To clarify about using the staff of Magnus on dragons: dragon breath abilities are considered magic, and draw from an NPC's magicka pool. Drain their magicka, and they can't use breath weapons on you.
Also, I straight-up lost it at the Odaving part.
Dovahkin: "I'll save you!" *shoves the guard inside the building*
Ohdaving: "Don't care." *Noclips through both walls and yeets the poor bastard into the abyss anyways*
You're the only person I've seen other than myself who has championed the dragon-slaying potential of the staff.
It also has an unusually long range & instant travel time.
And to top all that off: Dragons' magicka pools don't level like their health does. They always have low, easily drained magicka.

Finally a "You haven't done this in Skyrim" video with at least a few things I haven't done.
If you kill the cultists of Boethia before talking to the shrine, one of them will be reanimated by Boethia and give you the quest.
That's what I did quite naturally on my first playthrough. I was on a mountain top with my follower when I decided to make a save, because the area was unknown. Me and my follower were just shooting arrows at that Boethias worship place, and when everyone was dead, we went there to loot the bodies.
I had no idea it was a significant place - I just thought that with that many hostile people there, they must be safely exterminated.
@@sarcasticstranger3817 I just imagine it

Using the staff of Magnus on a dragon gives them the hiccups.
I found out about the Staff of Magnus' effect on dragons after doing the College questline. It's one of the best ways to defeat them. Funny part is, I had a dragonpriest build going, so I really felt like I had control over these beasts.
you give me inspiration for a op build using enchant and fortify

Wait, so do those two others there wait for you to cure yourself before they continue?
Like, you spend months going to Morthal and back (hypothetically) and they're just like "So can we join the Dawnguard yet? What if he doesn't come back?"

Never thought about being a vampire at that Isran scene. It's almost always that if you are a vampire as a dawnguard its because of the soul cairn quest or later. Guess thats a thing that can happen.

Witless dagger jabber 💀
There is also a unique dialogue with Delphine. If you visit the dragon burial mound above Kynesgrove before you do the Attic room thing you can tell her that you've been there.
Heres a tip for yall. If you talk to any city guard a lot, theyll reveal places on your map that werent there before. Keep pressing "e" to them til they end with saying "What is it?" ... also if u click on the red & blue flags on the maps of imperials or stormcloaks, they reveal them on your map!
When i figured that one out I was so happy, it makes so much sense. I realized because when you click on the map table you get a message on the top left saying your map was updated or something similar.
im only just now realising that with spellbreaker, the entirety of the college questline can be completed without casting a single spell
What about the entrance?
@@KeepCalmCapybara I think it's possible to get in from above with the help of a certain mysterious bucket, you can go directly to Tolfdir as the quest skips forward

I actually did travel all the way to Kynesgrove with Delphine my first time doing that mission.
I think I did too. You can't travel back with her though, she gets confused halfway through. At that point in the quest she can be seen in both Whiterun and Riverwood, so she doesn't know where to go.
Same, I would also recruit Esbern a follower, and a dog, never doing the main quest line, so I'd have a ragtag group of followers going on quests together
Bro i travelled to solitude with her in my first time 💀💀💀
@@sabaideebeehaha reminds me of similar thing you can do in oblivion, get both martin and jauffre as companions, and bunch of other npcs from quests and dlcs, i think i ended up traveling with 7 or 8 people
I usually do it because I'm trying to get the miserable moo's bare minimum done early on so the game doesn't have a seizure during the Seige of Whiterun, which is another reason why few have ever bothered waiting to reach Whiterun until after receiving the summons to war. It breaks the game either way, might as well just get the medicine down now so you can enjoy the sugar more later. (gods that's an old reference at this point)
The way Iddra yells ”it’s attacking” is so funny.
"It's attacking! 🙄"
Well, you're right. I've only ever done two of these: Started Dawnguard as a Vampire, because I thought being Blade would be fun, only to be disappointed that Isran understandably said no, and blocked Tolfdir's spell with Spellbreaker because I was doing a magicless mage run ala Wizard Of Oz and it was the only way I could think to do it.
If you have the anniversary edition, you can get the warlock ring from the fishing quests. It gives you a really weak ward when you block with weapons. Thats how I did it

