    Sometimes it's not your swing and you just proved it. Great explanation of why setup and grip are so important. Cheers.

    Perfectly timed video! When I get lazy with ball position it creeps well forward in my stance and everything is a pull. All makes sense now!

      you're putting the cart before the horse, like so so many people obsessed with "proper" setup and what not.
      Why is EVERYTHING a pull?
      Why do you even pull a shot?
      You pull shots because your clubhead gets in front of your hips, while closed.
      Also probably your hands are rotated weak and your clubhead is coming from out to in through the ball in such a way as to hit the ball with neutral spin possibly even with CCW (assuming you're RH) spin. So the ball is a) at least pulling b) probably drawing on top of that. It's not about "letting the ball 'creep forward in your stance". It's about poor swing coordination resulting in a mixture of poor strike direction and poor spin.
      Don't blame the ball or your setup. Blame your swing. You could setup with the ball 2 feet ahead of you and still hit cut-shots. You could setup with the ball off your back heel and still hit pulls.

    Thank you for this! The last few rounds I haven’t been able to control my ball! Definitely crept forward with every club. I couldn’t hit a draw nor a controlled fade which is my go to. I moved the ball a bit back for a practice session and all of a sudden I felt confident again. Too bad it’s now getting cold so now to hopefully maintain it over winter lol

    Excellent video. Thanks, this really has me thinking now! Going to try different ball positions as soon as I can to see what happens for myself. I'll also keep an eye on my "shangle!"

    Hello Michael happy to hear that we can send you questions. Here is one from Belgium : regarding your opinion on the ball position, I think it's also interesting to hear from you on the width of the stance. I think one parameter can't go without the second ?
    Thank you for your answer

      Ball position is an illusion… but if you want a standard answer to a direct question. I can’t give it to everyone. Secret knowledge is so valuable that one shouldn’t just pass it out to all the world without the student truly wanting it. Michael is scratching the surface with his instruction here. If you want The truth message me back

    I would have included discussion about stance width in this presentation. Ball position and stance width are part of the same equation.

    Regarding ball position, so does that mean you hit all your balls from the same ball position regardless of the iron you are using? No difference in ball position if you use a # 3 iron vs. a #7 iron?

    • @charlesking3384
      @charlesking3384 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on where you perceive ball position to be. Are you just using your eyes or are you feeling it in your body?If you just messed around with what he’s doing here you would find out what’s right for each and every club because they’re all different lengths. Ball position is intuitive.. no one can tell you where your ball should be… I could lead you to the truth but only you can find it. Generally speaking a player holding a sandwedge will naturally stand with their feet closer together than a player holding a 3 iron..

      @@charlesking3384 Thank you for the insight. Someone I know gave me a similar feedback, because a coach I had taught me to find 4 positions forward from center stance, starting and aligned to the left of my chin (I am right handed). That way I have no problem hitting balls usin Ts, but I struggle hitting balls on the ground. I need to go back to the board. Thanks again for your response.

      @@abelardorojas1772 I know everything there is to know as far as relevance/ priority and the root cause of why amateur struggle with exactly what you’re talking about. I may sound very arrogant or confident or both… but I’m telling the truth.I don’t give it away in an open forum but I’d be happy to talk with you on the phone and explain why you struggle hitting balls off the ground and you would be able to fix it for yourself in one minute. And quite honestly never look outside yourself again for information…

    Does ball position apply to the driver as well? When I position the ball towards my lead foot I seem to be more inconsistent, either slicing or hooking the ball. The further back I position my driver the straighter my drives seem to be.

    • @foodog3026
      @foodog3026 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a feeling you’re a slicer like myself…driver is now slightly forward of center for me…it’s just our natural swing…I used to align the ball inside my left heel…now every ball is near center, shorter clubs a ball behind center…

    • @charlesking3384
      @charlesking3384 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s more to it than just ball position. Only one element. You will never stop slicing or coming over the top if you cannot perceive your target. And I guarantee you if you want to stop slicing or coming over the top and you cannot / You can’t perceive the target, either of you. There are literally only three things you need to know and you will never come over the top again. And you can do it in one swing.

    Michael Breed- did Jesus come to you in a dream and say “build your instruction on the rock.? I’ve given you this platform Michael, teach the truth.”And here we are… you’re teaching what every single player, every single coach on planet earth can teach/build on with any method they choose. Awareness is key, as that third 👁 on your logo Suggests…. You’re scratching the surface sir. Clearly your body awareness is increasing in your own game. Hit me up if you want to know how deep the rabbit hole goes 😉… If you have a restless feeling there’s more, there is. What you’re NOW teaching can only be experienced. The way you’re saying it shows you know the Relevance, and you’ve must’ve thought…. “how could I have ever given a lesson without prioritizing this…. “ Or quite possibly “if I stuck with this as a (teen-20’s) id be on Champions Tour today…
