Interceptor is a beautiful machine no doubt. After owning it for 4 years , RE needs to give tubeless tyres and a front dual disc braking setup mandatory.... for other mods the sky is the limit ❤

Been riding the Int650 for about 4 years now. Id say its a perfect canvas for any kind of rider. The 3 others have a specific niche and riding style but Int650 works as the perfect neutral that can be modded and adjusted to different terrain, trips etc without having to change the bike itself.
The only downside is the lack of variety of mods in the market compared to Himalayan, Classic etc.

Just got my SuperMeteor 650 one month ago, Upgrading from a G2 Bullet was a Really Big Difference! I must say the rear shocks are a little tiresome but an Air Cushion has helped me for the most part of it on Indian Roads with BackAche’s and Sore Back issues. Other than that THE BIKE IS JUST MAGNIFICIENT! HATS off to Team RE for this Machine!

I was looking for a bike with the perfect seating position when I stumbled onto the meteor 350. I then found out from the dealership about the Supper meteor was in the pipeline. As soon as ordering became available I ordered it. I have now put about 200 miles on it and couldn't be happier. The bumpy roads of Idaho are no problem for the Supper Meteor with three clicks of pre-load.

If you are used to the aggressive posture, you will love this bike. I did Himalayan Odyssey 2024 with my GT.

    IMPROVEMENTS I want in GT:
    1. Better dashboard, with more accurate fuel indicator and gear indicator as well

    3. 17 inch rear tyres as stock

    Nice vlog as usual.
In the mid segment n 650cc RE holds more than 50% of Indian Market share. Both GT n Int. are a proper value for money products. Every other vlog on these have regular complaining about heat, not a proper digital console n info, tube tyres n their fixing puncture is a nightmare, the 212kg kerb weight etc.
BUT BUT every one who owns ENJOY TO THE CORE for that massive torque n power on Highways. Even the used market twin 650s have good value. Thanks to RE for these Classis Products.

I love my SM650. When I bought it I had programmed my mind that it is a heavy bike and not agile and not for traffic and I’ll use it only on a highway. But in a week everything changed, it’s so much fun and quite easy to manoeuvre and even reversing is actually easier than a inti because the foot pegs don’t get in your way also since the footpegs are front set, the heat doesn’t affect the ankles like in INT or CGT. I loved the INT and only wanted to buy it but my wife pushed me to get the SM but now I don’t regret

I was targeting the Super Meteor 650 since they showed the concept 2 years before launching it. I always wanted a cruiser. I don't have any interest in Ladakh or tough terrains. I just love lazily cruising down village roads and highways. When they launched it, I absolutely didn't like the rear shockers. I was thinking of buying it and making it a solo rider bike. It didn't look like it will serve my purpose. I found and bought a second hand Kawasaki Vulcan 650. That's a power cruiser but I love how reliable the brakes and performance is. It helps me ride slow and steady, but can boost like its brothers (Ninja, ZS etc.) instantly if I need more speed. No regrets. ❤

I bought a continental gt, same color, last year. It's my first real bike and it's perfect for the country roads here in Italy. I did some modifications to it, I changed the rear light with a round one and changed the arrows with some smaller black ones. I also added bar-end mirrors (because of safety, and not only the looks, standard mirrors are really bad) and added a small windscreenin the front, like the one you have on display on the interceptor, but mine is fully blacked out. I also removed the rear handle (it was ugly on the GT, while it looks ok on the interceptor) and added the pillion seat cowl. It looks stunning and everywhere I go people ask me about the bike.

The GT and Int are just perfect. Very similar to the UCE classic. The design is just perfect and timeless. I still miss my Classic 500 Stealth Black.
The only changes I'd do are put USD forks and give tubeless spoke rims as an option (cos of the Him 450 they have the license to use the patent). The alloys just don't gel with the classic lines imo.
Also maybe wider rear tyres and 17 inch wheels to make it a bit more sporty.

Interesting to listen to this conversation, considering all the twins in the marketing, with the perspective of India.

SM is comming, Shotgun still far away.
I have today a Classic 350, and if I was to upgrade It, my choice would probably go to Interceptor or Shotgun.

Good work guys. Talking about 650cc market in India I feel its bit limited as compared to Interntional market which can be seen in design (suspension setup) of this bike. more suitable for international roads I feel. But all are beautiful machines..

Rear suspension is hard but it's ok to leave with only con.
SG is good but Pelion comfort going to compromise..

Can you maybe make a video showing the available accessories for the Himalayan 450?
For example, the various benches, wind protection, guards and so on
There is currently no information here in Europe about what you can choose when purchasing?
It would be great if you could show something like that

I’d beg to differ on your opinion of Int650. I own and use the BS4 2019 Int650 and have 45k on the odometer. Improvements, whether small or big, must be made as a manufacturer especially if you’re still selling it in the market. With little to no upgrades from RE on the Int650, it just reflects RE’s mindset as a company where they’re just behind launching motorcycles every quarter to remain the front runner. Int650 probably falls behind in every aspect that we take into consideration today. No tubeless tyres, no refinement to the engine, poor quality switches (now improved), absolutely poor brakes compared to their competitors, poor shocks, wobble issues, 18in wheels and the list goes on. 4 yrs down, I feel the quality of bikes available in the market today is much superior than what RE is delivering on their new bikes (Himalayan450 being exception). I love my int650 and maintain it more than my own health sometimes however, it is high time they come with major upgrades to the bike other than just color options.

