i'm really hoping Armored Core 6 revitalizes the mecha genre for games and we start getting good Gundam games again always wished i could've played the unicorn game

It already has. Especially with it being number 3 on Steam.
There's also Megaton Musashi and Synduality coming later this year. To say nothing about that RPG that was announced last year.
We've got a good year this year. Probably even better than 2021.
While it's pretty barebone and a strategy game instead of action combat, I still enjoy Phantom Brigade from time to time if someone knows that (indie game that exited early access this year)
I honestly feel like with Gundam, the problem is always Bamco itself not capitlizing on the IP
@@zjuraeventide8949 This happens way too often. Gundam Evolution could have been kept alive if they let a couple of the fans/players maintain the game. It's what MWO did.
Remember when mech knights were all the rage in the 90s-00s. Yeah From Software tried something different then Armored Core with a little game on the Dreamcast called Frame Gride. It was the closest we got to an Escaflowne game (well maybe they made an Escaflowne game in japan that I never heard of..). It was pretty damn good.

They did, in fact, make an Escaflowne game for the PS1 in Japan. The special edition came with a reproduction Major Arcana deck from the set Hitomi used in the show. I may have mine sitting on my workbench next to me.

Check out this game called R.A.D on PS..2? I think. The game itself was cool, but the controls on how to move the mech suits itself was way ahead of its time even to this day in my opinion
Given their low stall speed and high roll rate, WW1 fighter planes are actually very highly maneuverable.
The P-38 Lightning would be a more accurate comparison, given it was never designed to dogfight in the conventional sense (that is, playing the Turning Game with the Fw-190s and other Axis planes).

They already had a lot of practice with the Another Century's Episode games on the PS2 and PS3. The last one even had Nineball.

I really wish we had an englush version of ACE, the one with Shin Getter. And if course Scramble Commander.
We should have been able to play as nine-ball Seraph in other missions rather than just that one, but A.C.E. R was ultimately meant as a prototype game for different mechanics to be tested for future games that would come out so apparently it wasn't fully hashed out as it could have been in story or gameplay. Really wish they would come out with another A.C.E. game though, and do nine ball right this time

This game is basically Another Century Episode but just with Gundam Unicorn mobile suits and characters.
They made Another Century Episode games for PS2 and PSP long before that, and those games had Gundams as well

Anyone else find it strange when mechas have "breathing" animation movements when still?
My all time favorite Gundam game alongside encounters in space, the space combat system and the cutscenes like beam saber clashes and the booster animations when the suits reorienting themselves are just *chefs kiss*
My favorite game, have bought the physical edition back in the day and after my ps3 got damage I sell all my physical games, except that one.

The amount of PS3 Gundam games is staggering, Side Stories is probably the one that gets most coverage, despite the unfortunate lower budget there, though the one that I'm always curious about is Battlefield Record, was that any good?
Battlefield Record is pretty good! That is also where 7th G and G-line come from.
From what I can remember from playing it that there is the story mode then a free mission mode where you can use mobile suits that you can buy. There is also a zeon story but the federation one is obviously the canon story.
i think there's only 3 if you don't count the crossover games. the rest (sd gundam)are on other systems now i believe
@@kidrobot. Let's see, there is Extreme Vs, Extreme Vs. Full Boost, Battlefield Record, Unicorn, Side Stories, Battle Operation 1, Dynasty Warriors 1,2,3, the SD ones, Breaker 1, 2 and Next, and finally, everyone's beloved CrossFire.
Yeah there is less than I remembered, I think the PS2 has double that.

I actually unironically liked Crossfire on Ps3 for it's clunky mecha feel... until i found out about battle operations that had that and more to offer.
So this is the game that Armored Core V managed to overshadow

I have this game. Enjoyed it but was disappointed that they didnt make a part two based on the events after landing on Earth. This plays alot like the Another Century Episode series on the ps2. Even the inverted horizontal camera scheme where the same.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is the only Gundam game that I actually enjoyed playing.
There is also the Extreme Vs games. Next Plus especially is still a great game to this day.
I never really paid attention to this game, so this was a nice video to watch while AC6 installs. Good luck on Rubicon!

