Changing the motor can alter the vibrational frequency of the bike and affect fasteners that were fine in the past. Adding a small weight near the screw will absorb/counteract some of the vibration and the screw will be less likely to undo itself. Or you can add a star washer or loctite.
HA! About 2 years ago I was headed home on my road king. Old 2000 twin cam 88. Thing started making a crazy noise. Had me thinking the spring tensioner let go. Got it home and start ripping everything apart and discover the Damn exhaust shield tab that the hose clamp goes through broke free and was allowing the shield to vibrate against the front cylinder header. Since I already had part of it ripped apart I did the tensioners anyway. And lucky I did because they were worn almost all the way down.
Hommie, it seems no matter how or why we get another exhaust after TAB, we always come back to TABs. Ditched TAB due to my cam build on my 17 SGS and loss of alot of low end. I have a 6 speaker RF set up. Uppers lowers and bags. The 6 speakers prevents me from blowing my speakers...and don't have your system set on speed control. The whole faster you go louder it gets will blow your speakers man.
@@mikepsly73no, I have the speed control turned off on my system. I changed head units in 2020, from the OEM to the Sony XAV7000. But recently noticed the right side speaker pop on certain notes and even moderate bass.

Almost any other aftermarket radio set up will put your amp in the fairing, including a true RF kit not the Harley RF kit. I would suggest looking at Volunteer Audio or Sinister Sound for that future avenue
I may be missing something, but Rockford amps were made to mount in the fairing & can have 4 stage 2 speakers, 1 per channel per Rockford. Unless you’re adding speakers to the bag lids in addition to your fairing, you shouldn’t need any amp mounted in a bag, should be in the fairing. Rockford’s kit actually comes w/ a mounting bracket specifically for that.
Yep, you missed that this was HARLEY's Rockford system. If you buy the stereo from RF it's different than if you buy the RF system from Harley. But, no matter what, the RF system costs 60% more than this one, and that's a deal breaker for a lot of people.
@@ProfessionalMonkey Makes sense from RF's standpoint; otherwise, how would they sell their own kits, right? It's good there are different levels of systems available for people. However, a problem I think we have in the motorcycle audio arena is the output of the alternator/stator though. 54amps (on newer HD touring models) isn't a lot, especially if you want something a bit more than an audio kit can bring you, but you don't necessarily want comp level. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an engineering limit due to the size restrictions.
