Who is the most powerful monster in the world of The Witcher?
Pack of wolves
Watch your video to find out.
Whats about the Wij?
Gravity, when you fall from over 2 feet..
Where's Kayran? It's biggest to say.
I'll never forget how my jaw dropped when the elder vampire drank and tossed Geralt aside like he was an insignificant insect.
Witchers can't usually handle a normal higher vapire, so that was kind of expected, but still this scene was epic.
@niktniewiem4785 No witchers in history have ever be powerful enough to fight one?
not. even. close! Even Geralt recognizes the extreme danger higher vampires possess. they can only be killed by one of their own kind, and to do so is anathema to their race.@@ClearHD
I like the concept of some creatures just being too much for Geralt. He may be superhuman but only slightly, he’s no god amongst men.
@@ClearHDLet me hit you with another question; Do you fucking know what "usually" means?
I like how Higher Vampires are literally just very powerful aliens.
Technically, they are, beacause they came from another world and they couldn't and can't leave.
@@meanpersona4686 I know.
That's why I said it.
Technically all witcher monsters are just aliens because they come from different planets in different universes
@meanpersona4686 i love that you get called out for being a complete npc
@@user-op6kt8pg9yeven humans are aliens as the came from another world
I love that you encounter Gaunter in the very beginning of the game and you don’t even realize the significance of his character until you get into Hearts of Stone. Even then, it has most likely slipped your mind that you’ve already met Master Mirror because his character at the time was seemingly insignificant.
Right, so much so that my first play through when you meet him again at the start of hearts of stone and hes like "remember me in white orchard" i paused and spwnt a good 5 minutes trying to genuinely remember where id met him in white orchard especially because the name sounded familiar, hes so good at just being another npc at the start of the story you literally remove him from all memory, its cool how on replays when you finish talking to him amd he leaves you can notice that he walks towards the door but it never actually opens, he just vanishes
I'm new to the game, finished the main story, and slowly realizing it. Nutshell: I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME ❤
Gaunter is not just any demon, he is the devil in the witcher universe. All hints in the witcher 3 game are leading to this conclusion.
Or he’s the god, like his initials would suggest. Not a merciful one but a god nonetheless
@@maxho2264 Yeah, a valid theory, he even could be both at the same time.
Not just the devil in the witcher universe, THE DEVIL of the multiverse, he curses Geralt in a dialect of a very old christian language, suggesting that he is the actual biblical Devil.
The devil is the opposite of god and many cultures believe that the two are one entity hence the famous first letters of gaunters full name
@@o0TraceuR0o so it is one being with schizophrenia.
And yet the worse monster is called Netflix. So good that we have Alzur's Legacy for free on YT
You should’ve added the Woodland Spirit in The Witcher 3, he was an old and powerful leshen that was worshipped as a god by the people of the nearby village
What's terrifying is that it's smart enough to stalk people in it's territory. Not outright killing them. Is capable of shapeshifting (it shapeshifted into one of the villagers) and it's sentient enough to act benevolant
i played the witch a long time ago, but if its the leshen from a village in skellige that when we arrive we see someone dead in some tree shit the leshen is there to "help" those people, its said that the leshen receive food from animals, and in other hand the leshen protect them and some type of way, strenghthen them.
Probably my favourite contract
I wrapped him up in 7 seconds
@@shahbaz6741 yea i one shotted him lmfao
Unseen elder is strong because he is made to be invincible, but the biggest fcker is the Foglet
Bro really sneaked Doppler in there😭
You forgot the 'Unicorns'. I know they were friendly to Ciri, but they are still considered monsters in the Witcher world. They would be at the top, since they have the same powers as Ciri.
Similar power you mean cause Ciri power at her peak can stop the world from ending. If a unicorn is that powerful people will try to use them instead of waiting for an unknown prophecy.
