  • A motorcycle ride video out into the Florida countryside, enjoying the CVO Road Glide and a turn of fate saved my rear. I try to do a good "acceleration video" and miss second, but did that end up saving my bacon?

As a resident of East TN surrounded by great riding & living right in the middle of
many rider's destinations I'd rather ride the backroads of FL than anywhere else
I've ever been . I find it peaceful to find that long straight FL backroad & turn on
some good music , hit the cruise control & enjoy the ride . Keep the great videos
coming . Really enjoy each one .

Recently found your channel. Live up in north GA but am a transplant native from FL. When you went riding I thought, "well, that looks familiar." Then you said you turned onto Seminole Pratt and I thought yep, that would be the road I lived off of 2 years ago. You're right that it's nice being able to put all your belongings on your property or a building. But, we lived right at the end of a road next to the Corbett and man the bugs and heat were unbelievable. I wouldn't recommend it. Much prefer the ocean breeze going further east. Now happily riding in the Georgia foothills. Great channel and content.

That is a beeeau-ti-ful Road Glide. Not only will you cook your brakes by not engine braking but you will cancel out much of the centrifugal force that makes your bike want to stand up and it will be much more unstable. You know the old saying, "Never ride faster then your Guardian Angel can fly"... You know when you missed second gear, that was him getting back in front of you.

I have a Softail Breakout , and when someone wants to ride with me , I feel like I've moved a foot forward to make room for her. At 6' 7 you can see why that would be a problem. Went ahead and bought a 21 Road Glide special and problem was solved. They're good for road trips when you want to get away for a day or so....On another note I've missed 2nd more times than I can remember. 😆

I can carry on conversations with people I have never met before, but I tend to keep to myself most of the time!
I leave my house only when I have to to go shopping or to medical appointments or something!
I do like hanging out with friends, but I only have a couple of friends!

Hey Monkey. Love the channel. Just thought I would let know what we done. We got a R&R trailer I converted. 19'3" inside. I haul the wife's trike and two Electra Glide. Mine and a buddy. Comes in right at 6000 lb (2,700 lb empty) because it's aluminum. I pull it with a twin turbo 3.5L F150 10 speed. Closest thing to a diesel without being a diesel. It's rated for much more but I don't think I would want too. Went over the top of Jellico Mountain 72 mph with the cruise and only 2,700 rpm. Anyway I appreciate your cautioning guys to be conservative on the tow vehicle. So many haven't a clue. Saw a tore up enclosed trailer that had rolled and threw out four full dress Harlies all scattered in the median one time coming back from Daytona. Don't know what happened but it was not pretty. Be safe!

Not sure (lots of comments to wade thru, that's a good thing on your channel!) this year at Sturgis I used the GoPro for all my riding and got great video, encountered the same issue with battery time you alluded to - it requires that you keep the battery window open for the ride but you can use the USB adapter from the camera to your cigarette lighter/12v port to run off the bike while filming as long as your 12v adapter is close to your GP mount. It solved the battery problem but then you need to pay attention to your memory and that you're aware of when it's nearing exhaust so you can put another SD card in! I got GREAT video of all the typical rides out there, great for memories and to share with those who've never been!

The Ride Like A Pro guy offers advanced riding classes and he's located in Florida. I think his classes are very affordable. He was a motorcycle cop for most of his career. It will teach you how to manage that big bike in tight turns at low speeds.

Thanks. I feel like I have her under control though. I have about 35 years in the saddle... still I have though about taking a class, we can all learn, right?

@@ProfessionalMonkey absolutely man! I guarantee if you took his class you'd learn something. It's only $165.00.
...check him out hes on TH-cam. I dont know him personally either so this isn't me trying to sell his shit. He just seems pretty legit.

I like the gas cap on that CVO. My stupid new road glide needs one and they don’t make one yet. Harley also doesn’t offer handlebars (you did say the old ones do work though).

Donuts are not required to be on sale. If you are creative with your accounting you can write off "power rings" as Police equipment and nobody knows the difference. At least that's what I do
