What's terrifying is that it's smart enough to stalk people in it's territory. Not outright killing them. Is capable of shapeshifting (it shapeshifted into one of the villagers) and it's sentient enough to act benevolant
i played the witch a long time ago, but if its the leshen from a village in skellige that when we arrive we see someone dead in some tree shit the leshen is there to "help" those people, its said that the leshen receive food from animals, and in other hand the leshen protect them and some type of way, strenghthen them.
Funny thing is theres more than one unseen elder as geralt asks if theyre all like the unseen elder we see and regus says that they vary and their personalities differ but most can be reasoned with but the unseen we meet is extremely introverted and social interactions physically pain him so its kinda cool that theres multiple of those vampires

This and Olgierd were the hardest and most memorable fights of the entire game, and flawless is an understatement xD idk if that was intended but on death march they one shot you even with quen active and the unkillable perk. Basically I had to dodge everything for like 10min and use every tiny window of opportunity to attack.
On Death March almost every time beat the toad prince on the first time.I dont even touch him with the sword only IGNI can do the job for 30-40 seconds :D and if he manage to jump over you if you have QUEN activated you have nothing to worry about.
You forgot the 'Unicorns'. I know they were friendly to Ciri, but they are still considered monsters in the Witcher world. They would be at the top, since they have the same powers as Ciri.
Similar power you mean cause Ciri power at her peak can stop the world from ending. If a unicorn is that powerful people will try to use them instead of waiting for an unknown prophecy.

I disagree with a lot of this list. Putting Dopplers, mostly harmless creatures, and Bullvores, basically intelligent ghouls, on it but not brown, green, white, black dragons, katakans, alps, or any of the (non true) higher vampires, even slyzards, phoenices, wyverns... It's a bit disappointing. Btw, why do you always call the world of the witcher "Neverland"? I don't recall it ever being mentioned. All the time it is simply referred to as "the continent" as far as I remember.

I’d probably put the higher vampire just below the elder. The higher vampires like Detlaff and Regis can’t even be killed by Geralt, only another higher vampire can permanently kill them. I guess if you mutilate them well enough it can take dozens of years if not centuries for them to regenerate making them ‘someone else’s problem’.

Nah, he has all the classical literature references to be consider as the devil. Riddles, knowing it all, granting wishes with loopholes. It’s going of actual lore powers and abilities not in game difficulty, plus Olgierd is a man not a monster, it’s difficult to say who’d win between O’dimm and the unseen elder as we don’t even know what O’dimm is or the full potential of his powers, but being able to stop time probably gives him the advantage.
An honourable mentioned would be the Hym. That quest in Skellige where you had to throw a babe into an oven was insane for a moment… after that killing the Hym isn’t hard but, imagine the physiological toll it has on someone before during and after killing it for their victims.
don't know what's the deal with the toad price, found him not that challenging. Finished the game on norm dif 1st time and NG+ on max dif, I had no issues with him. the mage fight after that was challenging for me. and i had to lower difficulty during the Ciri fighting parts later on. I just could not do it in NG+ at max dif.
you played on normal and also played the game probably after 20 patches. As someone that played the DLC when it came out cause I had the entire game bought, the toad was the first time I actually died 10 times or more. They went "shit souls" style in the DLCs and made the fights ridiculously strong while the Wild Hunt was like a small fight in comparison which is why they didn't make the list maybe or because they are elves and not monsters.
True Higher Vampires are arguably the single most terrifying thing in the setting and have a considerably more impressive list of things we know they can do. Very silly to think it would be cut and dry for a Gold Dragon.
Imo, a lot of people underestimate slyzards. Sure, they are not as powerful as (actual) dragons, but they are easily the strongest draconoid-type monster in the game. Also, canonically, their tail whip attack is so fast that it's impossible to dodge or parry, as attested by how Letho of Gulet was defeated by this exact same attack (and Letho is easily among the most skilled witchers). To top it off, slyzards can also breathe fire
If I had to pick a single monster that's the most powerful it would have to be The Elder vampire from Blood and Wine. Higher Vampires are a whole are insanely powerful. I mean just look at Regis. Fairly weak for a Higher Vampire and yet he survived being melted into a bloody puddle and yet he survived. Sure it would have taken hundreds of not thousands of years for him to regenerate if not for outside aid and even then it took him a couple years to even regain any form of awareness and even longer to regain his body. But The Elder is on a whole different level. The way he was able to blitz Gerald before he even knew what was about to happen is honestly one of the most horror movie moments in all of the games.
Honestly I agree with most of the list, I would only remove Dopplers, Djinns and the number 20 from the list, since a) doppler isnt a powerful monster, the number 20 on the list can defeat him and b) I font consider djinn to be a monster. I was expecting those three to be replaced with Gernichora, who has enslaved an entire village, Viy who destroyed Maribor by himself and killed witchers and Svalbold, who is whorshiped in skelige isles as a god and is extremly powerfull
List kinda lame, just mash some monsters you remembered on top of your head for this one except for the top 3. Menticores, slyzards, ice giants, other dragons, freaking Viy and many more would look a bit more threatening then dopplers or a fiend or arch griffin…
It's unclear how old vesemir is when he dies but from the start of the books Witchers have existed for about 300 years and Geralt is in his 50's by then Vesemir is said to be really old even to Geralt so roughly estimating he's probably anywhere between 150-200 during the books and at that time he's past his prime. Nothing to scoff at but Geralt could probably beat him in a 1v1 only swords

