I think people are missing the point of the video a bit. Corkben doesn't believe they're making a new Smash Bros. Just that they're preparing an updated version for Switch 2 with added DLC characters Nintendo has done this method in the past. Remember the Gameboy Colour? The main appeal of that handheld was being able to play updated & remastered original Gameboy games. Think of Links Awakening Vs Links Awakening DX The Switch 2 is no different here. We already know Metroid Prime 4 has 2 different versions in development. Paper Mario has 4K option disabled in it's settings, waiting for Switch 2. Investors reported Nintendo showed them a 4K remaster of Breath of the Wild. There's no reason to deny that Smash Ultimate is getting a similar touch up for Switch 2. I fully believe it is. And they'll be adding new characters to reinvigorate the player base and get people hyped for Switch 2
This is exactly what I meant, thank you! I view it in the same way as something like Ghost Of Tsushima Directors cut on PS5. Sure the PS5 can run the original PS4 version, but this is just an enhanced one with extra content because… why not?
@@RaymanSSB i saw it on google like 4 years ago. So it does not mean anything. It was just a girl that created a moveset for rayman and draw a picture of him and nintendo responded and gave her some merch
@@RaymanSSB also found out that in 2015 ubisoft tweeted that they would love rayman in smash wiiu but for now theyre happy with the 3 rayman trophies that are in the game
I believe we could have had Rayman in the original smash WiiU DLC, had Ubisoft not backed out of their WiiU support early. Nintendo being annoyed with ubisoft, plus Ubisofts lack of interest in Rayman, snubbed him being in Smash 4 or Ultimate. But like you said, the climate is different now. Ubisoft & Nintendo are like glue again. They had Starfox added to their Starlink game, they have 2 Mario & rabbid games, with a Rayman DLC. And finally the leaked Rayman remaster Nintendo seemingly asked for. It's all adding up to a Smash reveal, whenever it comes out!
They backed up the Wii U probably the best they financially could. The were one of the only third party developer to propose a game at launch with ZombiU that had to exploit the tablet, Rayman Legends was initially a Wii U exclusive, they just had to stop as it was doomed. They doubled it down on the switch, they release most of their titles on it, the fact that they backported Assassin's Creed almost 10 years later for the switch as it was the first console that could actually run an Assassin's Creed. That's absolute dedication from Ubi. I'm really glad this is finally happening !
I've wanted to be excited about a character reveal in Smash for so many years, though it's never happened before. But if I could only choose 3 characters to be added to the roster, Rayman would definitely be one of them!
Here’s what I think could happen with Smash Ultimate Deluxe 5 new characters in the base game (2 3rd Parties, 3 1st parties) 2 DLC Passes that come out early in the game’s life cycle (like Smash Ultimate’s) 1 DLC Pass that comes out later in the game’s life cycle (like MK8) 1 Echo pass that is double the size of the regular pass, I’ll even give suggestions for each Base Game Rayman Shadow the Hedgehog Geno Alear (New FE Protag, idk the name exactly) Meowscarada Pass 1: Will (Metaphor ReFantazio protagonist) Dante (Devil May Cry) Frisk/Kris (some kind of Toby Fox rep, I feel like Nintendo would allow Sakurai to use an indie character and who better than one of the most popular indie devs of all time who has worked with Nintendo and Sakurai before, also personal dream of mine) Xenoblade 3 Protagonist Crash Bandicoot Impa Pass 2: Ring Fit Trainer Riku (Kingdom Hearts) Raiden (Metal Gear Rising) Waluigi Spyro Pass 3: New Metroid Character Astro Bot Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza) Basically whatever else is the new big thing with Nintendo for the next 2 slots Echo Pass: Funky Kong/Donkey Kong Metal Sonic/Sonic Roxas/Sora Ms Pac-Man/Pac Man Octoling/Inkling Spring Man/Min-Min Shadow Mario/Mario Mr L/Luigi Tom Nook/Isabelle Viridi/Palutena
Smash "Ultimate" is a huge reach, Ultimate is done, re-releasing it would be a dick move. We need to move on to the next thing, even if it means a bunch of cuts.