Got the special edition with prequel novel and bought all of the add on content. Sinanju's rifle with grenade launcher is great.
First and obviously foremost, you got Klonoa for ps1?!!!! Lucky!!!!!! Anyways, From Software did not only gundam unicorn, but they did a crossover mech game called *ANOTHER CENTURY'S EPISODE* from the ps2 days to the psp. Considering that Armored Core is their flagship series other than soulsborne, they know when to make awesome mech games!!!
the most notable thing about the game is the appearance of the Delta Kai, i guess they threw it in to promote the manga

Fromsoft titles for some of them end up kind of being obscure or lost to the ages. Lot of this kind of reminds me of the Journey to Jabro game or Zonic Front games a little.

Bought this in japan back when it came out. It really tripped me out how deep the gameplay gets in some aspects. Like the interaction with ship while in mobile suits. Only problem was id literally been in Japan for a few months so i couldn't understand wth i was doing in that game. It was a good attempt though 😂
I think gundam vs zeta gundam was the same way in its campaign, from individual character perspectives

Did you know? This game (Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn) was came out in same year as Armored Core V which is another game made by FromSoftware.

Gundam 0081 for ps3 is one of the best Gundam games ever. It has an original story set in 0081 about a crew of ESFS pilots cleabing up Zeon remnants. You can play both sides, complete with animated cutscenes. Then you can go into a mission mode, where you can play as Either side, or a merc who has access to all suits and weapons. Theres a ton of customization and parts, and it used to have a great online mode.
This really makes me want to get another copy of Zeonic Front. I still have Journey to Jaburo and Federation vs Zeon but somehow lost my favorite.
They also were involved in Another Century Episode, which was a mecha crossover game, ace2 and 3 were the best highlights of the franchise.

Hi I had a question are the GN drives from 00 the best power source for a Gundam or mobile suit if not why is that?
I love this game. I actually bought it for my ps3 back in the day since the ps3 has no region lock. I just hated how the Char's counter attack Sazabi fight was DLC so I can't play it since I couldn't figure out how to buy stuff from the japanese playstation online store. The other negative is this game came out when Unicorn wasn't even a completed series so the final boss is like barely halfway through the series and they never released a second game. One of the coolest Gundam games you can get on the ps3 other than Breaker.
Ironic that thiis video drops on the same day that some people are playing AC6 AND that is devloped by the same group AND that you have some AC games.............HMMMMMMMMM. All joking aside, this game does look rather fun and if it did get a sequel then I would play it. Great job in bringing this game to my attention Kakarot and now watch, some people will try and make a Unicorn AC in 6 right now lol. Anyway soild job!
they werent allowed to put a lot of the anime in game but its based on the anime story lol
it would made sense if the story was different or altered, but then again there are many character perspective so yeah the anime part of those more likely to not have existed XD
Didn't know this existed because we kinda got used to how all the licensed games, especially the 3D ones, are 5/10 or 6/10 at best and aren't worth checking out. I mainly focus on SRW and SD Generation games for my mecha itch but as a big From fan I have to check this out. Wonder how good it will run on steam deck :3

It's part of my collection. The mission select is really confusing and a ton is locked behind dlc

You know what would be perfect? A passionate developer, maybe like From Software developing a Gundam game with an original story or setting. Like not an adaptation of an existing show, but its own story, with its own Mobile Suits - or an independent story in an existing universe, where the developer would have the freedom to craft the pacing and narrative.

is a great game..ordered it from jp..back in the day..the menu was problematic for someone who didnt know japanese..working out the system was a pain but it was fun...delta kai was the best...
Honestly wish this was pushed to English places more cause I now really want it despite its flaws, most fundamental games has boost limitations and it really makes me depressed that I can play like I’m in the anime so this is a game changer if it ever does get recognized and they make a new gundam game based around this one’s fundamentals and fuel stuff so that I can enjoy a gundam game for a second time. The only other gundam game that’s decent in my opinion is gundam reborn, fight me, and i really want a game like this just ease up the flight controls lol
This could work as a basis for a multiplayer Gundam shooter. Prolly better than Over watch did.

This is bizarre. I'm used to Gundam games looking like dime store reskins of Virtual On and playing like slower, clunkier dime store reskins of Virtual On. But this is... Smooth. Pretty, even. Why the hell wasn't this localized?

WW1 fighter planes are actually more maneuverable than today's most advanced fighters like F-22, SU-57 or J-20, they can do maneuvers that'll probably snap a high speed modern jet since they can't do them slow or they'll stall.
Ac6 has me genuinely excited. Time to burn my life away lol