Depends on how far in his 50's he was. Vesemir can't be 300 because the Witchers were created in the 900's which is right around 300 years from when the games take place and vesemir was definitely not among the first Witchers because he was trained by Barmin, a Witcher with presumably enough experience to train the next gen because the first gen was trained by knights. Barmin might've been with the first gen idk you don't get much info on him

At the start of the main story, in the inn of Blanchefleure, when speaking with Vesemir, he makes it clear that Geralt is approaching 100 years of age. Vesemir is rumoured to be in his 300, because in the Witchers 3, we are in 1272. It's almost 400 years later ! :) But it's unlikely, and you are right about Barmin. With more research, I found more precise information : - Yennefer was born in 1173 and is therefore 99 years old in Witcher 3, which takes place in 1272. - Geralt can be between 70 and 106. - Triss would be around 50. - Vesemir would be between 130 and 150. The author never was precise about theirs ages.

No Red Miasmal? It literally was a powerful scepter made of pain and suffering. The dying and diseased locked away literally trying to claw their way out. Its was a undisclosed amount of deaths but you see hundreds of bodies down there. NOT TO MENTION. Its the only thing strong enough to possess a witcher. I MEAN completely. It was so powerful even the entry in the book says the best course of action was too lock it away in hopes no ever finds it ever.

Hihger vampires (including Unseen Elder), dopplers, jinns and devil don't belong in monster category. If you added them, you may as well addded some malvolent kings, magicans (Vilgefortz, anyone) and maybe even witchers (Leto contributed greatly to starting war). Monster is a non-fully (or not at all) sentient being that is dangerous to humans. Sentient, cross dragons off the list as well.
The List is mostly solid but I don't understand the insanely high rank od Dopplers. Most of these are creatures of Legends who are far beyond Human comprehension and Immortal like Hym. Having dopplers rank above them is misplaced. I see why Dopplers can be insanely powerful and dangerous and could even make whole societies collapse but at the end of the day they are not on the same lvl of Untouchableness as Hym and others. They could be killed by normal people if they slip up and are also not even that rare. In Witcher 3 we see multiple dopplers struggle terribly with normal people, one getting executed by normal guards and another being hunted down. They are dangerous but don't belong on this List, or at least a but lower ranked.
It 's a boss from a mod called "Wiedźmikołaj". I don't know if it has english title. But Diabolo is completely made up and should not be on that list. It uses Act 4 boss Dagon model
Gounter is a being similar to djinn, a demon. Demons and djinns work nearly the same. The only difference is how to seal them. To seal the djinn you need to beat him, while to seal a demon you have to summon them corectly and seal them with their name. If djinn is let lose he just escapes, but if demon is let lose then well... you better kill yourself, it will be easier. Demons are sealed by their name, thats the reason o dimm kills and haunts anyone who knows or tries to discover it. He most likely is demon whom sealing process was f up, and he was free. And whats the demons favorite food? Souls of course. We see that with "him" in cerys questline, or caretaker during his fight.
In tw3 i found the Toad the most annoying and the 3 swamp witches in the Ciri fight as well 😢 And in tw2 the Akiran was a hard nut to crack 😢, didn't play the 1

I'll never forget how my jaw dropped when the elder vampire drank and tossed Geralt aside like he was an insignificant insect.
Witchers can't usually handle a normal higher vapire, so that was kind of expected, but still this scene was epic.

There was a potion that made poison heal you instead of hurt, crazy helpful for that fight.

you played on normal and also played the game probably after 20 patches. As someone that played the DLC when it came out cause I had the entire game bought, the toad was the first time I actually died 10 times or more. They went "shit souls" style in the DLCs and made the fights ridiculously strong while the Wild Hunt was like a small fight in comparison which is why they didn't make the list maybe or because they are elves and not monsters.

Imo, a lot of people underestimate slyzards. Sure, they are not as powerful as (actual) dragons, but they are easily the strongest draconoid-type monster in the game.
Also, canonically, their tail whip attack is so fast that it's impossible to dodge or parry, as attested by how Letho of Gulet was defeated by this exact same attack (and Letho is easily among the most skilled witchers). To top it off, slyzards can also breathe fire
Gaunter is a devil, not a demon. There's an important difference there. The nature of its essence and what it does, is not the same.

