same year as "Young Guns 2". They were playing the same time. Emilio directed it and his brother Carlos, a true great brother starred in it with him. But the fact that the movies came out six years apart and neither Emilio, Charlie or anyone was in John Cusack's break up movie except for Curtis Armstrong and everyone's favorite Pedo Dan Schneider, ntm Elizabeth Franklin as well, who was big back in the day. And extra fact. John Cusack's ex in the movie was the first person to get killed in the "ANOES" by Freddy in the first film of the franchise. Tiiinaa!😮 So to you my friend we all give you a big giant "Golf Clap" for your lack of movie knowledge in general. And saying it so proudly. You made my day

You didn’t cover “That Was Then, This Is Now”. It’s my favorite Emilio Estevez movie. His father bought the rights to the story and Emilio wrote the screenplay and starred in it.
No shit. And that was also another film Emilio was in that played in the movies in 1985. Dude was in three great movies in one year. Also that was the third character he played in a movie based on an SE Hinton book. First was "Tex" then "The Outsiders" and last "That was Then, This is Now" all three were great! And WTF did this guy miss that movie for? He was a troubled teen who really got in deep in that one. Ntm Morgan Freeman and Craig Schaefer! Wow Joblo!
The film mightn't have been a hit, but the soundtrack is awesome and the artist was chosen specifically by King and he went to some lengths to secure them.
I think him growing up under a massive father and name (SO much respect for him not selling out like Dad and Charlie did for fake Sheen hollywood made up name) along w being 5’ 7” were constant driving forces that contributed to his overall awesomeness

I read somewhere that Emilio is the most profitable actor of all time if you compare how much his movies cost to make vs how much they grossed. I think Van Damme was second and Mel Gibson was also high on the list
