I agree about "Identity". I bought the dvd just because he ("The Sack") was in it and have watched it multiple times. Of course I like to rewatch thrillers to see if I can spot the "tells" and I usually find a new one with every viewing.

I will always be a fan of The Sac. The fact that he called out the clamor for fame and likability and was then condemned, just endears him to me. I am a steadfast member of the Better Off Dead cult (one of my all time faves), High Fidelity, Grosse Point Blank, Serendipity, Sixteen Candles and even Igor cult of The Sac. Good stuff. I applaud his stance of quality work over money-making, interesting stories over re-hashed subject matter. Seems to be a pattern of those who speak out against the MACHINE of HOLLYWOOD-in full monster voice-being directly shut down by the machine itself. Interesting. 🤔 Thanks for another one. 😉👌
Identity is a really good horror thriller for it's time. It's an interesting story, concept, with some good acting that keeps you on the edge of your seat. You should watch
Better Of Dead was my favourite Teen movie in the '80s...recently watched this gem of a movie with my 21 yro daughter, was pleasently supprised how often and much she laughed at its comedic absurd magic...John Cusack was complimented brilliantly by his class mate in the movie Curtis Armstrong, even used some of his lines later in life to deflate bullies.
He's the shit. Just had a conversation this morning about "Better Off Dead". Or more exact, the hamburger singing EVERYBODY WANTS SOME with Eddie Van Halen's guitar!
Do you wonder if that’s why this showed up in your feed? I just talked about John Cusack last night and lo and behold, here this showed up in my feed. They’re listening to us. 😳
I wish you(the narrator in this video) had seen more of the movies of John's that you speak of. Martian Child, for example deserves a little more love. I imagine people had trouble with it's heart felt tone during a time when super hero movies were just beginning to take over. It deserves more than a casual brush aside you gave it in this video. It also has Oliver Platt in it which pretty much improves any movie right off the rip. Aside from that, Good rundown. For record, definitely check out journey of natty gan. Obviously you're on the younger side, because if you grew up in the 80's yo probably would have seen this movie. Seeing this list reminded me of how many really great movies Cusack has been in.
I found out about this channel today, and started binge watching all the ''WTF Happened to'' series, and (the same date I found out about the channel) a WTF episode is uploaded about my fave actor (i know he is not in much good movies lately but I relate a lot to his anti hero persona)
I asked for John Cusack and you delivered. Thank you! Thank you! Did you notice in all his direct to video movies, he dons a black baseball hat. The third stage of his career (direct to video) is the black baseball hat stage.

Thank you JoBlo and specially thank you Taylor James Johnson for bringing us this amazing and funny content. May you guys have a better 2021.
Re: Utopia - watch the original. Other than that i love many of John's films and always look out for him in films because as you said several times, even if the film isn't great, he usually is (unless he's phoning it in for a d2dvd fodder project, which are usually easy enough to spot). I do wish he'd write more of his own stuff because those are my favourite films of his and anything where he gets to do action is always worth a watch because he's so bloody good at it. I'm sorry Identity got spoiled for you but do revisit it, as it's just a genuinely really good film. I've watched it a few times and always enjoy it, even though i know what's coming. Oh and i think there are 3 of his siblings in GPB by the way.
I loved Better Off Dead when I was a kid and It still hold up today. IDK Where all the hate came from it was always great! The little brother is one of the funniest characters ever and he doesn't even have any lines--which was part of the gag I think. Once Crazy Summer was also great btw.
Big fan of John he always puts in a solid performance it’s a shame the roles he’s been offered recently have all been a bit meh tho he could do so much more!
In mentioning the twist ending of Identity, this is the reason why I hate when TH-camrs say things like “well this game is 20 years old” or “spoilers to a 34 year old movie.” Kids born after media entertainment gets released grow up, discover something long after its theatrical run or long after its console generation has ended. Spoiling something just because it’s old discredits and shows lack of care and consideration for future audiences