Honestly I agree with most of the list, I would only remove Dopplers, Djinns and the number 20 from the list, since a) doppler isnt a powerful monster, the number 20 on the list can defeat him and b) I font consider djinn to be a monster. I was expecting those three to be replaced with Gernichora, who has enslaved an entire village, Viy who destroyed Maribor by himself and killed witchers and Svalbold, who is whorshiped in skelige isles as a god and is extremly powerfull
Power is subjective. If they impersonate the right person, like an important military officer or head of state, Dopplers can essentially have an army at their command. That’s more powerful than almost any individual monster.
@@TecnoTylerHit the nail right on the head friend!
Djinns are extremely powerful
In the books, Dopplers aren't shown to be malevolent. In the series they are but it seems like a different type of creature.
Just simply their very existence among humans is a threat unable to be lived with, they can literally do anything or be anyone, truth becomes fogged
I believe in the show they try to say that specific one is like a serial killer of the Doppler world
@@jakelarson8305the show is just shit anyway
for me the caretaker is always the hardest thing to kill because I keep forgetting the way to kill it. So it usually takes me a few tries
I had no issues w the caretaker, tapped him 3 times w my sword, then sustained igni to finish him g🤙
I liked most of this list but i dont think dopplers should have made it on here.
idk if anyone else feels the same but when HOS dropped Toad Prince was kicking the shit outta me over and over. I play on Death March, but that thing was one shotting me when he’d jump i had to be flawless to beat him
🤣 fuck that toad I think it took me at least 10 times to beat it
@@t-god243910 times are rookie numbers, 15 year old me spend at least 10 HOURS trying to beat him.
Yeah I know Git Gud lol.
This and Olgierd were the hardest and most memorable fights of the entire game, and flawless is an understatement xD idk if that was intended but on death march they one shot you even with quen active and the unkillable perk. Basically I had to dodge everything for like 10min and use every tiny window of opportunity to attack.
On Death March almost every time beat the toad prince on the first time.I dont even touch him with the sword only IGNI can do the job for 30-40 seconds :D and if he manage to jump over you if you have QUEN activated you have nothing to worry about.
There was a potion that made poison heal you instead of hurt, crazy helpful for that fight.
And yet they forgot to add the most powerfull creature in The Witcher "Dandelion" and you might think isnt he just a human? Yes maybe but he has the Power of Luck making even Gaunter O'Dimm shake in his Mirror
great video, very interesting and engaging storytelling ⚔️🔥
I disagree with a lot of this list. Putting Dopplers, mostly harmless creatures, and Bullvores, basically intelligent ghouls, on it but not brown, green, white, black dragons, katakans, alps, or any of the (non true) higher vampires, even slyzards, phoenices, wyverns... It's a bit disappointing.
Btw, why do you always call the world of the witcher "Neverland"? I don't recall it ever being mentioned. All the time it is simply referred to as "the continent" as far as I remember.
Thank you for being attentive enough to point out a mention of the N-land name 😅
We tried to clear that from the audio but it looks like one or two slips did make it…
Just so you know, Pan Sapkowski said that name in one of the interviews. There’s even a post in the community on that. 🙌🏼
Can you please give the time code for that word in this video right here?
@@OldWitcher I see. Pan Sapkowski is another name for the author? The word is at around 14:50, I think it's the only occurence in this video.

I love the Witcher world. And the monsters are very interesting combination of slavic myths and fantazies of the Writer. :-)
Very nice 👌 👍 👏
Saw the kayran in the beginning and got him with nostalgia
17:34 in these denim pockets, on my waist there’s a silver sword.
Idk why but I fell asleep watching this video twice even though I wanted to finish it.
I'd put one or two sorcerers and sorceresses on that list too...
Is it just me or according to this video Geralt of rivea is like the only Witcher that can do anything much less to these villains
naw it's just Geralt is the main character and therefore we only see him kill monsters lol. Other Witchers are more than capable of killing them
Geralt is actually significantly stronger than the average Witcher and possibly the strongest of all.
Would like to see Gaunter meet the Unseen One.
You should do one of these for elder scrolls and d&d
Changeling/Dopplegangers are still ontop of my list
They aren't even monsters.
List kinda lame, just mash some monsters you remembered on top of your head for this one except for the top 3.