Festus Krex was by far my absolute favourite character in the entire game. I love his dialogue so much
One of the best characters that actor did. Among the other 1000 people lol
Ok, using the Staff of Magnus on the Dragon is hilarious. Who would have thought draining it's magica would result in it dry heaving like a cat!?
7:04 I actually always travel to Kynesgrove with Delphine because if I fast travel, she usually gets stuck somewhere on the way (Usually in Windhelm when you turn down the path to Kynesgrove) and I lose her. If I stay with her, at least I know where she gets stuck and I know how to help her to get her unstuck.
somehow my ai just lose all composure on legendary and end up being stuck on “follow me” command, and they just dont fuckin move 😂

boethia's champ is one of few npc who use the b-word in their dialogue, I suggest you make a video compiling all of them!
I've actually done all of these. Except heal Alduin. That one never even occurred to me. Weird.
Tbh our objective was to murder the black winged lizard not save him so i can see why it didnt occur to us.😂
i honestly didnt even know healing spells could workon dragons. i figured theyd be immune like daedra and automotans
0:51 it looks like the “huh” cat meme every-time he tries to cast dragon breath.
Balgruuf: "Jarl Ulfric proclaims a war against my hold? That has to wait. You'll need to help me with a main quest first."
I got one for you. Just did it. When you read the black book Epistolary Acumen, if you fail to clear the dungeon Neloth has a unique line of dialog.
The Fetus scolding got me rofling
When I first saw this video in my recommendations, I initially wrote it off as another one of those "You (probably) never knew this about Skyrim," videos that are full of stuff that EVERYONE has done before.
I'm glad I still decided to watch it and be proved wrong, there's a lot of cool content I've never seen before, and definitely never did in any of my playthroughs. I think there's only 3 in the whole video that I've done or seen done before. 10/10 video, keep doing what you're doing, and I hope more people come watch and don't write it off the same way I did to begin with. Great work, man.
I actually did go to whiterun as a messenger before meeting Balgruuf on my first play through because I was pretty dumb at 15. So when I left the cave and spoke to Hadvar, he’s like “bro join the legion” so I did that first assuming Skyrim was way more linear than it actually was lmao.

as someone who actually did go whiterun as a messenger, I just wanted to get the dragon plate imperial armor as fast as possible
Imagine being some random messenger and the guy you’re delivering it to is like “Not listening by the way can you kill a literal dragon for me please?”
I loved hunting down words of power! Throughout all the playthroughs until my current, I hadn’t realized Arngeir could direct you to them. In the end though the Arcwind Point Glitch happened 😩 I know it’s easy for some to say “Delete Dawnguard and start over”, but… nah… not after everything! DragonBone Armor, my collection of legendary weapons, Borgakh. But glitches are Skyrim, Skyrim is glitchy! I’ve embraced it! And found all the words of power available to me on my own 😂
That actually is insanely impressive!! I literally always just go ask him, pure laziness. lol

Poor Festus, he’s too old for this shit
Festus having so much trouble with the Dragonborn almost make sense Astrid wanting you dead.
It would be nice to slip netch jelly to the guard in Dragonsreach, he would not die from the fall. Another option in the form of a vampire lord is to grab him, the dragon will release him and he will be attracted to the main character
The guard dies when the dragon lets him go, not because he fell.
Paralysis does not protect against damage and does not make you invulnerable.
Boethiahs Champion actually seems to be a pretty cool guy
The staff of Magnus with the Wabajack staff makes the perfect dragon killer, then a couple of Daedra summons to tank the melee dmg.

