  • GOLF TIPS: TURN YOUR SLICE INTO A DRAW WITH DRIVER BY JUST CHANGING BALL POSITION
    Many golfers struggle with a slice with the driver and most golfers understand that it is caused by the club path being left of the clubface at impact. What if you could change your club path by simply changing your ball position and getting the ball in a different part of the arc of the swing. Well this just might be the perfect video for you.

    Dude you turn my slice into a fade! and sometimes a straight shot! i watched this video today and went into driving range after weeks of bad striking today i made over 60% of my shots hit the fairway

    just come back from a round putting this into practice and what a difference, before i had the ball off my little toe and slicing badly. It felt wrong in my head to bring the ball further back but I tried it and wow what a result, the drives have started to hit down the fairway again instead of being way off to the right. Thanks for a great Tip Ali - best wishes Nick

    Hi Ali, I hit my irons really well to the point that I often use a 3-4 iron off the tee because my driver has plagued me so much. Had a few lessons where it was advised I moved ball position further forward and really tee it up, made my slice worse and kept skying it. Anyway just been to the range and tee'ed it a bit lower and moved it just under my naval and wow, took 15 balls to get used to it but I was hitting it over 230 carry with a nice baby draw which is amazing for me. Maybe I could squeeze a few yards more by hitting more up on it but that sort of distance is fine for me especially when its straight and controllable!

    Great piece of advice.
    I tried this before seeing your video and it does work. That frustrating left to right ball flight improves significantly.
    Also it helps to get lower down un one's stance sort of like Keegan Bradley, it helps to make the lie angle more upright thus promoting more right to left ball flight

    Thanks for this Ali. I have been working with this even before I saw this. This explains things quite well. It works well for me. I am a short guy. Never was able to control a driver thats 45 or more inches longer. Now, with good ball positioning I am doing well. I think if people will watch this video carefully you will have helped a lot of golfers Ali !!!!! Enjoying my M 6 driver. Spider Dubiel

    Cheers Ali. So many teachers emphasise the low point in the swing arc. The square point in the swing arc always struck me as just important. I think youve highlighted my inconsistent set up. Im not a prolific slicer but occasionally throw in a real banana ball. I think poor ball position is the answer. Top video.

    Great video and very useful graphics to show the swing measurement improvements w the ball played in a more back position. The thinking is usually the clubs is still moving in to out when moving the ball ahead and the face is closing. Actually it is the opposite as the very helpful measurements show. I find I can hit the ball a lot more solid too - less worry about flipping the wrist and trying to hold off on the release.
    Too much bad advise out there to move the ball forward to hit up on the ball - which I always find is a recipe for a slice. Play the ball back a little and maybe tilt your spine back if you want a little higher launch. One of the more useful videos I have found so far . Thanks.

  • @Danny.A665

    Will definitely be trying this. At the range today with driver set up just inside my left foot, huge slices off to the right. Or catching the ball with the face closed and going low left. This sounds like the answer.

  • @frankcastillo1536
    @frankcastillo1536 ปีที่แล้ว

    It works. I moved the ball towards the middle of my stance. No pulls, no slices. Striking the ball with my driver was more solid and the ball flight was down the middle.

    Going to give that a go next time out. I think I will try small incremental changes until I find the sweet spot of mostly straight with a slight draw. I recently changed to putting the ball forward to line up only just inside left toe because I was tending to go left. I have been greeting great launch but now some massive swings to right when it does go wrong. I think I may have over done it with the ball position forward.

This week I tried all remedies except ball back and none fixed weak fade & big slices. I'm definitely putting ball back tomorrow as my 3W & all other clubs are 1 or 2 balls back then recommended by snake oil traders & I hit straight or draw on command except with driver

    I tried this today for a different reason. I was hoping that bringing the ball back towards center a few inches, that it would eliminate pop up drives. My thinking is that with the ball positioned in front of my left heal, I was getting too much upswing on the ball. For the most part it worked and I hit a few lower trajectory bombs. But I am still slicing a bit from time to time. Next time out I will try another inch back and see how that works.

    I've been blessed hitting a very straight ball. My driver's problem is when I come down from the top, I sometimes hit a straight ball, very low, then hooks really bad...I have by practicing, on the way down, keeping my hands open moving towards the right, I blast it very straight, and 290-315..Only if i could putt 😃

      @chicosarod 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ur feet ar set for a fade. because the arc will move further out to in due to u front foot further from target line. if u had to u would need to increase the ball further back than your heart or shirt pocket. sternum maybe. keep moving it back till you get the desired results constentily

  • @jsusna1972
    @jsusna1972 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If I have the ball positioned too far forward in my stance, my drives start left and hook from there because the club is starting to move left by then and the face is closed relative to that path. If the face is open relative to that path, then I will see the ball start left and then slice, or if the face is square, it's just a straight pull to the left.

    Nice how Ali so logically linked together the inside-out (left-to-right) first half of the swing, but then how the second half being right-to-left causes the slice during the brief upswing to the teed-up ball. The logical fix is to set up the ball nearer your nose, and further away from your left toe. Setting up the ball all the way forward to your left toe is too far, if you are slicing.But then, should not the ball be teed up a bit lower, when the ball is move from left toe toward nose. Thanks.

    Where does the open/close club fcae come into play?
    I can see your point on the swing circle and a forward ball position making us hit to the left, but...
    Just changing the ball position doesn’t change the club face, does it? If anything the club face should be more open if we hit the ball earlier in the swing, right?

    I’m a beginner beginner. Like played 7 rounds in my life. Slice my driver every time and usually 3 wood. Realized today I put 3 wood in my stance where I normally would and iron and crushed it. Didn’t realize this til I watched this driver I’ve done everything because I practice every day slice got even worse because watching vids about put ball on inside of left foot. I always practice swing and watch my arch I think I need a foot width to a foot and half width between. I still hit driver 220 or so with slice but if I hit it straight it’s 260 with no real try. I know I have swing speed it’s natural from playing baseball forever and I’ve hit some baseballs sub 400 feet. All I have to do is find out what makes me slice and I’ll be hitting par 5 in 2 on the regular at my local course. I’ve done it twice and even over shot it in 2 once