Menticores, slyzards, ice giants, other dragons, freaking Viy and many more would look a bit more threatening then dopplers or a fiend or arch griffin…
Viy would be my second after Gaunter.
Number 1 if we do actual MONSTER monsters.
don't know what's the deal with the toad price, found him not that challenging. Finished the game on norm dif 1st time and NG+ on max dif, I had no issues with him. the mage fight after that was challenging for me. and i had to lower difficulty during the Ciri fighting parts later on. I just could not do it in NG+ at max dif.
Superior golden oriole makes the fight so much easier
you played on normal and also played the game probably after 20 patches. As someone that played the DLC when it came out cause I had the entire game bought, the toad was the first time I actually died 10 times or more. They went "shit souls" style in the DLCs and made the fights ridiculously strong while the Wild Hunt was like a small fight in comparison which is why they didn't make the list maybe or because they are elves and not monsters.
@@KpK1Cioby wild hunt have nothing to do with the list.
@@KpK1CiobyI forget that vampires name but his boss fight yeah fuck that took me lol 20x to beat him
I’m surprised Dopplers made the list and not leshens
Gaunter isn’t a traditional God but has powers associated with one, more like Demi-Deity.
Gaunter is in concept the actual Devil of the Witcher world, you can't even speak its name without there being consequence
He is literally a representation of god or the devil itself in the witcher 3. It´s pretty damn obvious, there are a lot of hints of this in the dialogue... even his fucking name, dude.
@@ImNotLuthien
I can prove you he's not, to me, he's more like a demon or a unknown cosmic entity.
Nah, he has all the classical literature references to be consider as the devil. Riddles, knowing it all, granting wishes with loopholes. In every medieval poem or story that´s always how the devil is represented. You can see cosmic references on the witcher 3 like when you go with avallac to other planets and its nothing like that. Gaunter is literally every medieval story stereotype of the devil. @@quentinhirschfeld9382
If you read medieval literature or poetry you can see every stereotype of the devil at that time, putting into Gaunter. You can see "cosmic" lief in the witcher, whatever the hell that means, and its not anything like gaunter at all.@@quentinhirschfeld9382
Is Olgierd not considered a monster? I mean he is immortal. And damn in game he is insane with deathmarch.. and unseen elder is definitely the strongest. Fighting a hiher vampire is already hard with their hybrid form, and without potion and some bombs, man, its really hard
It’s going of actual lore powers and abilities not in game difficulty, plus Olgierd is a man not a monster, it’s difficult to say who’d win between O’dimm and the unseen elder as we don’t even know what O’dimm is or the full potential of his powers, but being able to stop time probably gives him the advantage.
@@lucasbelmonte2832it's not that difficult. O'Dimm stomps.

what about the other dragons, they 'd be all in top 10 and there's various types. also the manticore!
I always wonder why CDPR put the boss fight (Golyat) at the beginning of Blood and Wine until I find out that he can be one-shotted with an arrow to his eye lmao
I have not played the Witcher 2, but i was told once that this so called Operator was very tough.
Doppler are not aggressive the most they’ll do is defend themselves without killing and steal
I´m supriced there isent a Leshen on this list. It wouldent break into the top 5 but top 20 for sure.
old witcher I have a question for you and thats how long dose a witcher live for is it similar to a elf?
No witcher has been recorded to die of old age so far. Plus they are not subject to natural and regular diseases.
It's unclear how old vesemir is when he dies but from the start of the books Witchers have existed for about 300 years and Geralt is in his 50's by then
Vesemir is said to be really old even to Geralt so roughly estimating he's probably anywhere between 150-200 during the books and at that time he's past his prime. Nothing to scoff at but Geralt could probably beat him in a 1v1 only swords
@@michael6880 From what I've understood, there is speculation about Vesemir being around 300, and Geralt is clearly not 50-ish, but more like 90-ish/110 depending on the events.
@@Thanhatos Geralt specifically mentioned to be in his 50's in the early books when ciri is 12-13 so Geralt is just about 60 or pushing 70 in tw3 where ciri is 21. Depends on how far in his 50's he was.