I m a inty owner.. and took it almost everywhere.. and blv me this motorcycle can handel anything thrown at it.. and GT is as they say grand tourer which can give tough competition to other brands and run of their money... The only thing inty n gt need is a USD... n lil bit fatter tyres..

Interceptor can be messed up easily if RE plans to over do it. It can eat some of the triumphs in the retro styling cosidering the price point. Till now RE did good job to it by improving functionally(alloy wheels) rather aestheticially. RE has really good designers. Still requesting RE to hold their thoughts on Interceptor until I am getting one within 2years😅

Even i love the shotgun but fail to connect to it. I need the same sitting position and the bigger classic like look and appeal as the shotgun but with more chrome treatment like switch gear, headlight ring, exhaust pipes, odometers and lastly the tank badges. May be that will be added in the classic 650 soon and may that get good suspension unlike super meteor. I love the Mark 2 interceptor for its generous use of chrome and retro twin pods, tank badge, exhaust etc along with nimble handling, good acceleration, light weightedness yet would love if it gets super meteor like brushed aluminium finish and USD Forks but its footrests are always hindering me and the bike has a slimmer profile and less road presence than other Enfields. So may be the perfect bike doesn't just exist for me.

Can the SG 650 can be my first bike, keeping in mind of it's weight? (I'll use it for occasional use in city, maybe 2,3 short rides in a week. So I want a head turner!)

Interceptor 650 was my original choice, but I went ahead with the Honda CB350 Highness. No regrets so far, but I do wish to own a multi-cylinder motorcycle someday. Taking affordability and practicality into consideration, I'd most likely go for a RE twin cylinder bike. With regards to Shotgun, I think they should have launched a scrambler or adventure bike, because why should Shotgun exist when Super Meteor already exists?

I am ultimately going for better fuel efficiency. Will it cause issues with the engine as the back pressure and air mass at inlet will change. Please advise.

I've owned my Interceptor for nearly 5 years… in the UK… so it's a Euro4 spec bike, and all the better for it. I'm glad I've got the 'original' (yes, I know there were the Redditch/Bradford on Avon bikes in the sixties, but I'm talking Chennai bikes), ’cos it isn't as restricted in what can be played with. The ECU doesn't chuck its toys out of the pram if I fit a booster plug, free flowing headers and silencers, and better intake.
Those first bikes also had a more authentic ’60's/’70's era style, with the ribbed headlamp glass, and deep glossy paint finishes (including a traditional gloss black which I have) rather than the tacky and cheap looking 'matt' finishes and those black wheels (which only looked good on some colours but not all)… don't start me on those pig ugly cast wheels they're fitting to some new bikes.
I think it's true to say that between the teams at Bruntingthorpe and Chennai, they got it pretty damn near right first time with the twins… and we've got Sid Lal to thank for shoving RE back into the world motorcycle market as a serious contender.

And also thank the huge population of Indians who bought the overpriced outdated junk from Royal Enfield over decades which helped Sid Lal to accumulate the money (just like a lottery collecting 50 bucks from 1000s and 1000s of people) to fund the much overdue attempts at upgrades and international launches

    • @ChrisParrett-qo4sx
      @ChrisParrett-qo4sx 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@justathinker8669 Whilst I agree we owe some gratitude to those buyers in the Indian market who bought the outdated designs for so many years, keeping the brand alive, Sid Lal only benefited from those loyal buyers in as much as there was a company for his father's company (Eicher Motors) to buy.
RE were declining (though still shifting numbers of bikes other marques outside of India's tariff borders would only dream of, but only to a low value… per capita… market). Those sales over the decades weren't piling up money for Lal, but merely keeping the old company in business prior to Eicher ploughing money into RE.
Originally Eicher planned to let the company survive as a domestic business, though they knew upgrades were required to meet India's stricter emissions legislation. Lal senior put his son in charge of the RE part of Eicher, and it was Sid who wanted to make RE a world relevant marque again. He persuaded his father to invest more in RE (by selling other companies), so they could first make the Bullet range able to be sold in the west, then invest by building the R&D centre at Bruntingthorpe, poaching 'talent' from around the motorcycle industry, buying Harris Performance to develop chassis etc., and spending the cash to develop prototypes for the twins and others. His father agreed to do it if the company was making a profit within a specified time.
Bike journalists I've spoken to tell me how they all went to the twins' launch in California expecting an entertaining few days riding in the sunshine at RE's expense, reviewing some quaint but still dated revamped bikes with a niche market appeal. They all expected to come back and report on the bikes' historical charm, not on modern retro styled machines that would be capable of selling on merit by the container load, outselling the Jap and European bikes in the same sector.
Not one of those seasoned reporters and road testers expected them to be as good, or as much fun, as they were, and their reports on the bikes reflected that surprise. RE really had got the twins right first time. I know I'd have never contemplated buying one of the old bikes, or one closely related to one, having had a friend with a 500, but a curious test ride on a local dealer's Interceptor demonstrator in 2019 turned into an immediate decision to buy one. It still rates as one of the best decisions I've ever made in over half a century of riding bikes.