I loved him in Love and Mercy and most of his work.
I LOVE Identity. I remember the first time I saw it and I have never forgotten it and watch it from time to time. My mom actually watched it last night xD
I'm not a big fan of horror, but 1408 was a gem of a movie.
You should still see Identity though, such a good movie and great performances
@Cat Egorical you need to watch 2012 and con air
@Cat Egorical and 1408
@JustMe ill give it a shot, thanks
Totally agree. Identity is fabulous. One of my favourites, ever!!! 😁 X x
I agree about "Identity". I bought the dvd just because he ("The Sack") was in it and have watched it multiple times. Of course I like to rewatch thrillers to see if I can spot the "tells" and I usually find a new one with every viewing.
I still watch Grosse Point Blank regularly. It’s one of my comfort food watches.
I am sure he will love being called 'The sack'.
Well, you could also call him the John, right?
I love going to the John to go hit the sack
🤣 lol…. I’d be like….. can you just call me JC….. I like those initials…. THERES this very selfless carpenter I’d like to be associated with…. Not male genitalia!!! 🤦♂️
Exactly
Better Of Dead was my favourite Teen movie in the '80s...recently watched this gem of a movie with my 21 yro daughter, was pleasently supprised how often and much she laughed at its comedic absurd magic...John Cusack was complimented brilliantly by his class mate in the movie Curtis Armstrong, even used some of his lines later in life to deflate bullies.
Wow, I missed the Suicidal Tendencies music video with him in it haha. Nice!
"Better Off Dead"
Always liked his films. Very underrated actor
He's the shit. Just had a conversation this morning about "Better Off Dead". Or more exact, the hamburger singing EVERYBODY WANTS SOME with Eddie Van Halen's guitar!
yep he is shit i agree
Underrated scene in an underrated movie!
Do you wonder if that’s why this showed up in your feed? I just talked about John Cusack last night and lo and behold, here this showed up in my feed. They’re listening to us. 😳
Love Johns comment describing Hollywood ❤️
After seeing Grosse Point Blanke I’d always thought, and still do, that John Cusack would have been an excellent Batman!
I found out about this channel today, and started binge watching all the ''WTF Happened to'' series, and (the same date I found out about the channel) a WTF episode is uploaded about my fave actor (i know he is not in much good movies lately but I relate a lot to his anti hero persona)
Me too! Surprisingly really good!
There’s one film he made that I don’t remember you mentioning: War, inc. It’s fantastic!
Love his acting, his sister’s too ❤️
I love when they are in movies together
I asked for John Cusack and you delivered. Thank you! Thank you!
Did you notice in all his direct to video movies, he dons a black baseball hat. The third stage of his career (direct to video) is the black baseball hat stage.
Black baseballsack hat trick

My brothers and I call him "The Sack" also lol

The pic of him, Hunter S Thompson and Johnny Depp with a blow up doll in the car needs to be a mural on a huge building. I met him at Fan Expo years ago and I was so nervous I said I love you I mean I love your films... his sister was near him so maybe I was thinking of her. He was dressed all in black with a black hat on and he said I appreciate it thanks lol. Signed my Grosse Pointe Blank picture
I love these videos and I just watched a movie with John Cusack in it. He really is a good actor. 😊His sister is good as well.
I just want to say that I bumped into one of those "WTF Happened..." videos at the start of 2020 (I believe it was the Bruce Willis one if I recall correctly) and now those are one of my favorite videos of all TH-cam. Thank you JoBlo and specially thank you Taylor James Johnson for bringing us this amazing and funny content. May you guys have a better 2021.
“It’s my head Schwartz it’s my head!”
1408 is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations!
I personally thought identity was a great film, I watched it when came out, but without giving it away I thought it was brilliant
High Fidelity is the only rom com that almost can be called a movie. Probably his best work.
Love your stuff here. THANKS!
John cusack “ what’s wrong with me?! I’m a good looking guy !”
If you’re going to make negative comments in a meme-ish way, at least format them correctly 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
Cusack is a great writer and actor, and he's not afraid to speak his mind...
You definitely need to watch Identity, it's a great film, even if you know the twist ending. It's still worth a watch.
Also I loved 1408..
Great video, enjoyed it!
Thanks for putting out good stuff and helping pass this year by guys.
John "Max Schreck" Cusack will "Say Anything" for blood
In mentioning the twist ending of Identity, this is the reason why I hate when TH-camrs say things like “well this game is 20 years old” or “spoilers to a 34 year old movie.” Kids born after media entertainment gets released grow up, discover something long after its theatrical run or long after its console generation has ended. Spoiling something just because it’s old discredits and shows lack of care and consideration for future audiences