If I had to pick a single monster that's the most powerful it would have to be The Elder vampire from Blood and Wine. Higher Vampires are a whole are insanely powerful. I mean just look at Regis. Fairly weak for a Higher Vampire and yet he survived being melted into a bloody puddle and yet he survived. Sure it would have taken hundreds of not thousands of years for him to regenerate if not for outside aid and even then it took him a couple years to even regain any form of awareness and even longer to regain his body. But The Elder is on a whole different level. The way he was able to blitz Gerald before he even knew what was about to happen is honestly one of the most horror movie moments in all of the games.

Honestly I agree with most of the list, I would only remove Dopplers, Djinns and the number 20 from the list, since a) doppler isnt a powerful monster, the number 20 on the list can defeat him and b) I font consider djinn to be a monster. I was expecting those three to be replaced with Gernichora, who has enslaved an entire village, Viy who destroyed Maribor by himself and killed witchers and Svalbold, who is whorshiped in skelige isles as a god and is extremly powerfull

It's unclear how old vesemir is when he dies but from the start of the books Witchers have existed for about 300 years and Geralt is in his 50's by then
Vesemir is said to be really old even to Geralt so roughly estimating he's probably anywhere between 150-200 during the books and at that time he's past his prime. Nothing to scoff at but Geralt could probably beat him in a 1v1 only swords
@@michael6880 From what I've understood, there is speculation about Vesemir being around 300, and Geralt is clearly not 50-ish, but more like 90-ish/110 depending on the events.
@@Thanhatos Geralt specifically mentioned to be in his 50's in the early books when ciri is 12-13 so Geralt is just about 60 or pushing 70 in tw3 where ciri is 21. Depends on how far in his 50's he was.
Vesemir can't be 300 because the Witchers were created in the 900's which is right around 300 years from when the games take place and vesemir was definitely not among the first Witchers because he was trained by Barmin, a Witcher with presumably enough experience to train the next gen because the first gen was trained by knights. Barmin might've been with the first gen idk you don't get much info on him

Which led us to think his birth was around 1170-ish.
At the start of the main story, in the inn of Blanchefleure, when speaking with Vesemir, he makes it clear that Geralt is approaching 100 years of age.
Vesemir is rumoured to be in his 300, because in the Witchers 3, we are in 1272. It's almost 400 years later ! :) But it's unlikely, and you are right about Barmin.
With more research, I found more precise information :
- Yennefer was born in 1173 and is therefore 99 years old in Witcher 3, which takes place in 1272.
- Geralt can be between 70 and 106.
- Triss would be around 50.
- Vesemir would be between 130 and 150.
The author never was precise about theirs ages.
I have not played the Witcher 2, but i was told once that this so called Operator was very tough.

No Red Miasmal? It literally was a powerful scepter made of pain and suffering. The dying and diseased locked away literally trying to claw their way out. Its was a undisclosed amount of deaths but you see hundreds of bodies down there. NOT TO MENTION. Its the only thing strong enough to possess a witcher. I MEAN completely. It was so powerful even the entry in the book says the best course of action was too lock it away in hopes no ever finds it ever.

Hihger vampires (including Unseen Elder), dopplers, jinns and devil don't belong in monster category.
If you added them, you may as well addded some malvolent kings, magicans (Vilgefortz, anyone) and maybe even witchers (Leto contributed greatly to starting war).
Monster is a non-fully (or not at all) sentient being that is dangerous to humans. Sentient, cross dragons off the list as well.

The List is mostly solid but I don't understand the insanely high rank od Dopplers.
Most of these are creatures of Legends who are far beyond Human comprehension and Immortal like Hym.
Having dopplers rank above them is misplaced. I see why Dopplers can be insanely powerful and dangerous and could even make whole societies collapse but at the end of the day they are not on the same lvl of Untouchableness as Hym and others.
They could be killed by normal people if they slip up and are also not even that rare. In Witcher 3 we see multiple dopplers struggle terribly with normal people, one getting executed by normal guards and another being hunted down.
They are dangerous but don't belong on this List, or at least a but lower ranked.

Gounter is a being similar to djinn, a demon. Demons and djinns work nearly the same. The only difference is how to seal them. To seal the djinn you need to beat him, while to seal a demon you have to summon them corectly and seal them with their name. If djinn is let lose he just escapes, but if demon is let lose then well... you better kill yourself, it will be easier. Demons are sealed by their name, thats the reason o dimm kills and haunts anyone who knows or tries to discover it. He most likely is demon whom sealing process was f up, and he was free. And whats the demons favorite food? Souls of course. We see that with "him" in cerys questline, or caretaker during his fight.