"legendary" still has a glitch in it modern players (XB1 generation and up) might wanna check out.
when the "Find Red Eagle's sword" quest is activated, and you get up to the caern in question where he's buried, the adventurer corpse on the ground still has a copy of the book that triggers the quest to begin with...and it can start the whole thing over and over again repeatedly! once you kill red eagle after opening the passage to him, re-read the book on the adventurer, and run back up to "ascent". the briarheart will have rerezzed with everything back in his inventory, including enchanted swords as well as a new copy of Fury. stick that in the weap slot in the caern, and it will drop the "quest item" tag off of Fury, enanbling you to have BOTH versions of red eagle's sword. you can farm enchanted swords AND fury!
I swear that quest is so broken for no reason.
Bro we've had 10 tiny details in skyrim with theepicnate for a decade or so I've got this list beat.
I definetly didn't use the dead thrall spell over and over again so that I'd have a pile of corpses in my basement....
love how in basically every scene your character is just standing there like:
In today's episode of this just happened..
this:
The woman at 7:35 said attacking so weirdly. AH-TAH-KING. Either she’s named the dragon or she’s unlocked a new shout.
"First visit to Whiterun as a messanger" I mean not on the first playthrough but I did focus on the civil war on a different one.
Okay, you almost got me. Besides eating Netch Jelly I haven't done a thing on this list 😄
When I saw the first one I thought I already did this before. I’m glad I’ve watched the rest.
I think it is possible to save the guard by using a wabajack staff on him and turning him into a crab. As far as I know, he will even have unique remarks and words of gratitude for Dova.
I confirm that it is indeed a working way of salvation. But I doubt about the unique replicas...
Skyrim fact i figured out a decade ago. Earn a shout whether its whirlwind or fire breath... earn level 1 and come with atleast 1 shout earned. When u learn shout 2 use shout to unlock and for some reason 3 that wasnt even there appears and is usuable. So start with 1 unlock with 1 extra shout ready to unlock 3. Parthanax and or borri will end up giving u from level 1 to 3 real quick
I did do some of those things! I came to the Graybears with shouts unlocked. Blocked a spell with Spellbreaker. Traveled to Kynesgrove with Delphine.
I'm sure most of us went to Kynesgrove with Delphine in at aleast one of our playthroughs. I'm glad I was curious enough to try and talk to Boethiah's champion using the voice of the emperor. I was pleased to find that there was such an extensive dialogue for an otherwise hostile npc
Damn that dragon acts like the Huh Cat
Best comment ever
these extra interactions in games give me life.
All the ways I tried to save that damned guard, and the answer was so simple! :) Thanks.
I actually have delivered the Civil War message before doing the Dragonstone quest.
Only once though.
I wonder if it is possible to break the plot if you incarnate in the form of a vampire lord during the first visit to Whiterun, the battle with Mirmulnir, the visit to the Greybeards, the battle with Odahviing...
I don't think it'll break the plot but it might temporarily prevent you from doing quests. Depending on your combination of mods or lack thereof, people could aggro at you on sight, you might not have an option to interact with other characters, and you definitely can't shout in vampire lord form. Same goes for the Whiterun Furries.
I'm so proud that i had done the spellbreaker bit before watching this video.
The only way to save that guard from Odahviing is to use the wabbajack to temporarily turn him into a rabbit or a mudcrab.
Even atfer all these years of playing, I never thought to try some of these.
Yes I went to whiterun as a messenger
I did infact visit whiterun as a messenger for the first time. Was so focused on joining the stormcloaks and thought that was the main quest that I did that first.
I’ve seen a fair few of these thanks to ymfah’s videos, but never tried them myself
I actually did heal Alduin once because I was such a high level that I thought it was funny
I have to admit I have done most of these. Not all, but most. Good shyte anyway, like/sub earned.
DUUUUDE THIS IS AMAZING!!!
Great video!
Actually that's a clever way to stop the war forever. Hold the Axe Ulfric give you and never deliver to Balgruuf. Ulfric will forever think Balgruuf kept it so no war. And Balgruuf won't know about the supposed war. 😂😂😂😂.
If you're already a vampire when first meeting Isran, you can get some more unique dialogue. Since the fort isn't fully restored at this point, he doesn't have a way to immediately spot a vampire, and thus he sends you to Dimhollow.
The part with Spellbreaker isn't unique to Spellbreaker. It's more likely a bug, since this often happens to me if I'm already standing in the spot I'm supposed to, ready to cast the ward spell. Moving away and waiting for Tolfdir to instruct me to take up position seems to fix it.
And lastly... How the hell are you able to travel to Kynesgrove with Delphine without slicing your wrists, jumping off a very high cliff or poking a hornets nest? I normally feel like doing that within the first seconds when I first meet her. Aaaargh, I really hate that B**ch!