Vesemir can't be 300 because the Witchers were created in the 900's which is right around 300 years from when the games take place and vesemir was definitely not among the first Witchers because he was trained by Barmin, a Witcher with presumably enough experience to train the next gen because the first gen was trained by knights. Barmin might've been with the first gen idk you don't get much info on him
@@michael6880 My sources are not saying that.
Early in the game Witchers 3, it is said he is "a little under one hundred years".
Which led us to think his birth was around 1170-ish.
At the start of the main story, in the inn of Blanchefleure, when speaking with Vesemir, he makes it clear that Geralt is approaching 100 years of age.
Vesemir is rumoured to be in his 300, because in the Witchers 3, we are in 1272. It's almost 400 years later ! :) But it's unlikely, and you are right about Barmin.
With more research, I found more precise information :
- Yennefer was born in 1173 and is therefore 99 years old in Witcher 3, which takes place in 1272.
- Geralt can be between 70 and 106.
- Triss would be around 50.
- Vesemir would be between 130 and 150.
The author never was precise about theirs ages.
I killed the caretaker with ease but I fought the oggdo boggdo looking prince before I had done much with alchemy (no golden oriole or northern wind)
yeah I'm pretty sure the golden dragon would cause all of the higher vampires to be a pile of goo healing for rest of eternity lmao
True Higher Vampires are arguably the single most terrifying thing in the setting and have a considerably more impressive list of things we know they can do.
Very silly to think it would be cut and dry for a Gold Dragon.
@@Michael-bn1oi remember what vilgefortz did to regis? yeah I'm pretty sure the dragon can burn harder than that.

Gaunter = The Devil
Toad Prince is #1 just because of how damn hard that fight is 🤣🤣🤣
Goliath😂
I oneshot him with crossbow in Witcher 3
Hence concluded that Geralt is on the top🤣
When and how does Diabolo show up in Witcher 1? I dont think I ever seen him
Neither did I. It’s probably a mod.
Its a side quest.
You didnt put humans?
A Djinnerator. ba-dum-tss.
Yeah, they didn’t even give you a way to beat the elder.
Gaunter is a devil, not a demon. There's an important difference there. The nature of its essence and what it does, is not the same.
Nobody remember the Viy Of Maribor 😞, he kill Alzur and destroy the half of Maribor
Where is Svalblod?
I probably would take out dopplers and bullvores for Svalblod and the red miasma
Ahem, might I ask for the source of the Crones pic ?
Gaunter O Dim aka GOD
What about the monster that comes when you kill enough cows? (Easter egg)
He's only difficult if you're level 6.
Somehow Skellige white wolf is more danger to me than any monster.
In the world of the witch I just don’t understand how they made golden dragons an endangered species lore wiser imo they are just to strong for humans to deal with
They aren't too strong to deal with. Magic and technology have more than leveled the playing field. Numbers makes up for the rest.
There wasnt that many to begin with.
Thats the usual nerf the dragons get in fantasy. Low population numbers.
Dopplers lol! It says in the books & games they are good natured & impersonate to survive, not kill or cause pain/conflict - very weird choice
But if they wanted to they could impersonate emhyr himself and habe control of a whole Kingdom and army
Gaunter O'Dimm's initials tell me everything I need to know about him...
He's not G.O.D. mate, if he was, he could travel anywhere and know everything and it's not the case.
If you ask him about Ciri, he would tell you that she is being his reach and his gaze, he also would say that there are things that even him cannot do.
On top of this, he explains that he needs 'associates' in order to use his powers.

Only a higher vampire can kill another higher vampire. 👍
Dopplers are not monsters, they are just different race, sentient and civilized with ability to shapeshift.
Depends if you define monsters by their personalities or by the fact that they're not humans, elves, gnomes or dwarves
@@whyonthefall5373 No, there are hard definitions used by Witchers in the setting. OP laid it out clearly.