@@corkben If Rayman can't to the next Smash, you can play as Captain Falcon as an alternative. What does Falcon have a common with Rayman, in Rayman Legends Rayman is fast, can wall jump, and he can punch enemies. Which is literally CF in a nutshell. Thats the downside of too many characters because it's hard for some characters to standout without being unbalanced. For example I think the reason Dante didn't get in Smash bros is because he be too similar to Bayonetta, since they were created by the person and combo characters are tricky to balance????
He is an unlockable character in brawlhalla. He's about 5000 coins you earn with using the default characters. Also, i got SSBU so if he is then i got to save up points or get currency
Imagine if Smash Bros Ultimate gets several remasters across all future generations of Nintendo consoles, each new version adding new characters and stages, INCLUDING new Fighters Passes for each one. Just Like Street Fighter 2, but much bigger.
Would be a great way to kick off more fighters. Wouldn’t even need a Deluxe Edition because the Switch 2 is backwards compatible. They should just add dlc to Ultimate for as long as possible.
sakurai said he was done with smash bros. if we are getting a new smash bros it wouldn't directed by him. also, a deluxe version is just completely unrealastic with all the IP's in the game. Sakurai had to fight to get meny of the characters in. just Sora alone will never happen again because of his IP owners. square enix is hyper particulate about how and where their IP apears in and Disney will ask a arm and a leg with intrest to have one of THEIR IP in your game. i want to beleave, but remember that smash is made for the japanes maket FIRST and the IP's that are popular there, Rayman is a Cult Cult classic there. maybe next game, but it won't be ultimate deluxe.
Now I do see the play of rereleasing smash as possibly in the cards but i don’t see them rereleasing cause as you said they already have smash ultimate as a playable game on the switch however I do see sakurai coming back and making new dlc again as a possibility too help promote the game in the form of a 3rd fighters pass but other than that I’d say your pretty spot on. I will say though that even if they decide to make a new smash game there’s a good chance Rayman will make an appearance as a fighter given he gets good sales for his comeback, and another thing I can also see is a rabid assist trophy possibly.
I have plans on reviewing the og Rayman game for the playstation. Though there is also an atari as well as Saturn at 60fps. That rarely gets talked about and I dont have access to any of those copies. Or an emulator for that matter, as I havent decided yet if I choose apple or acer/windows computer laptop lol
Sorry, but as nice as it would be, it probably isn't happening and we have no reason to believe it is. Your entire argument is predicated on the idea that we're getting a "Smash Ultimate Deluxe" like they did with Mario Kart 8. The problem in your theory is that these deluxe updates we got on the Switch were a direct result of the lack of backwards compatibility between the Wii U and Switch. They were purely to get these games in the hands of people who skipped the previous generation. The "Switch 2," as you mentioned, *will* be backwards compatible, meaning it would be redundant for them to bother releasing the exact same games again when the new console can play the old ones just fine. Nintendo never does these things without a reason, and there would be no reason to re-release Ultimate, even if they did decide to add more characters. The game, as Sakurai said himself, is complete. The other major issue with your theory is that you're pretending Rayman has only recently come back into relevance. He's been popular and heavily requested to be a fighter since before Smash 4. He was still relevant on Wii with the Rabbids games, he had two excellent and highly acclaimed 2D platformers (one of which had exclusive content on Wii U), his series was represented with trophies and spirits, etc. If there was any intention of adding him in as a fighter, it would have been in Smash 4 or Ultimate, when his popularity was at an all-time high. Not to mention the outstanding relationship Nintendo had with Ubisoft during the release of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Like I said, a nice thought, as Rayman was actually my ballot character since I assumed Sora was an impossibility at the time. But there's just too much working against him for it to even make logical sense. Despite your verbal guarantee in the video, I'm gonna be the outlier in the comment section and not hop on that hype train. That's why they always say, never speak in absolutes.
I have a bit of a weird question: As far as I'm aware, you've never been wrong. Not that I've watched a ton of your videos, but you still have a 100% track record as far as I'm aware. You also speak with confidence only when you're certain. So, my question is... have you ever published a speculation on TH-cam and were wrong?
Haha, well I’ve only been posting for about a month, and so far I haven’t been wrong, BUT, there’s only one theory that’s had enough time to come true. My others, so far, are yet to be confirmed, but also haven’t been disproved yet
I actually do believe in the theory that the switch 2 will launch with smash ultimate deluxe but I think they’ll release smash 6 later on in the consoles lifespan say year 2 or year 3.
