  • Hi everybody. I finished playing the first Witcher game recently. I wanted to discuss my experience with this wonderful game today.

Finally some appreciation for this game!! I'm one of the very few guys who actually like the first game more than the second one. Yeah sue me. There's also a whole lot of nostalgia there as well. I played this game back in 2007 when it came out and loved every moment of it. It got me into the books as well. Mind-blowing soundtrack and atmosphere.

Honestly this game deserves so much praise and love. It's my favourite in the series even including Witcher 3. I almost stopped after the prologue but glad I stuck it through because now I've played it 3 times. I really don't think it *needed* a remake but I suppose it deserves one as long as they do it justice. I just wish more fans had respect for this entry in the series. The atmosphere is unmatched by any of the other games.

Besides Kaer Morhern it actualy has a great graphics for 2007s european stuff. It's about oblivion tier graphics, just less potatoe and more turnip... it's not as turnip as morrowind but yeah it has it's moments in chapters 2-4.

I always thought the combat is actually quite fun. Choosing the different styles and so on, I loved it. Sure, it's nothing like in the newer games, although combat might still be one of the weakest points of Witcher 3, too, but it's really not bad. I also didn't feel like the prologue was particularly bad, idk why people say that. And the graphics are far from horrible, especially in Vizima, I actually found myself admiring the game at some points. And the atmosphere... All in all a very good first adaptation of the books (which are amazing, too).
I really hope they don't mess the remake up, but if they do, I'll still have the original. Just sad for all the people that never wanted to play this gem.

I remember being the greediest mf playing this game. torches sell for more coin than a solid steel sword. I would fill up the two slots that game gives me and boom easy 80 orens

I really really really want to enjoy the witcher 3, but just can't. I've reinstalled it for the 8th time now.

White Orchard can be a slog (and arguably quite a bit of Velen as well) but it's pretty great after that. What helped me stick with the Witcher 3 was playing the first 2 games, so I was invested in both Geralt and the world itself.

play just the story and don’t worry about and get overwhelmed by side quests, unless you need to in order to level up but there’s ways to cheese that if you want. the storyline and world building is top tier and i played the game loooong after everyone else did. if you enjoy red dead redemption and skyrim/fallout you’ll probably really enjoy this too

Stop misusing word "underrated". This game was anything but. It sold well, it allowed CDP to grow into a giant it is today and it has great reviews. Its just an old game.

It's underrated because most witcher 3 fans would never go back to play it nowadays. They "can't deal with old games"