Dragons too
No Red Miasmal? It literally was a powerful scepter made of pain and suffering. The dying and diseased locked away literally trying to claw their way out. Its was a undisclosed amount of deaths but you see hundreds of bodies down there. NOT TO MENTION. Its the only thing strong enough to possess a witcher. I MEAN completely. It was so powerful even the entry in the book says the best course of action was too lock it away in hopes no ever finds it ever.
Doppler's aren't monsters though they are just none humans, calling then monsters is like calling elves monsters
Where is the manticore?
My greatest gaming moment ever is killing the Griffin in Witcher 3. Everytime I go and fight him he'd kill me until he didn't
DEATH BY FIEND
Surely if you wished for a power from a djinn to defeat say the top 3 monsters it would make djinn number one
What Doppler not evil they nice dudes they do some pranks
I wouldn't consider a doppler a powerful monster, they're peaceful by nature, and are poor fighters generally.
Djin is way too high on the list, doppler really?
Djinn is NOT to high on the list. Just the fact that they can only be controlled by the absolute peak of the most powerful mages and can curse people with a terminating disease on a whim, is proof enough. Elemental control is also something that is extremely high-tier stuff in The Witcher. If a powerful Djinn decides to wreck a village in an instant, he can do so and do so by not even touching it physically. That's the mean part.
The djin on death march mode is one of the hardest fights in the game.
Djinn should honestly be number 2. Sure unseen elder is the best ohysically beyond comparison, but djins can do ANYTHING, literally bend reality to their will. Thats guanter o dim god level stuff right there.
Almost all the really strong Monsters dosent show up in the Games.
Some do have a Cameo in the Games but a lot weaker then they should have been..
The only one i bet its closer to the real deal its the Vampire Supreme in Blood and Wine.
Even the Wield Hunt are weaker in the games then they are in the Books.
Just for Exemple The Dragons in the Witcher Lore..
(they dont slay then becouse they are sentiente but the real reason its becouse they are Like a Atomic Bomb to fight against.. haha)
The only Dude that ever Slay one was the Legendary Witcher from the Griffin Shcoll just Forget his Name..
But the dude its Like the Apex Witcher the best there is.. haha

Tbh I'd change 1 and 2. I think the Unseen Elder is more dangerous than Gaunter
Well the thing is elder is more out to get you and straight to the point. Basicly if they want you dead, your dead. Just that the elder always does and theres a small, small chance that gaunter does it.
@@dirge44 exactly. Also, the Elder is the only monster or villain that Geralt doesn't kill in the game. He kills Gaunter but doesn't stand a chance against the Elder

I know everyone says Gaunter is the devil, but honesty I think a closer comparison would be with Nyarlathotep. He fits the description to a T, even including wearing yellow
The monsters of the witcher aren't really all that original. 90% of them are from folk lore from Poland and the surrounding areas. But Andrzej Sapkows managed to bring them to life. Then CDPR took those and more and brought them to life in the games.
I won't even talk about the show cause the writers have absolutely no idea or imagination when it comes to the witcher universe
The Witcher 3 is debatable the best rpg of all time but the boss fights are booty. I hope the new title have souls boss fights experience

Bruh. Gaunter seems to be the ultimate Power. This in either evil or neutral way. When He stopped time, he didnt just Stop it for one, no, He stopped it for everyone, except himself and the one he wanted to witness, geralt.
@@albinokanickel4492 You clearly don't understand how fictional powerscaling works lol. Geralt was able to outsmart Gaunter but he couldnt do anything against the Unseen. Even if he could harm the Unseen physically he could never kill him. Same goes for Gaunter he outsmarted him but its obviously implied that Gaunter just lost his current physical form. So the question would be how are they supposed to kill each other. To make Gaunters magic somewhat make sense we could say he can use it on beings with weaker willpower. So once again this wouldnt work on the Unseen as hes an ancient being with godlike powers. The Unseen on the other hand can easily destroy Gaunters physical form but just as Geralt for an indefinite amount of time. I would even argue that the Unseen has the advantage as he would see through Gaunters worldplays and tricks on the spot and would never get his mind played. But again what reason would they even have to fight each other. The Unseen has no interest in any conflict at all and there is nothing to gain for Gaunter from the Unseen.
